Speaking about the mental aspect when going vegan for ethical reasons REALLY resonated with me, and I don’t feel there’s enough conversations happening or support regarding this. I’ve really been struggling with all of the horrifying and heart wrenching things that I’ve seen and learned since going vegan, and it’s been very hard to mentally and emotionally digest all of that.

@@TheVeganView It's going really well so far. Some of the hardest things have been things you specifically mentioned in this video, like people I expected to understand not understanding, but I'm just SO happy and relieved to be living in alignment with my ethics after figuring out exactly what they are-- and I'm really enjoying preparing my own vegan food. I'm in it to stay.

I’m in love with Nishas advice to be true to yourself. I’m vegan for the animals but my voice is science and my passion is climate change so if my vegan activism just a part of that lens, that’s okay. Because that’s my voice.

I really needed this video. I’ve been trying to go 100% vegan only to go back to eating some meat and feeling bad. This made me realize that in order to succeed on a vegan diet I have to do it MY way and that might look different than someone else’s but this is my journey and I have to enjoy it. Thanks girls!

OMG this video made me reflect so much on my journey. I am four-years vegan, and thinking about how far I've come, how much peace I've found, and how much passion I've accessed in myself through these years, has me all in my feelings. I love this.

I'm slowly making my way to veganism, my mom and I are currently going pescatarian and I am realizing how easy it is to have plant based meals. All my breakfast meals are vegan and I am excited to make every meal that way. Thank you for the video! God bless.

I love how confident I've become in the kitchen. Before I would only eat oven-roasted chicken and fries because I had no clue how to cook. Now I love to cook and go on food adventures when I'm abroad, it's so much fun! I feel so much closer to my true self since becoming vegan. I was super scared that my family and friends wouldn't accept it or would stop inviting me to social things, but they've all been super supportive and curious on this journey with me and now everyone always asks me to cook them food because they like it. Acitivism is not for me, but I love that I planted a seed like you said! Great video ladies. X

Another fabulous video! I echo many of these points as a 5 yr+ WFPB vegan. Although I transitioned into WFPB to control symptoms of a medical condition, I've learned to tune out the "weight-loss" mentality in order to fully appreciate what MY body loves and needs to thrive. I found like this lifestyle truly integrated ALL the aspects of my personality and spiritual longing.

That's a really helpful resource for new vegans. We see online vegans that are somewhat perfect - outspoken, brave, smart, beautiful, who say that it's so easy. And we're there struggling and feeling like not doing enough.
For me the best thing was joining vegan groups, taking Challenge22 - seeing that there are people like me and supporting each other.

Yes, the thing about calorie density and making sure to eat a sufficient quantity when going vegan is a crucial point, imo. We see so many people who "fail" because they felt weak, etc. ... ya gotta eat! Manga! Go ahead, pig out on the vegan food, that's a bonus ... "Eat More, Weigh Less," as Dean Ornish says (though I never focused much on weight with it, myself). My favorite foods are vegan, zero temptation to eat dead animals ... gross!

Not necessarily. I still have to really watch my caloric intake and portions as I did when I ate meat and dairy. I’ve been vegan for 6 years now. I’m not a junk food vegan but I did gain some weight and still have to be careful. I’ve struggled with obesity my entire life so “normal” people can probably eat as much as they want with no issues. I tried that at first but it didn’t work for me. I’ve added more raw meals and can afford larger portions with those meals but stuff like lentil chili for example, I have to measure portions.
