- Since coming to Pakistan I am finding it very hard to spend money.
Come along with me as I taste the various foods in Karachi's famous Burns Food Street. You will see the amazing hospitality of Pakistan, the kindest people in the world.
I try and insist on paying for the food and drink I try, but they say I am a guest in their country so everything I try is given for FREE!

It's a very nice a country, people are very friendly and the food so delicious 😋 . I was there in Karachi at the same as you , last month in April 2024 🙂
Hi, Gola ganda is basically crushed ice with different kinds of sweetened syrups layered on top, it's quite good actually but I won't really recommend you guys having it as it might upset your stomach cz the ice isn't always hygienic, even though we locals are used to having it, it still gets our stomachs too sometimes lol so have it at your own risk i'd say and the same goes for other street food as well. Saw a communication gap there so thought to clarify. Welcome to Pakistan tho, hope you have a great time here :)

If you really want to find out that if they want you to the pay the bill or not then at least try to offer them 3 times, basically in Pakistan there's a culture of refusing to take money for anything for showing the kindness to any guest, offer them money 3 times at least and if they even refused to take the money 3rd time then they genuinely don't want you to pay... usually they will take the money 3rd time... its just the culture thing and a way of being respectful.
Ok thank you. I have been trying hard to pay but they refuse. I’ve been passing on the goodwill thought by tipping taxi drivers etc!
