Hi, CS, the singer's name is Peter Beckett and he was with the band for several years, indeed, Richard Cottle was in the band when he first joined them. This keyboard player is Ollie Marland who played in Tina Turner's band and is a member of the orchestra rhythm section along with John Miles(guitar), Laurie Wisefield(guitar), Dale Davis(bass), and their own drummer, Stuart Elliot.

It's not the Peter Beckett from Player.
The guitar player playing the signature riffs in the song (including on the original album) is Ian Bairnson...and I agree with so many of the comments here...Arguably the best live version that I've seen...

Sorry, but the lead vocalist in this great performance is NOT Peter Beckett but John Miles (Music) 🙂
Blind, too? John Miles is playing guitar in the orchestra rhythm section and he also came out to the piano to sing Music and another song based on a Ravel piece where Wayne Marshall played piano and John sang All By Myself.
Try looking up a picture of John - you'll see that we are two different people and that that fact is blatantly obvious.
And I'm well aware of what I sang and didn't sing, thanks.
Hello and sorry for my mistake. 🙈After some research I realized, that there exist two different singers named Peter Beckett.
The one who sang "Baby come back" in 1977 with the Players doesn't look NOR sound like THIS Peter Beckett singing here in Sirius/Eye in the Sky. Thus my mistake. Sorry once again!
I absolutely love this song and for me this performance with "yes" Peter Beckett 🙂 is the best version I know.

This is the great Alan Parsons Project with some all-time-parsons musicians like Ian Bairnson and Stuart Elliot.
Vocals are by Peter Beckett, not as good as the original ones.
Original Eric Woolfson Vocals are much better. Mick Mullins also does good in another live version.
I'd like to see Parsons Live, although people say they're not that good. It's one of my favourite bands.

It's just a different interpretation of the song, Steve, if anything, I would say this vocal has a lot more soul than the original record, (although I'm obviously not knocking the original), but as far as I can see, you are spot on with your assessment of the current line-up - when it comes down to Alan singing lead vocals on this song, you know things are bad.
Dude the singer's name isent named Steve, The guy's name is peter Beckett along side with the man on the assuctic who wrote this song which is alan parson, A legend of the music industry
