I have this car, bought in 2010 and I spent about $40,000 in repairs since then. Nowadays it works amazing but still need some internal work but I love driving it. Mine is from 2000 and has about 144,000 I don’t drive as much every day but I drove it from Texas to Massachusetts without any problem besides the headlights which decided to burned out a common problem in these Mercedes due to the biodegradable wiring MB was experimenting with. Good examples of these cars are almost gone or you see one or two barely. W210 E55 are becoming unicorns and hard to get good examples. They aren’t cheap if you can’t work on them so be aware before you becoming an owner that still an AMG Mercedes and you will pay for the price at the dealership. I am not a mechanic or do it yourself guy so my only option is to take to the dealership. Don’t be cheap on these cars because it something goes wrong you will play deadly for.

it's super cheap to own if you can work on cars though. Parts are cheap, very easy to access, I found it's even more mechanic-friendly than my lexus lol

well, it could be a great starting point haha. Guess what, the 210 E55 is the very first car I've ever worked on, and still owns it till today, it's a design of such simplicity/minimalism both in and out.@@embajadoresboy4535

Great cars terrible to own in the UK. Used to go to bed and wake up in the morning to bubbling paint as if by magic.

@@AndyLaRides mine was bloody awful. I left the car parked in the unit over winter. The side that was against the wall was fine, the side facing the door was so rusted I had to replace both doors and the front wing! Miss it though, very charming car.

Pre-cost-cutting Mercedes. W210 AMG is a beast. 50 lbs. more solder than regular W210

What’s the reason those cars raising prices in a sky. Low mileage will be super expensive in next 5-7 years.

Agree. They’re also naturally aspirated and not loaded to the gills with sensors, like modern cars
