I’ve had two Power wagons and love to keep up with the upgrades! So far not enough yet to upgrade but man are these great trucks! Almost was swayed with Fords Tremor but I couldn’t do it! Ram just does it right! Good stuff my man.
The Power Wagon is THE most capable off road truck by any manufacturer PERIOD. I have owned 3 over the last 10 years. It is purpose built for off road from the ground up and not just a “option” package. My PW embarrasses my wife’s Jeep Rubicon off road in our woods. It’s on another level as there isn’t a equal. I very seldom ever have to lock the axles on my PW off road. The vehicle is so capable and over built you have to be in conditions so far beyond hardcore off roads to need it. Recovering other stuck 4x4’s is when I tend to use the lockers. For the love of gods stop the TRX vs Power Wagon comparison as they are two completely different purpose built trucks for different tasks. The frames are completely different being a 1/2 ton on TRX and 3/4 ton on the PW so there is the light duty truck vs the heavy duty truck. The PW will embarrass the TRX off road in the tough stuff.
I already have a Rubi and haven't really taken it off road much. Looking at the Ford F250 Tremor with the 6.7 which will be a beast. The exterior styling on the Ford is just better although, I do like the interior of the Ram and the analog instrumentation is way better than what Ford has with their clown bar graph gauges!
I've owned 3 PW's too. Love this truck. Had a Ford Raptor and I couldn't take that on any significant technical terrain. Great as a desert romper though. PW for the win for sure!
Everyone ranks on the Power Wagon for lack of towing and payload. That’s absolutely true. With a 3000 pound trailer you can only haul maybe 5 or 6 thousand pounds. Not great you say? It’s not, until you have to haul something to a place where angels fear to tread. It will haul that load up the side of a mountain, through a creek, or over a pasture covered in 3’ of snow. Try that in a 30,000 lb towing diesel. If you do, just pray that there’s a Power Wagon nearby.
2022 level 3 power wagon and love it. Def not great for towing or payload, but there are some upgrades out there to make it more capable.. especially if you're overlanding.
Most people don't realize that the front and rear axles are both actually limited slip until they are electrically locked. They are very capable before you ever lock the axles. Electric disconnect sway bar improves the ride off and the have front articulink suspension to increase the articulation compared to any other setup. The ramp index is far above other brands.
I think compare PW to TRX or Raptor isn’t fair since those trucks are made for desert high speed racing, and the PW is made for low speed crawling (hence people call it the HD Wrangler). Different trucks for different purposes. I don’t believe any F-150 Raptor variant has a front locker. Overall, good review!
I like how you explain all the features, buttons, etc. I would suggest improving your lighting as it would have made it much better to see the things you were pointing out.
You got the payload and towing info wrong. You gave the capacities of the 2500 Rebel with the 6.4L. The Power Wagon in this particular trim will has approximately 1300lbs payload and 10,000lbs towing. You should show the viewers the door sticker on the driver side.

Would need a 3 inch lift though, does that option come with it? What would be best tires? Thanks
I wonder what they did to increase the payload and tow capacity ? Did you open the door To check the yellow sticker sounds like 2500 rebel payload numbers numbers
They didn't. Power wagon with tjat setup has a payload capacity of around 1400 lbs (or less) and a max towing of around 10,000lbs. The numbers he gives are general numbers from the 2500 class
I have a 2012 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman with 5.7 liter HEMI and looking to replace it. Just configured a 2024 Power Wagon $85,740.00, then plan to get a camper shell for it. Found this video, good review!
Do some research on putting camper shells on these particular trucks before you pull the trigger. It's not as cut and dry as putting a camper shell on a regular 2500. It needs some supporting mods. (From what I've read)
Sweet truck but like my old 03 CTD 2500 when new, they look sooooo stupid with those tiny tires. Needs 35's Min. Especially with 4:10 axles. Torn between this and the rebel. Im digging the PW more. Gotta have that rambox tho.
I bought a 2017 2500 Laramie with a power wagon option from a dealer who bought after a Texas auto show for 2017 fully loaded except sun roof and bed compartments for $49,000. They drove it back from Texas to Washington so it had a few miles on it. When I set up the uconnect the lady told me the discontinued the power wagon option for the Laramie option in 2016 so she said I have a maybe one of a kind power wagon for that year. It a great truck and I do 4x4 it. Bumpers are cheap, slow hit a tree backing up in the woods so I had to replace it with a hammer head bumper. I also own a 2019 2dr jeep rubicon to off set the large truck lol 😝
You should buy both of these trucks. One for rock crawling and one for flying across the desert. I have a 2019 Power Wagon and a 2023 HD Rebel. Love them. Why don’t I have a TRX? This is very embarrassing, but I don’t have any place to park it. My wife’s tractor is always in the way.
I have the 2021 Power Wagon 75th Anniversary. LOVE IT! The shocks SUCK bad. I replaced them all with Carli King Pintop suspension. Disconnecting swaybar still works. I run 37's which make al the difference. RAM makes really nice 37 inch rims with the proper offset. As for offroad, nothing comes close. Lock both axles and disconnect the swaybar and it'll get you out just about anything. I've pulled out more broken down Jeep's than I can remember. Thee's always the question, "why didn't I get a diesel?" Doesel doesn't come with the Power Wagn. It's 500 more lbs and is far too heave for a truch this capable. The front suspension would really suffer.
@@user-rk2ww2cm4v I love it. Radius arms are required as far as I'm concerned. The factory ones are too short for full articulation and the Carli ones are a work of art.
