- In this video, I review the 2024 Ram 2500 Power Wagon. This truck is sweet.. It looks good, drives well, and is actually very capable off road.. Maybe even more capable than a RAM TRX in some respects.. Is the Power Wagon the right truck for you? Watch the video and decide that for yourself...

**Payload and Tow Capacity numbers are inaccurate*
Here are the true numbers:
Payload: ~1,300 lbs
Tow Capacity: ~10,000 lbs
I've done more than 10k in my Power Wagon, no issues doing so.
Payload the weak spot
I have a 21 pw
I bet this truck would have no problem pulling 15k@@xanitrucker9946
20 years ago the Powerwagon had a MUCH bigger payload and towing capacity
Payload was over 2000
My 2022 1500 is good for over 11k. Why would I want this thing?
Power Wagon with 37’s is the Godzilla of off road vehicles…
I would buy a Ram Power Wagon over TRX.
Have both 22 trx , 24 power wagon , trx is way more fun
I did...... Awesome truck.....
I would also
Just traded in my trx for,2024 power wagon….much better towing but trx was a blast !
@@timradke7775I guess when you have both at the same time I’ll take your word for it
Everyone ranks on the Power Wagon for lack of towing and payload. That’s absolutely true. With a 3000 pound trailer you can only haul maybe 5 or 6 thousand pounds. Not great you say? It’s not, until you have to haul something to a place where angels fear to tread. It will haul that load up the side of a mountain, through a creek, or over a pasture covered in 3’ of snow. Try that in a 30,000 lb towing diesel. If you do, just pray that there’s a Power Wagon nearby.
3 feet of snow ?
Of course it will
*pats head*
Yes get the 2024 2500 rebel cummins
The Power Wagon is THE most capable off road truck by any manufacturer PERIOD. I have owned 3 over the last 10 years. It is purpose built for off road from the ground up and not just a “option” package. My PW embarrasses my wife’s Jeep Rubicon off road in our woods. It’s on another level as there isn’t a equal. I very seldom ever have to lock the axles on my PW off road. The vehicle is so capable and over built you have to be in conditions so far beyond hardcore off roads to need it. Recovering other stuck 4x4’s is when I tend to use the lockers.
For the love of gods stop the TRX vs Power Wagon comparison as they are two completely different purpose built trucks for different tasks. The frames are completely different being a 1/2 ton on TRX and 3/4 ton on the PW so there is the light duty truck vs the heavy duty truck. The PW will embarrass the TRX off road in the tough stuff.
Completely agree! I have a Wrangler Rubicon and my next pickup is going to be a PW! I’m not sure which options to get.
The heavy duty truck with a lower payload than the light(er] duty truck
I already have a Rubi and haven't really taken it off road much. Looking at the Ford F250 Tremor with the 6.7 which will be a beast. The exterior styling on the Ford is just better although, I do like the interior of the Ram and the analog instrumentation is way better than what Ford has with their clown bar graph gauges!
I've owned 3 PW's too. Love this truck. Had a Ford Raptor and I couldn't take that on any significant technical terrain. Great as a desert romper though. PW for the win for sure!
Just bought one of these two weeks ago. Same color with level 3 package, LOVE IT!
I bet! Congratulations. Will you be taking it off road?
I’ve had two Power wagons and love to keep up with the upgrades! So far not enough yet to upgrade but man are these great trucks! Almost was swayed with Fords Tremor but I couldn’t do it! Ram just does it right! Good stuff my man.
Most people don't realize that the front and rear axles are both actually limited slip until they are electrically locked. They are very capable before you ever lock the axles. Electric disconnect sway bar improves the ride off and the have front articulink suspension to increase the articulation compared to any other setup. The ramp index is far above other brands.
VERY capable trucks..
I have a 2024 PW on order. When I was a kid a good friend had a 67 PW for a company truck. It was awesome then and it’s awesome now!
Yes it is! Does your friend still have the 67?
@@703Speed no. It was a company truck. It’s long gone. It was the old hollow sided Dodge / Fargo truck from the 60s. Very rugged.
I bought a 2024 Power Wagon. Level 2 Trim. Average 8 MPG in city 17Mpg on the freeway. Very happy with the performance and ride.
In my dreams I'm driving that truck. There was a TV show in the 70s the guy drove one. Well done. Peace
The truck Is pretty sweet. Definitely big and bad a$$
Simon and Simon.
2022 level 3 power wagon and love it. Def not great for towing or payload, but there are some upgrades out there to make it more capable.. especially if you're overlanding.
703Speed is in a class by himself. Best vehicle reviews I have ever seen.

I have a 2023 model - love it , do you have a video of all the features, I got mine 2 months ago
I love how the new sports hood makes EVEN MORE drag. 🤣
Exactly what the PW needs is less economy...
Engineers love designing stupid (and fake) shit that appeals to stupid (and fake) people
I think the ram box storage is the only thing missing lol
Very grat HD Truck with solid front axle and my favorite 6.4 Hemi engine. Great review as always. Greetings
Thank you Luke
You got the payload and towing info wrong. You gave the capacities of the 2500 Rebel with the 6.4L. The Power Wagon in this particular trim will has approximately 1300lbs payload and 10,000lbs towing. You should show the viewers the door sticker on the driver side.
I got some bad info online.. It happens. I will pin a comment that shows the true numbers. Thanks for the heads up
I have a 2012 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman with 5.7 liter HEMI and looking to replace it.
Just configured a 2024 Power Wagon $85,740.00, then plan to get a camper shell for it.
Found this video, good review!
Sounds like it could be a home away from home. That's gonna be sweet!
Do some research on putting camper shells on these particular trucks before you pull the trigger. It's not as cut and dry as putting a camper shell on a regular 2500. It needs some supporting mods. (From what I've read)
@@Jay-ns5ub
Thanks, doing that now
I like how you explain all the features, buttons, etc. I would suggest improving your lighting as it would have made it much better to see the things you were pointing out.
I had a 2020 Power Wagon. Just traded it for a 2024 TRX. I have zero regrets.
Except for the 10 mpg......
I bought a 2017 2500 Laramie with a power wagon option from a dealer who bought after a Texas auto show for 2017 fully loaded except sun roof and bed compartments for $49,000. They drove it back from Texas to Washington so it had a few miles on it. When I set up the uconnect the lady told me the discontinued the power wagon option for the Laramie option in 2016 so she said I have a maybe one of a kind power wagon for that year. It a great truck and I do 4x4 it. Bumpers are cheap, slow hit a tree backing up in the woods so I had to replace it with a hammer head bumper. I also own a 2019 2dr jeep rubicon to off set the large truck lol 😝
Laramie with a powerwagon option? Sooo....heavier duty frame and lockers and unlocking sway and lower gearing and softer springs?
Yes, the only option it doesn’t have are is sunroof and bedside compartments, they put 35’ on it.
There's no such thing as a "Power Wagon option". Never has been

m.th-cam.com/video/5Jb33ZhVx8M/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUecmFtIDI1MDAgdHJhZGVzbWFuIHBvd2VyIHdhZ29u And this
I wonder what they did to increase the payload and tow capacity ?
Did you open the door To check the yellow sticker
sounds like 2500 rebel payload numbers numbers
They didn't. Power wagon with tjat setup has a payload capacity of around 1400 lbs (or less) and a max towing of around 10,000lbs. The numbers he gives are general numbers from the 2500 class
Insane new Ram pickup truck I want to buy.
I really like the wheels. Good looking truck.
Myth buster put it on a subway or train track as a locomotiff the power a train rated warranted claim.#pelham#123#dodge#powered#runaway#train#braked#rating#net#running#gear#top#2025#mods#made#by#2024#mafia#owner#family
I have the 2021 Power Wagon 75th Anniversary. LOVE IT! The shocks SUCK bad. I replaced them all with Carli King Pintop suspension. Disconnecting swaybar still works. I run 37's which make al the difference. RAM makes really nice 37 inch rims with the proper offset. As for offroad, nothing comes close. Lock both axles and disconnect the swaybar and it'll get you out just about anything. I've pulled out more broken down Jeep's than I can remember.
Thee's always the question, "why didn't I get a diesel?" Doesel doesn't come with the Power Wagn. It's 500 more lbs and is far too heave for a truch this capable. The front suspension would really suffer.
How's the ride... stock vs Pin Top? Did you do the radius arms... why/why not? (I have a 75 Anniv. too in Anvil)
@@user-rk2ww2cm4v I love it. Radius arms are required as far as I'm concerned. The factory ones are too short for full articulation and the Carli ones are a work of art. MAKE SURE you get the heavy load rear springs. You have to spec them separately. They make a WORLD of difference in the overall feel of the truck.
@@user-rk2ww2cm4v I can also speak to the fact the install was DEAD ON PERFECT. No need for pry bars or weird cross fitting. Make sure to torque the bolts and mark them to ensure you torque those that slip a bit the first 10k miles.
A dealership near me has the Tradesman with the PW package for $59k.
I'm thinking about getting it.
You should buy both of these trucks. One for rock crawling and one for flying across the desert. I have a 2019 Power Wagon and a 2023 HD Rebel. Love them. Why don’t I have a TRX? This is very embarrassing, but I don’t have any place to park it. My wife’s tractor is always in the way.
Move the damn tractor out of the way! LOL.. But the TRX is an absolute beast.. It seems like it would be a great addition to your lineup
I think compare PW to TRX or Raptor isn’t fair since those trucks are made for desert high speed racing, and the PW is made for low speed crawling (hence people call it the HD Wrangler). Different trucks for different purposes. I don’t believe any F-150 Raptor variant has a front locker.
Overall, good review!
That is a really good looking truck. Your review is amazing as always!
Agreed and thank you!
Anytime brother@@703Speed
Gear selection can also be used to turn off MDS. Simply set it to 8 and you will have full engine power. Unfortunately you have to do it every time you shift out of Drive.
Diesel Dodge Ram Rebel has a much better payload then the power wagon.
Nice truck. For sure 37" tires are a must!!
I have a white PW 2022. I would never pay $75,000 for a pickup truck.i bought my 22 in 23 and saved $20,000 over new. It has been flawless since I got it. Gas mileage is about7-8 mpg! Otherwise a great truck! Awesome off-road! Would not buy V-6 with turbo.6.4L with big-8 only way to go!
I just bought an almost loaded PW in Canada. 2024. $84k CDN. $63k usd.
I'm thinking of getting this beast for working in the muddy oil and gas fields of northern british columbia and also very cold temperatures like -30 to -40 C so need heated seats mirrors etc block heater also options?. Would need a 3 inch lift though, does that option come with it? What would be best tires? Thanks
It comes with a 2” lift standard.
@@Kanakid Thanks that would work too because the other stuff this PowerWagon can do.
Do those white lights on the side of the dash stay on flashing all the time ? Or is it some sort of feature to warn you your low on fuel for example ,,Because I'm thinking about a new truck but if that is a constant thing then definitely taking the Power Wagon off the table ,,let us know please
It’s 11 mpg here in ft collins co
I have both and honestly I love both just as much as but are totally different. I only get 10.5 mpg on both shockingly lol but I only drive the PW in V8 only. Yes the trx is more fun but the the PW is a different type of fun and drives perfect on 35’s with a aftermarket steering stabilizer bar and is a must upgrade if you ask me(if I wanted to drive without one I could if I did high end suspension mods but am not going to spend 10,000 to 15,000 to just be able to drive the truck without a steering stabilizer bar).
Care to elaborate on the upgraded steering stabilizer? I have a PW on 35s and it seems fine?
Love the truck but the tremor was a better /cheaper option. I need a nearly $100k 2500 truck to have a slightly respectable payload. When I’m rich, I’ll buy one of these as my off road truck to compliment the Tremor.
So you ended up buying a Tremor super duty?
@@703Speed yep. RAM prices for comparable trucks were up to the moon.
I've saved up $60k.....well $47k and a trade in worth $13,000. I'm just starting my search for a good used 2021-2022-2023 PW. What should I be looking for?
MPG 12 city / 16 highway, my personal experience.
Great video
Great detailed review.
Good review bro
Yea, sir, i would buy a PW with a leveling kit than a TRX.
Power Wagon i would buy but in my Country i need a Semi-License for it
so i need to go to the TRX
Sooo... save up some of the gas money you are going to spend on the TRX- (10 mpg ) and get a CDL big boy !
Shockingly capable? Why would that be so shocking
They put the dial shifter in a power wagon 🤬👎
Yeah, I had the option of the manual transfer case, but figured literally everything else was electronic, why not? My first 2 Power Wagons were manual transfer case and hopefully I don't regret it 😊
skip them both and buy the ram 2500 6.4 rebel.....as owner of both options shown....save your money and a headache Rebels the way to go....leave yourself room to build it your way and save thousands
That's the only Ram truck I'd buy! But, would have to do something with that awful looking front grill!!! Lol maybe something from the aftermarket? Obviously just my opinion
Lol
Tough capable truck! Wish it came in a shorter length version.
Bed & cab wise?
The powerwagon decal is high school stuff - pass!
No, never payload is miserable. Toyota Tacoma has a higher payload. My only complaint. If you are not carrying four adults and only going to get groceries your okay.
Jeep did the same non-functional hood on the Rubicon. Pretty lame considering they could have made it functional!
I've never heard someone say "basically" so many times
I HOPE THIS IS THE FINAL YEAR FOR THE OUTDATED HD AND 1500 CLASSIC!!😪
A dial shifter? 😐. It's like Stellantis is trying to drain the soul of the American truck. Fu, Frenchies.
Are the trx and trackhawk in your profile pic yours? Love the hydro blue
@@703Speed yessir. The Jeep is a built SRT, destined for weekend driving and the track. There's a vid with the build specs, in my profile vids.
I have the dial shifter and love it. Doesn’t waste space and there is no need for a floor mounted shifter for an automatic!
Is the 2024 PW a fifth Generation Ram?
Yes
@@703Speed I was at the dealership yesterday. Apparently they use the old body style with the fifth Gen Ram interior and dash. So, it’s a combination. Smaller back seat but in the front seat you believe you’re in a fifth generation Ram.
Discounts are coming. Ram sales are down. Don’t rush it. Good trucks.
Needs bigger tires
What a entry level looking truck for that money! Tremor for the win!
Love it....0-60 in who really cares
👍👍👍
You know what I’m saying?…🤦🏼🤦🏽🤦🏿
12 mpg. Yes, I know. Sucks...
It's all about smiles per gallon
@@703Speed you are absolutely right! And I love my 2019 with this same color.

DUDE!!!! 37+ minutes is TOO LONG!!!! Respect your viewer's time, and your channel will flourish! Brevity is the soul of wit!
Get this into the 12 minute range, and you will crush it! Until then....
Many see the opposite! This is a great channel!!!
@@TH-camFunHandle only people with NOTHING better to do! Suit yourself. I could drive to the dealership and see the vehicle myself before this cat's finished! 😂🤣😂🤣
If you like shorter videos, I suggest you check out Ben Hardy. He has a great channel with the video length you are looking for. I specialize in the longer, more in depth stuff. Thank you for tuning in though!
@@703Speed I apologize for misspeaking in my original comment. I actually have no problem with longer videos, as I watch several TH-camrs who produce long-form content. I'm a big fan of Ben Hardy, been watching him for years, but I disagree that your content is any more "in-depth" than his. You basically do what Ben does, but you take 3 times as long to get there.
Then again... what do I know? I'm in the comments section of YOUR channel. At the end of the day, comments drive engagement... even critical ones, so it's not necessarily all bad. Take care.
I just stumbled on to this channel. I just bought a power wagon that's 7 hours away from me. I love the in depth review! New subscriber here!
