The existing arrangement is that all money remit as VAT from companies located in Lagos is being counted as part of Lagos contribution irrespect of where the goods are consumed. Under the new arrangement the amount will be split between the source of supply and comsu.ption states. But what remains to be decided is how the money is to be shared btwn. If for example the goods are supplied from Lagos and consummed in Kano and the Vat to be attributed to the two states are in the ratio of 30:70 thats ok but the ratio of 50:50 is not be ok for most states. So what Im suggesting we should agree on the sharing rate and observed wheather Lagos who account for bulk source of supply will collect 50%. Presently, all money collected as VAT due to consumption in other states are being counted as part of Lagos contribution bc the headquarters of most corporate organisation which remit the money are located there. That is the why other states are not being seen as contributing to VAT adequately. Thanks
