I genuinely think he's got a couple solo sections (the suona for Wukong for instance) that are baked in and otherwise he's allowed to just kinda do whatever he wants. Because, like... what psychopath scores for a contrabass flute? Nobody asked him to bring that last year, he probably just said "by the way, I'm bringing a contrabass flute" and they just went "okay, I guess we've got a contrabass flute section now."
Fun Fact: Pedro Eustache, a master flautist, played also a significant role in the Dune soundtrack. Hans Zimmer, the composer, gave him the unique instruction to play the flute as if it were the wind whistling through the desert dunes of Arrakis. This direction was part of Zimmer's vision to create an otherworldly soundscape, perfectly capturing the essence of the desolate yet majestic environment of Dune
Flute guy's been with us since the orchestra began, it just took the magic of the Xenoblade Soundtrack to help him be noticed by the world. I hope one day we get a collab with Yoko Shimomura and Pedro Eustache, be it at the game awards or for an individual game because that would go hard.
My headcanon is that this dude and Epic Sax Guy are actual musical deities, who are present amidst us mortals and recharging this world with their spiritual energy so it can last one more year.
I love that, no matter the instrument, no matter if the game itself was not great; Flute guy puts his whole heart, soul and physical being, into playing the sh*t out of it.
I am suprised that he just picked up a Suona, Chinese Ceremonial Instrument, and blow it like a boss, I though TGA would hire a chinese guy to do that, he must have learnt that Instrument just for Wukong
He’s been in Han Zimmer’s orchestra for years. He probably does know how to play that: Proficient in over 600 world-music woodwinds from all six continents • Plays classical flute, jazz flute, and various ethnic flutes • Skilled in reeds, including saxophones and bass clarinet • Performs on wind synthesizers, both analog and digital • Plays unique instruments like the Armenian duduk and Australian didgeridoo Also some of the stuff he has done: Collaborated with Hans Zimmer on various projects • Performed with Paul McCartney, including on his 2018 album “Egypt Station” • Worked as the principal flute for Yanni’s orchestra for ten years • Contributed to over 150 film, TV, and video game soundtracks • Performed in The Game Awards orchestra since 2017
Me and my friends were dying so hard this year when we saw what I could only describe as a bass flute shaped like a four. The man looked so insane every time he was on screen, especially because he had a different instrument in his hands almost every time. There was also the transparent plastic trumpet😂
I am genuinely more excited to see this guy play with his flute every year than I am for the game reveals (except the Onimusha reveal, that actually got me standing up). Imagine making a duo of the flute guy and the rapping monk from Metaphor's OST. Such a wasted opportunity!
Pedro Eustache was performing years ago with Yanni's band back in the forbidden city of Beijing and Taj Mahal of India. He did all sorts of things. He is a top musician. 💯💯
It's so funny how Flute Guy's instrument changes every time he appears 😂For him, there's no distinction between Eastern and Western wind instruments. They're simply divided into 'what he can play' and 'what he can't play
2022 put him on the map for me because XC3’s flutes were so special. Now, every Game Awards, I look forward to seeing him play his heart out. He’s genuinely incredible at what he does. 🪈🎶
I’m going to try interview Flute Guy Pedro Eustache next year! Absolute Legend.
Be sure to ask him how many instruments he can actually play. I genuinely want to know.
Pedro Eustache is the name
The fact they gave him 7 different instruments this year is incredible, dude's genuenly so talented
Even a Chinese instrument
I genuinely think he's got a couple solo sections (the suona for Wukong for instance) that are baked in and otherwise he's allowed to just kinda do whatever he wants.

@@Biscotumlol
I have a feeling what went down is they asked him if he could play 6 instruments at the same time and he told them he would do it if it was 7
More talented than every western game dev combined

Don't forget he played with Yanni too ❤
ya i knew it. he looks very familiar. love Hans Z's stuff. Also I believe him and Tina Guo are Hans favorite 😂
Very informative. This reads like it would be in a Dune collector's edition booklet😊

Ayo, it's THAT GUY?
It's Pedro Eustache, great guy. from Venezuela,..
Saw him live at "Hanz Zimmer Live" such a phenomenal musician!
No he is not. He shall henceforth be remembered and addressed as flute guy. He has been knighted by the game community.
Venezuela created one of the coolest MFs on the planet.
Damn bro from my country? I would've never thought of that

HE REALLY FEELING IT !
lack of a kingdom hearts 4 trailer be hittin the orchestra harder than most of us
Noticed by gamers, maybe. He's been a big part of the orchestra and film worlds for decades now.
2:34 duel wielding flutes is something i didnt know was possible flute guy is the GOAT 🐐
Zoro style next year
He leveled up adaptability
what else was he supposed to do, reload? gotta have a sidearm
He BELTED that Little Trumpet on Wukong theme
Absolute madman
That's Chinese folk instrument..
Suona it is
唢呐
True, but by default it is a pretty loud and piercing instrument
Hans Zimmers flautist, his drummer and his cellist are all in this orchestra
He's really feeling it :)
Xenoblade reference !
My headcanon is that this dude and Epic Sax Guy are actual musical deities, who are present amidst us mortals and recharging this world with their spiritual energy so it can last one more year.
Damn you still remember the sax guy, what a legend he is!
I love that, no matter the instrument, no matter if the game itself was not great; Flute guy puts his whole heart, soul and physical being, into playing the sh*t out of it.
The suona in the Black Myth Wukong theme goes hard
00:31 Oh he just KNEW he was killin that shi
Whats the game/song at 00:31?
I am suprised that he just picked up a Suona, Chinese Ceremonial Instrument, and blow it like a boss, I though TGA would hire a chinese guy to do that, he must have learnt that Instrument just for Wukong

HE’S POWER STANCING FLUTES!!!!

Flute guy along with the Keyboard Synth guy as a close runner up, really brought personality and passion to the performances.
I didn't know he was there the whole time since 2017! But, he became viral in 2022 when he played Xenoblade 3's soundtrack.
Imagine getting viral over the Xenoblade part because he nailed the perfect music of the game but Xenoblade lost best score over Ragnarok 😂
PEDRO THE MAN. THE MYTH. THE LEGEND.
When he play spiderman 2 I'm dying
That’s my fav part he goes off!!
Goated
I love how over the years, he slowly gets even more powerful and gets more and more into it.
Saw him live at Hans Zimmer's concert. Great musician!

MOST BEAUTIFUL MOMENT EVER 🥹
I legit fell out of my seat when he pulled out the fucking Suo Na this year for Wukong
Protect that man at all cost
He's the main reason why we watch TGA. Screw trailers, cameos, awards... we want flute guy!
If there was a Deadshot of flutes, it's him. HE was dual weilding flutes!
I cried listening to this 0:58 years ago.
The flute is important part of the game, and He nailed it.
People in gaming we must protect at any cost: Sam Lake, Henry Cavill, Kojima, Sven Vincke, this guy.
Dont forget, we are as gamers have to be protected at all cost too
@@saintst_rauss3034no, we are expendable

This is talent and you can tell that he loves every second of his job.
Bless whoever was responsible for getting Xenoblade Chronicles 3 into the Game of Year category in 2022.

Pedro the The Goaty !
Flute guy has to stay. The same for the Muppets and Lorne Balfe
I want to see 2 old Muppets roast Geoff again next year! They saved TGA this year with their roasts and told everyone's feeling during the show.
@ Waldorf & Statler
Dang the budget from each yeat to 2024 is amazing :)
This guy need an award
This was the video I needed. Thank you
He utterly killed 2022's lineup. Xenoblade 3, especially is when he took off, we were eating good that year.
I would kill for a video where he's breaking down/discussing all the instruments he played that night.
Flute guy is one of the reasons i watch the VGA, the other is for the trailers.
The Game Awards wont be complete without Pedro, the flute guy.
This man is the true Star of the game Awards
Awesome guy!
Amazing ❤ we need to make Epic Flute guy a thing now 😂
This is amazing!! We were commenting while watching live, I’m so glad this exists thank you!
You can tell he loves his job😂😂😂
That Suona play still gives me goosebumps
One of the reasons I enjoy watching the Game Awards! He’s the goat 🐐 of the whole show!
As a fellow Flautist. I am proud and love him
Thank you for uploading this! I was looking for this guy video performance 😆
He never misses
Very talented guy, respect all the time.
Give this guy a Flute of the year pls.
He's cool, but I didn't know TGA got Tina Guo to perform back in 2017 as well. That's pretty cool!
I saw this guy live with Hans Zimmer. True professional, wonderful musician
Thank you for this. Flute guy was cooking. I wanted to see more of him on the screen XD
mvp of the orchestra
As long as he keeps fluting I’ll keep watching 🎉🎉🎉
Flute guy my goat fr
Pedro Eustache was performing years ago with Yanni's band back in the forbidden city of Beijing and Taj Mahal of India. He did all sorts of things. He is a top musician. 💯💯
When the flute guy shows more passion and talent than the actual game developers
Dude, I am still amazed at the games for 2023 they were all so good and their themes were amazing
He puts all his heart on his performance
It's so funny how Flute Guy's instrument changes every time he appears 😂For him, there's no distinction between Eastern and Western wind instruments. They're simply divided into 'what he can play' and 'what he can't play
This is the most hilarious thing I have ever seen. 😂😂
Love Flute Guy!
I love him man , yesterday i always laugh when he's on camera , he nailed it again this year
I love the look of the base flute I wish my band has it
dude dropped this 👑
He has god's lungs.
This is the best mvp

Best part of the award is the flute guy he gave all his best
These guys are the best part of the show!
Flute Guy is just him
Grande Pedro Eustache, extraordinario músico venezolano.
Yeah this dude was awesome. I would be, not caring about what was going on. But when he popped up. Locked in 👏👍
He stole the show when I saw Hans zimmer too. Kudos
this guy reminded me there are actually f*ck tons of different brass instruments
I can feel the love! 🥲
wAS WAITING FOR HIM
I need a full version of that keytar and flute cover of the Balatro theme, stat.
this dude is Hans Zimmer's friend btw
2023 flute guy was on another astral plane
一声唢呐,开启悟空!太喜欢了!
This man blows harder than anyone.
This is the video that we needed, not the one we deserved!
Omg, latin America representation 🎉🎉🎉
The Wukong bit was PEAK
Where can I find him playing the flute with that lady in the red dress from 2021? I can't find it in GA 2021 anywhere
That thing he played for Spider-man 2 is a hunting horn.
My theory is that the rest of the orchestra barely knows that guy. He just shows up once a year.
THE MAN 🔥🔥🔥🔥
He needs to get more recognition or his own TGA award 😊 or maybe performance
Literal chills
He should win something this year.
Idk how, but i feel like he's gonna end up in a video game himself.
Wow 0:14

beer for the flute guy!!
