So powerful, and the sheer beauty of the instrumentation that transports you across time and space. It definitely makes me think that when these notes are related to "evil" in the Western world it surely must be in relation to a fear of the Arabic and Persian world. There is nothing evil in this tuning, nor the notes, this is God speaking to us in a language we can understand.
thank you for writing and reflecting on the music! 🌷I personally agree with what you wrote about this music being able to transport you across time and space, and I take it as a compliment when people feel it through my performance as well.
I closed my eyes and just envisioned so many ancient lifetimes; the Sahara and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. What a magical feeling, it helped me drift right into sleep, thank you for this
thank you very much Ross, for listening, caring, and commenting! And the Ouds Sebastian is making are surely remarkable, expanding the potentials of musical expression on the instrument.
@@boubannegar I salute you both, you are both precious. maybe one of you is willing to tell us in what tuning is this excellent tune. Thank you and good luck.
@@Audionomono Thanks for the kind words! by 'in what tuning' were you thinking of the modal content? in that case, it is in a mode that in Persian music is labelled as 'Dashtestani' and 'Bayat-e Kord' both being subsidiaries of Shour.
@@boubannegar Thank you for the answer and for your time , and for the information you gave in it, but perhaps I did not formulate my question correctly. I wanted to know what notes the oud is tuned to. In other words, how do you tune your oud in this performance?
@@Audionomono Oh, I see! I almost always tune my Oud from treble to bass as follows: c g d a G D (the two bass courses one octave lower than the 2nd and 3rd strings). The Oud I have has 11 strings; five double courses and one single bass. Is that now the information you were looking for? I hope it was helpful :)

The oud is not like any guitar I play. Fingering is harder to hold and needs strong fingers. The 'hammer' strokes are deliberate and unforgiving. The rewards of finally getting right is immeasurable.

I believe the roots of metal is here in Arabic Oud music. The open or drop tunings. Heavy stuff. Sounds awesome in the Oud
Cool observation
This is Persian / Iranian, but yes, 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I believe the same.
True, but do hear raag bhairavi of Indian classical maybe a metal adaptation may give another perspective
