Lovely masterful playing. I love the sound of modal music. Not like a western jazz approach to modes but a much older one where each mode has distinctive “flat” and “sharp” elements. I met Erkan Ogur in the 90s and he showed me some of these materials. He used a regular flat pick. I have never seen a flat pick with a handle. Where can I get one?

So powerful, and the sheer beauty of the instrumentation that transports you across time and space. It definitely makes me think that when these notes are related to "evil" in the Western world it surely must be in relation to a fear of the Arabic and Persian world. There is nothing evil in this tuning, nor the notes, this is God speaking to us in a language we can understand.
