one of the best track of the game! When I was younger I always listened the tracks in my bed, secretly, because my parents didn't appreciate that kind of sound!
Ophélie Michaud Hahahaha, awesome. Best bonus of the Ridge Racer series games is that you could listen the music by putting the gamedisk in your stereo.
I really miss old DnB, the stuff today is great but I notice most of them basically have the same drum loop or other instrument in the background whereas I find a lot more variety in the stuff from back in this era.
That's because they're trying to move away from chopping up sampled drum breaks and using their own original kicks, snares and such, but sadly they keep sameish patterns.
For someone who only played Rage Racer and none of the other Ridge Racers, what are the best tracks from the soundtracks? They captured that 90's jungle sound perfectly, with just a touch of Japanese magic...
sevishmusic Well... if you're asking for favorites from the PSX era of Ridge Racers... Ridge Racer- Rare Hero, Rhythm Shift Ridge Racer Revolution- Drive U 2 Dancing, Grip, Over the Highway, Lords of Techno, Rare Hero 2 Rave Racer- EXH Notes R4- Practically all of the soundtrack... ESPECIALLY Motor Species.
sevishmusic I know this is almost a year old but ridge racer 6 on 360, r4, and the psp games have my favorite ridge racer soundtracks. Also check out the tekken soundtracks if you like this type of music
oval track high speed BARELY holding on. no game sense has captured that sense of speed and hanging on for dear life. when i needed a win this was my go to song.
I remember not wanting to use a certain car in the this as it sucked on serving tracks so I thought it’s was just trash. Broke down and used it for the oval track and chased 1st place down with a fury!!!! This game was a beast!!!!
man o man, this was another one of my fave tracks. Brings back the truent days from school ;o . even though im nearly 30, i still love a bit of ambiant jungle on occasions lol
This song catalyzed my love for so much music that I enjoy now as an adult and I've only realized it recently. I played this endlessly as a kid around age 4-5.
Absolutely fantastic DnB track someone wrote for what was honestly a mid-tier PS1 game. I've still got my copy sitting on a shelf in my bookcase with all my other PS1, PS2, and PS3 games.
Coincidentally I listened to the soundtrack last night, I went back and repeated this one a couple of times and have to say it's grown on me over the years, excellent track.
The beginning of this sounds very similar to Studio Pressure's (aka Photek) "Book of Changes" an old school jungle/drum & bass track featured on one of LTJ Bukem's mixsets
Not sure why but this have Gill's Judgement Day/Nile/Psyche Out theme vibe mixed together from Street Fighter III New Generations/2nd Impact/3rd Strike.
I used to carry the cd in my scooter wich i had build in radio set when i turned sixtheen and drive around, but my scooter got stolen under my nose from someone who wanted a test drive, i was to nice to people, vut we found em and raporrted em to the police and nothing happened never got it back, dont trust government bro, they had them in the station, all parts where sold away, LOSERS HAHAHAHAH i listen to the songs till this day That game had me playing with my dad and i love that mini cooper car with the good handling the music makes games for me, i listen to game music alot. I can recommend Command and conquer music and call of duty mw2019 lobby 4 theme
This a nice cool unbelievable song.......(part of it is), and part of it is whack and a Lil bit weird. i think everybody knows what part of this song that I'm saying is cool and what part of this song that I'm saying is whack and weird, but yeah the person that made this song could have and should have made the whack and weird part of this song a little better, then the song would've been perfect and magical!

Alex Wijnmaalen that was the best part lol
Nah, playing the games while listening to the music was ;)
I love u Alex
Really ? 😂 But It s a relaxing track not heavy metal haha
I love how the japanese composer of ridge racer games in the 90s always makes the best 90s drum n bass jungle music
We need to bring back old school breakbeat quickly as possible!!
Amen brother, spread the word 🔥
Pure old school Drum n Bass... *-*
beautiful
Listened to this through Sony's 3D headphones for the first time today, blew my mind. Love to all! ❤
The breakbeat of this song is just mesmerizing
love this song, game and era. beautiful times the 90s and this music brings it all back to me. nice to see others feel the same
The song that got me into DNB!!!!!!
Me Too.

Me
2:30 is so awesome. Got me into music creation myself
Thanks for sharing. I would love to sit down to try this myself one day.
Do it bro
1:45 sounds a lot like Psych Out from Street Fighter Third Strike.
it was 2008, when i played it and i was 7 years old. my father presented me after buy it on used game store!
You hit the jackpot with this soundtrack and I was 35 back then, now at 47 still rocking the tracks ;)
1996, ah man! I was listening to music before heading to sleep and came across this old gem. So many childhood memories man.
I really miss old DnB, the stuff today is great but I notice most of them basically have the same drum loop or other instrument in the background whereas I find a lot more variety in the stuff from back in this era.
Not as much goes into the new drum n bass unfortunately
That's because they're trying to move away from chopping up sampled drum breaks and using their own original kicks, snares and such, but sadly they keep sameish patterns.
Look up drumfunk if you haven't already. That stuff is the real deal
Breakcore stuff and Jungle is still going strong with using all kinds of classic breaks
This is insane nostalgic
Timeless 👌

rr4 was an amazing soundtrack
BRIAN FRANCIS SPARROW Sure is. Loved all the psx RR series soundtracks and the Ace Combat series too. Move Me is my fave from rrt4.

V has a lot of underrated techno bangers
oval track high speed BARELY holding on. no game sense has captured that sense of speed and hanging on for dear life. when i needed a win this was my go to song.
Lindsley Alderman My go to song for that race was Vulcano Vehicle. I needed those dark sounds in the epic conclusion of the championship.
I remember not wanting to use a certain car in the this as it sucked on serving tracks so I thought it’s was just trash. Broke down and used it for the oval track and chased 1st place down with a fury!!!! This game was a beast!!!!
last time i played Rage racer was back in 1997, i was 12 =)
This soundtrack is really headbanging
rage racer was the first game i got for ps1. absolutely fantastic game. this and type4 are the best OSTs
man o man, this was another one of my fave tracks. Brings back the truent days from school ;o . even though im nearly 30, i still love a bit of ambiant jungle on occasions lol
NAMCO has always had their way with music across all their games. Best production/producers ever. Still waiting on a next gen Klonoa.
Still my favorite RR track across all games
This song catalyzed my love for so much music that I enjoy now as an adult and I've only realized it recently. I played this endlessly as a kid around age 4-5.
Absolutely fantastic DnB track someone wrote for what was honestly a mid-tier PS1 game. I've still got my copy sitting on a shelf in my bookcase with all my other PS1, PS2, and PS3 games.
the classiest of classic 90's dnb
Coincidentally I listened to the soundtrack last night, I went back and repeated this one a couple of times and have to say it's grown on me over the years, excellent track.

Very similar vibes as Street Fighter 3rd Strike soundtrack.
A coffee and a game of rage racer .. perfect day
I love listening to this song!
best track!!! love DNB!!!
これ一番好き
ONE NOTE from the amen break is all I need to hear
reminds me a bit of gill's theme in 3rd strike
Esta canción suena mejor cuando vas corriendo y el cielo comienza a ponerse de noche en el juego 2:30
"Rage Racer gets you going"
Raet 93 get going in 23 rd place.. on you’re marks.. get set.....
Only soundtrack of a game I kept in memory... great tracks... and brings back racing memories^^
nice music
Thanks for dropping by, hope you have a great day. 💜
So this is where I first heard dnb.
What a tune from my childhood, me n me mate used to play this, good memories ❤️
"Drum and bass?" "No, we need jungle, I'm afraid."
This is good in and out of this game.
The beginning of this sounds very similar to Studio Pressure's (aka Photek) "Book of Changes" an old school jungle/drum & bass track featured on one of LTJ Bukem's mixsets
Book of Changes was absolutely an influence here
my favorite song to play in class 6 lakeside gate
I always chose those this track when it was the last race
Not sure why but this have Gill's Judgement Day/Nile/Psyche Out theme vibe mixed together from Street Fighter III New Generations/2nd Impact/3rd Strike.
Because it’s all basically DnB
They sampled the same DnB loop
Love this!
Stilo my favorite Race track
sounds like Akuma stage in third strike
Because they're both basically DnB
Respect
Wow! Memories!
God DAMN
"God Bless" so you don't break one of God's commandments.
~Take care

I play this song when I'm playing Forza Horizon 4
I wish this was on a RPG game.
レースBGMはこれかSilver Streamしか流さない位にすき

This one is so nasty
Jungle
This song gives me some auto modellista vibes.
always choose this song in class 6 lakeside gate in manual transmission against those fast cars
I used to carry the cd in my scooter wich i had build in radio set when i turned sixtheen and drive around, but my scooter got stolen under my nose from someone who wanted a test drive, i was to nice to people, vut we found em and raporrted em to the police and nothing happened never got it back, dont trust government bro, they had them in the station, all parts where sold away, LOSERS HAHAHAHAH

I remember playing the ridge racer on n64 those were good times
