Thanks for the video, I managed to do it without LAN cable part and the specific cable. You can get any VAG cable from scrapyard with two lines which are yellow and blue. You connect them to 5V connector in the green socket and you are good to go. The under arm charge only unit wont work anymore. For the LAN part you can use activator by congo. Which can be found in audi forums. With odbeleven/vcds: 1. byte 19, turn on bit 6 and 7 2. C0 byte 19, turn USB to usb_ipod 3. Under adaptations/UDS adaptations, vehicle configuration, turn on Google_GAL and Apple values. If im not lazy, maybe ill update this guide/make a video

I found out: black connector is for the aux-port (only for VW). If you use it in your Audi car you can't connect it (different connector). I removed it because I don't use the aux port anymore.

There are a few others available but they are slightly different, they have a purple/pink adapter port on the back with the green one instead of only the green one. Do you think one of these would also work? The part numbers are 8W0035708, this one has two usb ports as well. The other one has partnumber 8W0035708a, this one is a USB-C version. I looked into this a bit more and I think its a regular data cable, with terminals for +- which he gets 5V from the end of green plug. As far as I know activation can be done with SD card and ODBeleven. I am planning to do this sometime next month.

Hi, it will work the way it is shown, you can activate it also for your Audi B9 2018, I personally prefer to have the original system for Audi because you can sill listen to the music or watch videos while using the same Audi menu and you do not have to switch between a third party system and your Audi menu all the time, additionally the cabling required is much less.

@@denisz2895 I have also 1 usb port(charge only) in my car, nevertheless as I disconnected the previous green connector, that port is not working anymore, I have intalled instead the usb port that I placed in my glovebox. If you want to go back to original you just have to unplug the new green connector and plug back the old one that I left hanging, it is as easy as that.

@@matejpetras2016 Hi, unfortunately that will not work so easy, Audi has done it so well to make a change in the hardware and the firmware, so the people that would not buy this option will really have a hard job. The charge port only will not work because the usb needs a special circuit that will be recognized by the main unit, that is why the people should buy the two ports, or if want to do it cheaper use the option I used.

@@aminhamid5384 After 1 month of use, I can report the following: Carplay connection via cable is not always working from the first attempt in my car. I have to attempt plugging in the cable in my iPhone few times until Carplay will finally activate.. I am certain this is a iOS problem and not a problem with the USB socket. I purchased a Carlinkit dongle which emulates an iPhone to connect to the MMI wirelessly via Carplay and through this device Carplay initiates without issues everytime I start my car.. First, I suggest you check if everything is ok with your coding (Activation Keys, Ports enabled etc). If that is OK, I suggest you try a different certified cable and maybe a diferent phone to validate. It should work eventually. In case you notice the same irregular behaviour as I described above, then I suggest you purchase one of these dongles which in my case got rid of the iOs issue.
You need to remove the cables with the metallic pins and then insert the new cables red and black with its metallic pins. It is not just removing the cable.

Hi, in my video you can see at 0:11 the picture of a compatible MMI, if you are not having Navigation and only one slot for SD, then it is not compatible.

I understand that replacing the wires on pin 3 and 4 was made, they should have the 12v power and the usb unit has a converter to 5v
