  • A ride-out through the lovely Hertfordshire countryside on a tuned BSA A10 'Bitza'. A 1961 A7 chassis with a '59 A10 engine. SRM bottom end, nitrided crank, 9:1 pistons, spitfire cam, gas flowed head etc. Has '72 Suzuki GT750 4LS front hub and rear hub too - both with race linings. Bike absolutely flies, and stops pretty quickly too!
    A real joy to ride :-)
    (I start opening it up at 1min 45 seconds)

    How marvellous.
    On those roads one might imagine one were back in the 1960s.
    And no vibrations coming through the camera.
    That is a very enviable bike.

    Working on an Ariel Cyclone, which has an A10 mill, of course! Going for a virtual ride like this is VERY inspirational! Perhaps the four dopes who gave this a thumbs-down should invest in a British bike so they've actually GET IT!

    I live in Southwest Florida USA and what time we had a real bad rainstorm and on my way home from the motorcycle shop the water was over the carburetors of my BMW 600 airhead. Made it home though. Riding that bike through the English Countryside you could almost imagine that you are back in the 1950s. Yeah I know wishful thinking.

      Thank you. Its a real joy to ride. Everything is sorted & as it should be. Really reliable, fast, excellent brakes and sounds sweet too!
      I'm now getting this TH-cam channel going again and will do more videos soon - including a 'tour' around the BSA - so do subscribe so you don't miss them 😊

    All A10 frames were stamped A7, for some reason. Can't beat the sound of a good one on song, thanks for putting this video on here.

    “Oh to be in England now that April is there.” I envy you the wonderful countryside that you have to ride through. We have some very nice roads in the part of Canada in which I live. But the ones that I enjoy the most are the ones that allow me to imagine I’m riding through rural England. I don’t have the physical resources or skills to keep and old BSA on the road. But I may buy a Triumph retro sport and let my imagination take care of the rest.

    BSA 650 twins were great bikes. What more do you need than that to ride around a beautiful English Countryside. And listen to that beautiful sound it makes. I don't care what the Harley Fanboys say a British bike has the best exhaust note that there is. It is Pleasant where the Harley is just loud.

    The bike sounds GREAT quite the ball'sy ride on those narrow wet path like roads. Apparently there are no animals to saunter out of thar abundant cover all along your route ? Deer are a constant issue here in the rural areas.

    • @t20racerman
      @t20racerman  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Patrick Szabo Only get little Muntjac deer round here, and not that many of those. 😁

      On standard gearing?
      I have a 63 WestCoast SR, 9 to ones etc.
      It had decent power until I overgeared it to reduce vibes. With a 23 tooth engine sprocket it's smooth to 60 but a bit sluggish.
      Yours sounds a bit sharper, could be gearing?

    Your bike runs great. What method do you use to set the timing (a cigarette paper ?)
    No mirror. Did you get sick of watching those Triumphs disappear in it ?

    • @t20racerman
      @t20racerman  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, still use a cigarette paper - it works well.
      Not just Triumphs that I leave behind 😆😆

      The microphone pics up certain frequencies better than others, particularly the higher 'rattly' ones. It's actually a fairly quiet engine 😊
