A black man should narrate this...
Agreed. Most others Ive heard are spoken by the actual 100 year old slave. Male n female. It works better.
I stopped listening because of that wasn't the case. Totally caught off guard with this one
At least a man
@@joegeorge3889 Agreed, at least a man.
An American man should be reading this.
A black man should have been reading this.

no dear, just so many are not interested in our history. Very sad. Spread the word, our history is important. Ask your local schools to encourage reading of the slave narratives.

Hard times in a Slaves life.
Very interesting in my opinion.
A black man should have done the narration if not a black man at least a man
I would agree with both points.
She read it good,
The accent is throwing me off...
How about the starkly abrupt female voice? Nice of her to narrate though.
Give thanks to Mr. Mason and Louis Hughes who wrote the truth; slavery was far from American values but a curse on the nation; all I can say; is that it brought the Slaves to rely on Jesus to see them through their tortures.
honestly optimistic is poverty, as Napoleon teaches

I'm so sorry, but I can't listen. Her voice is so starkly abrupt and does not fit the sex of the heroine. I do thank her for her kind efforts none the less. Blessings
