I love listening to this. Makes you think about life and its circumstances. Should be required in classroom. All can benefit from this.

This problem is still issue today. Solutions still applicable today. Thank you for the upload and sharing.
25 years after the Civil War. That’s an important time mark regarding Chestnutt’s analysis.
I'm here in 2021-listening in
Many of our youth today would get stuck at the words Negro and Mulatto and cry racism and not listen. Thus they would miss the reasoning of some people who have thought longer and harder than they have.
Saying for each other what each other can’t say.
As a result of the woke problem which is far worse than the term” Negro problem “. Which no doubt even though penned by black Americans at the time can and will be misinterpreted before even reading
it’s a shame they can’t change the title so that 60% of the population can still access this immensely important book
Truly needed for the sociological. development of those who THINK!
Wow this has less then 1milliion views...eye opening
Stanley Cabiness it has less than 9,000 views after 4.5 years! If you uploaded a rap video of black women with big asses twerking, cussing and fighting, you would get 1 million views in 24 hours.
Who cares?! Cardi B cool because she’s owning what she wanna do. Most of us still struggle with simple daily decisions. We ask permission for things that are already ours. So who cares? When my black leaders wrote these book, they don’t know nothing about a view. These books are written for those who are fed up and dissatisfied with the lie. The ones who are uncomfortable and want the truth.
Also, women in most rap videos are non black...the whole colorism thing sooooooooo yeah
Exactly.
Says a lot.
@@dwb2518 I know I listen to them often... When our people start reading and stimulating their minds. It is only then they will become free #reporationsnow2019
I'm only 20 minutes in and already I can tell that you didn't bother listening.
Reperations? Yeah, you can have reperations. Go and ask the West Africans who enslaved and sold your ancestors for it. Ask the North African Berbers who enslaved Europeans, during the same period, for ours. Thanks.
Since you posted that comment, I hope you stimulated your mind enough to learn how to spell "repArations" (which you don't deserve since neither your nor anyone alive was a slave or slave owner) properly. I hope you've also looked into Professor Tony Martin and his information about the involvement of Jews (who probably benefitted the most) in the transatlantic slave trade.

@Clarence Houston • "Can someone"?
Oh the pretentious have come
The biggest challenge is not idolizing Thought Leaders as infallible. We all have blind spots.

Chestnut deals with voting rights. Relevant to today.
Is it a black or a white man talking ?
It sounds like a black reader.
@@daniellegfnySounds like the proctor from the GOAT test from Fallout 3.
I’m optimistic about my race but also not bc they’ll forever blame white ppl. We choose to ignore IQ and genetics. Dysgenic to our core unfortunately
