- Fujisawa Hosai was the first 9-dan pro in the modern ranking system. He played 3 Jubango (ten game) matches against Go Seigen 9P and could be called Go Seigen's arch rival. There was a period when he experimented with Manego (mimic Go) with White. He had a relentless fighting style and was nicknamed "the dump truck" which seemed to mean there was no stopping him once he got some momentum.

Great to see you well again. And with very valuable content, as usual.
Thank you kindly!
Great to see you back and what an interesting and intense game you had for us today!
It's a bit overdue but thanks for getting me hooked to this game! Have a hot beverage of your choice
Thank you!
Wonderful to have you back, Michael. Thank you for everything you have done/will do for the English speaking go community. You are a true pillar of the community!!
Very clear and precise comment as usual from Michael. A pleasure to follow it. Thanks a lot.
Thanks Michael. You continue to be a vision and inspiration for so many of us go players back here at home. Any contributions to english language go media content is so valued
I wish You a good health! Thank you of great video records in youtube!
Thank you for taking care of yourself and prioritizing your health!
oh my God I'm glad you've recovered. covid is no joke.
I love games from your past :)
Again, supreme clarity and attention to things that matter at kyu level as well as higher. And always the humility to declare and explain mistakes. It is reassuring for all players that the tendency for all player levels to make mistakes means that we need be less fussed about subtle variation differences.
Just catching up on some of these older vids. Wow! 🤯 Insightful!
Interesting game! Well played
Amazing game thank you!
Excellent videos as always! Congratulations on defeating Covid. 05:46 "If you´re human..." :D loved that.
Fascinating game, and great to have you back on your feet.
Thank you for sharing! Insightful commentary as always!
Good to see you back! Wish you good health mr. Redmond!
Glad you are feeling better mate!
Good to see you! That was an interesting game, you did some good reading and hung in there. Great fighting spirit on your side too!!
thank you for the review!
14:05 lol you patted my back playing b1 at f13 before moving on, as I was debating arrogance again about “what I’d do if I was him” :^B
Ahh this review was wonderful. Congratulations though I couldn’t help but root for the opponent for some reason. You had a lot of luciferous comments such as
“cutting from underneath didn’t change the center”
So pity to see so few views on such a great analisys
wonderful to have you back, and free of covid!
i look forward to more 20th century (and perhaps older) professional go content!
great to see you back finally. stay safe
I'm late to the party but I hear like 90% of audio in the left channel only. Anyway, thanks for sharing this unique game!
are you sure, for me it works fine
Very Nice commentary. Interestingly, the lack move at c6 is what AI sensei tells me should be the move played. I suppose I'm only using the free version of the AI, but still, I doubt it can be too bad of a move then.
I'm happy to see you again. It's good to hear that you're well too.
So when were you going to tell us that you were a shounen main character back in the day? Putting the beat down on 9P's like it was an average Tuesday. What other OG events are you hiding from us?
Incredible match
Happy to hear you won your KOvid fight ;) Covid attacked you but it miss read and lost the capture race ;)
マイケル先生お久しぶりです。
This became a very complex fight in the end. Very subtle differences in the variations.
“I can molest the black group“ lol interesting twist in WeiQi nomenclature
Glad that you're back! Don't pressure yourself for new videos, but I'll be looking forward to them!
At 10:48, you said "Black plays the other [...]". Is the next word a Japanese term? Sorry, I couldn't understand it.
That's what I translated to "big point". An Oba is a large point in the opening.
@@MichaelRedmondsGoTV Thank you!
Dear Michael,
When I watch your videos, I always appreciate your good manners and your composure. You truly have a lot of great human qualities, and you are also a learned man.
I invite you to take a look at Islam and its teachings, for you may find it interesting and fulfilling
With all respect,
A brother in humanity
Wasn't Fujisawa Hosai known for playing 3-3 and similar 'unusual' openings way before AI?
He liked to play the 3-3 point.
34:25 haha what was that jump. The eye squint says "error, error" hahah 😂
