Yep. I flew on the ATR-72 many a times in Vietnam during the 2000s for shorter hops between cities. Sadly it was retired from service with Vietnam Airlines in favor of various assorted Boeing/Airbus options.
@@MGAviationNZAircraftVideos well the main prop engine planes that were used over here where the Bombardiers, in terms of passenger use. Around 2010 I want to say they retired them because they just weren't very cost-effective. I think they still use them for some cargo use but that's about it.
Fun fact: I've been on an ATR-72 before. Because of camera speeds, the look of the props spinning isn't always accurate. From my memory, this camera captures how the prop would look to the human eye. :D
I had to choose between earlier flight or late flight and the only early flight was an Atr like this 😂 I chose the later flight which was boeing 737 Im really afraid of atr, I feel its like a small plane that a strong wind or some light turbulence can cause chaos 😅😅
@@MGAviationNZAircraftVideos Thanks Sir for such an interesting information because only recently I came to Silchar with my family and parents from Calcutta by Indigo flight and the Aircraft was Airbus A 320.Before taking off from Calcutta Netaji Subhas Basu Airport the captain of the Aircraft Mr Sangket Parikh warned us of turbulence after take off.And our Aircraft flew through thick clouds and trembed and shook like anything and even bounced like a tennis ball 🙄.We all passengers were dead silent and all cabin crews were strapped to their jump seats. While we reached Silchar Khumbirgram Airport still thick clouds were there so the captain of the Aircraft adopted the go round approach and thanks God we landed smoothly. However after getting down from the Aircraft I saw an Atr Aircraft taxing down the runway for take-off . Seeing this a question in my mind cropped up the question was compared to Airbus A320 the Atr Aircraft is quite small how this Aircraft will be able to tackle this turbulence which our Aircraft had to experience 🙄?
@@MGAviationNZAircraftVideos I have an insane love to this type of plane, because where I live, the runway is 1428m long, only enough for this kind of turboprops, being the only plane coming to the airport, and yes, always I fly, I fly on this planes. They are just perfect
Awesome video. I love those ATR 72-600 engine sounds especially when they are taxing and full throttle to take and also cruising at altitude.
Oh same here especially during Taxi 🤤🤤

I was about to comment this
There's nothing like those propeller engines. I really wish they would bring those back here in the US. Very nostalgic and downright euphoric video.
Thanks for watching ✈✈✈
I had no clue US didn't have ATRs
@@MGAviationNZAircraftVideos you're more than welcome. This was a great historical a video in a lot of ways.

@@MGAviationNZAircraftVideos we have dash 8s
turboprops have an unique charm to them. Love hearing it
They certainly do 😊😊
Awesome video💯. Love the sound of the engines they sound awesome💯. Love Atr 72-600.
Thanks for watching 😊
great video! such a beautiful noise!
Thank you 😊
Amazing video! Why do you barely fly out of Gisborne? Love the noise that aircraft make, music! Fantastic job mate 👍
I normally drive to Napier as its much cheaper to fly out of NPE than it's in Gis
Excelente vídeo. O ATR 72-600 é uma beleza de aeronave!!
Good aircraft indeed 👍
The love I have for the humming those propellers make when they're fully powered up for take off...
I love that Sound ✈️
The sound of the twin props sound like a rock guitar
Interesting way to put it 😁😁
❤ that was amazing ❤
Thank you

Man! This thing is loud! PW turbo engines just doing it!!
I flew an ATR Across Maldives one day, it was a blast! 🔥
That's awesome 😊😊
As a Maldivian, I'm happy to know that you enjoyed it :)
It's weird that at low rpm the propellers release this scary deep sound and when they speed up it sounds like a normal fan spinning very fast.
I like that sound 😁😁✈✈
very true and it sounds awesome
1:07 love that sound
Still waiting! Um much love ❤
i hear these birds 5 times every day
Very nice 😊
Flew to Wellington on one last month awsome holiday
Hope you enjoyed your holiday 😊
Totally was awsome
I sat in 2A when I was on ZK-MVV
Probably one of my less favorite seats for filming tbh
I can agree
Atr72 good to see out of the window
Thanks for watching

I have been on these 3 times
Hope you liked the Flight
Why do ATR engines make a humming noise?
Lol I had this flight attendant
I have had this flight attendent
👍👍👍
Umm waited for the pa after take off...
they are unbelievable quiet :- O!!
His mic when they went fuul power on take off ima head out
lol
It looks like a dash 8
It's an ATR 😊👍
Is this Aircraft fit for tackling turbulence? I will be really grateful if anyone can answer me this question 🙏
Yes and no, it really depends on the severity of turbulence

The sound you hear while taxiing feels like you're in hell which is cool!
Interesting sound they make but a good one
DUDE ATR FULL POWER IS MUSIC
Definitely 👍

I heard that ATR's used to be banned in cold climate regions because of icing problem they had, is that true?
Yup it is true.
I don't think they do anymore. Might've been the 500's? Idk.
No it's no true
I think the problem was solved in the 609 series
