i see where Jon’s coming from when thinking the tracks are similar and typically that would bother me but for some reason i didn’t mind it on this record
Surely not, like I really enjoyed this album and that is probably my favourite song from it but with the lyricism and flow he had on that song I really don’t see how that’s possible
@@You-nx8eb I'd like a reference on that I like polo g alot and would be surprised if he freestyles that . Hes said In multiple other interviews that he is mostly a pen guy , not mad or nothing just genuinely interested
@@callum2473 If you dont believe that you can freestyle lyrically then listen to all Juice Wrld freestyle. There are a reason that we call him the freestyle goat.
Spot on with your reaction here and I enjoyed the added self reflections and talking points. Thanks for doing this album and I hope it makes everyone listen and talk about these subjects like you said.
loved ur reaction jon! its so true polo G is one of the most important artists right now so raw and honest and hes showing he has what it takes to make some truly timeless emotional hip-hop in the future! you should check out the single from Lil Durk ft. Lil Baby & Polo G - 3 headed goat, a lot more bar heavy from Polo
I was excited for this album but I didin't expect it to be THIS good. Album is amazing and now I'm hype to see what polo g's career looks like from here. Album had me on the verge of tears cause the man just know how to paint a picture and the stories he's telling are too real.
You summed it all up extremely nicely with "it's so important just to fucking listen." The bluntness, pain and emotion he puts into these verses is incredible. The empathy point you made was spot on too. Polo is special man. Saw him in Milwaukee (I live in Wisconsin in the states) when he opened up for Young Thug and MGK. Talked with some people who drove like 8 hours to come and see him. Not to see the headliners, who are some of the biggest rappers in the game, but this kid from Chicago who was fresh off of dropping his first album without a ton of buzz, other than that Pop Out track. Seeing that type of effect that he has on people is honestly amazing, and you can already tell he's only going to continue to drop special, impactful music.
I agree with you. A lot of the tracks sound alike and he uses the same melodical flow. But I think that he'll be able to grow a lot as an artist. He has his own kinda style.
He can do the wordplay, he’s actually pretty well known for that. With this album here I think he focused more on the sound than anything else, which it did all sound good, but it was a bit uncharacteristic of him. I still enjoyed every track though.
Was gonna say, his first album Die a legend symbolises a time in my life last year and it’ll stay with me forever... would be great to see you react to that album too!
My top 5: 1. Heartless 2. 33 3. I Know 4. Wishing For A Hero 5. Flex or Beautiful Pain Great Album imo! Could be a bit more diversified but overall I‘m really feeling the energy and sould behind the melodies and bars🔥🖤 Polo G is a great combination of lyric and melodic.
I thought the songs sounded the same in the first listen but when I listened a couple more times the songs all sound much different now. The album went from a 6/10 from the beginning to a 9/10 after a couple listens for me.
You also have to remember he’s only been in this for like 2 years, this is only his second project. So he’s gonna evolve with his sound, flows, structure, bars and just being able to mix it up
honestly surprised me how good how an album this was. fire af. you should do a reaction to travis scott’s live for performance for the ACL fest tho! would love to see your reaction since you’re a fan of his
Just some backstory: 21 is named after juice’s death and 33 for nipsey, also the twins he speaks about halfway through the albumn was two teenages killed in 2015
all your criticisms are very true but i love polo G regardless, i personally cannot wait to see him in 5 years the man is 21 years old currently. this man will be a legend some day. love the vid
if people consider X and juice a legend he’s already a legend i’m not saying X and juice bad but y’all just wait for people to die to call them legends 🤦♂️
Please do some NLE CHOPPA reactions although he might not be the best lyricist he is strong in switching styles and flow. His last project cottonwood was very good but the singles before hand are where it’s at!
Jon, just wanna say- please don't burn yourself out with reactions etc. We all know you're a people pleaser but if at any point it gets to you then please take a break. You've been grinding so much and listening and reacting and editing videos etc probably takes a hell of a lot of time. Great video as always though my man ❤
I know it’s probably a little far fetched that you’d see this but you should give his funk flex freestyle a listen or some of the stuff from his debut album where he is being more lyrical
Jon! I’m not sure if you could do this, but if possible, react to the live Coachella Weeknd concert from 2018!! It was phenomenal, and you’d love it. I would watch the whole thing I don’t even care, or you could split it into multiple videos if it’s too long, but wow would that be a great video.
If you haven’t already please react to g herbo (lil herb) specifically his albums welcome to fazoland (albums long so songs like write your name, fight or flight, mamma I’m sorry , and 4 minutes of hell) , his album humble beast, and strictly 4 my fans
His albums are long so I’ll give good songs such as the songs mentioned on welcome to fazoland, yeah I know, man now, l’s, hood cycle, intuition, lawyer fees, and party in heaven
