- All seems to be going well for the Beets Crew in Paradise Hill until a mechanical failure puts the entire operation on hold, as their sluicing machine has to be disassembled to fix the issue.

I was surprized to see the replacement parts were available, the fact they didnt quite fit is down to the manufacturer? or is it?
They aren't just replacements parts available, they are custom made parts that are cut and machined specifically to match the tolerances of the machine. They aren't just some manufacturer's spare parts that came out of a warehouse somewhere.

The replacement sprocket was probably fine, most likely that the old belt is worn and matched the old belt.
New belt and sprocket and it they will probably line up fine
Okay so why did the sprockets from the other end of the belt fit then? Clearly the cut of the new gears was wrong. Imagine being you, some guy who's never dealt with issues like this pretending like you know what's wrong because you've replaced a starter on a Honda civic a time or two.
@@truthseeking3818 correct I’ve never worked on mining equipment. I’m going on my knowledge with other issues Iv come across that where Iv had sprockets not match up to old chains but fits fine with new chains.

How could you run such a costly operation and not monitor or replace a sprocket for 25 years?
This is a temporary fix. Tony will fix it correctly at the end of the season (sarcasm).

@@c103110a we're not asking the guy to have eyes on every single situation, we're just wondering why he doesn't keep a check list of things to keep track of and some routine maintenance every now and then.
Beats me. Weekly inspections along with routine maintenance is the only way to keep large operations running properly.

You can’t loose something you don’t have. The gold is still in the ground. He just hasn’t mined it yet. 3 days of stockpiling or removing overburden, we’ll see how it goes by the end of the season.
No but it's costing Tony labor and as the hours pass no gold coming in he still has to most likely pay the wages of his employees which cuts down on profits at the end of the season.

Tony owns the claims...TONY LOSES NOTHING...Tony just won't earn that $200,000 this time but it's not like it was 200K on a pallet and then the pallet went missing because that would actually be "losing" it. There is NO LOST GOLD, it's just not yet found this time.
Tony deserves to lose a little money, he don't care if other people lose because of something he did

That's how these things go actually. Anybody who's worked in this business knows how often things go wrong.
