Hi All, i made a video a short while ago, now saberforge also has grab bags and the saberforge youngling YDD made in china hilt at 60 dollar available which i did not cover in the video at that time because it was not yet available.
Michael Leo first saber was a us mystery box for 75.00 and got really lucky. got a sound saber witj emerald driver and v4 sound. dark arbiter. Absolutely love it. next three were stunt sabers but all very nice with a few extras to bring up above 75.00 value. the big difference between mystery box and grab bag is grab bag won't get you sound but might get an expensive hilt. you can choose color of led. and pay for covertech wheel as well.
It's not the prettiest or the most elaborate but if you bought it outright with the same features as the Saberforge Apprentice, you're saving $100. For another $100 dollars you could have sound in the Ultrasabers Lightsaber. The way I see it, Ultrasabers allow you to customize the hilts yourself whereas Saberforge do it for you for an extra $100 without telling you.
I got it in a mystery box and I thought the same thing. I then realized that its just a big silver blank canvas. I have done some work in customizing it and gotta say, I am very happy with it now. For someone who doesnt want to do any customization, yeah real boring.
But in all honesty, I can't condone a lightsaber advertised for dueling to not have a set screw to hold the led module. This is imho one of US's major flaws
I think like most companies both saberforge and ultrasabers are out to make as much money as possible with various tactics and with saberforge i think they employ more of an acceptable tactic of producing a good hilt but over change when it comes to the electronics portion either if u get a plug n play or choose the assembly service i feel they will be over changing u 1-2 hundred dollars. However UltraSabers will nickel n dime u to death with any little option and i think they purposely make their sabers very very basic and undesirable to start with so the customer will pick "upgrades". However u still will have that basic looking flashlight like hilt in the end and i just dont think it is what most people envision when they think of a lightsaber. To get the most from your money you really need to just buy an empty hilt and make the electronics yourself. I never done it before and i just spent 1 hour following a utube video soldering together electronics for 140 dollars in parts that is almost the equivalent of the 400 dollar hero electrons saberforge sells and in some respects its even better.
Hoki Govendar I want an empty Revan hilt and install my own electronics. I was going to do a mystery box but ya I dont want a 100 flash light. I already have those.
Michael Leo well just get an empty hilt from somewhere and this is the video I used to make my Electronics th-cam.com/video/4oWYacD2Rwk/w-d-xo.html you just get all the same Parts he did and just do it step-by-step it takes 40 minutes to an hour pretty easy you just have to Google that lead module he's using because you have to order it from a different website if you want that exact one but if you want a regular one where you will have to solder on your own resistors which I think I'm going to do for my next time around because that lead module that has the resistors built-in is pretty expensive and I don't think that worth it since you can easily solder on resistors for like pennies a piece
It seems like Saberforge is form and Ultrasabers is function. Personally I could justify the higher cost of Saberforge at the sacrifice at some practical functionality if the precision in quality was much more consistent. It is a goddamn shame because Saberforge has some beautiful hilts. But craftsmanship is important when you are dealing with that much money. No one likes feeling cheated when dropping several hundred dollars on a product and it's a hit or miss whether you get a lemon.
The detail in even the cheaper saberforge sabers is amazing, but what sucks is their price. You have to pay two tiers up just go get a sound saber, and to get sound you will be turning a $60 lightsaber into a $240 lightsaber.
The good thing about ultrasaber hilts are how simple they are. Why becuase you can customize it how you want. You can do weathering, leather wrap , etc... All cheap customizations, you can also check out the master and apprentice show where they take basic sabers and make them look like a amazing sabers with cheap parts.
Thanks for this, I have a Saberforge Imperial Knight. I’ve been wanting to get a few more sabers for a while but been wondering how the Ultrasabers are. Thanks again.
The thing is, I don't care if Ultra Sabers are cheaper or better or whatever, I'd never be caught dead with one. The reason why is simple: They're fucking ugly. SaberForge Sabers looks awesome. That's litterally the only reason I need to prefere SaberForge over UltraSaber.
Saberforge is more appealing and easier to get what you want. Ultrasabers website is hard to use, but their prices and customer service is good. I think 🤨
Saberforge customer service is absolutely horrible! If I had a nickel for every time I was told (or read) to steer clear of Saberforge (because of their terrible customer service, questionable business practices, and shoddy electronics), I'd be listed in Forbes magazine as one of the richest men in the world.
Hey man I just wanted to let you know you helped me out a lot here. I have limited funds and it sounds like if I want a cosplay set up I would go for a warrior tier or maybe veteran tier from SF. But for everyday solo practice I'd just get the US and for dueling as well. Thank you very much.
While Saberforges sabers are more detailed and looks great. Ultra sabers are more affordable and you don’t wait 3 weeks to get it. I think ultra sabers would be great for first time users as it’s affordable but saber forge is more for the hard-core duelist or collectors.
there is a reason why saberforge is much more expensive when it comes to the cheapest ones. you might as well just buy a flashlight and buy a blade from one of those stores and just attach it onto the flashlight than buy the ultra saber one.
There are some great designs from ultrasabers that will run you about $85 (105 if you want a longer and more durable blade) but the point is not all of them are flashlight designs and some look really good while also still costing almost 100 dollars less that a saberforge hilt
US are like only full contact saber, but the saber forge hilt look like something you can put on a stand on ur desk or on ur wall, and fighting with it too. Jedi are building their own unique saber, and there is so many choice in saberforge, so u really can build ur own saber like a jedi or a sith.
My biggest issue with Saberforge is the price. Their lower end ones look like they cost $75, but that's just for an empty tube. If you want it to light up, and why would you get a lightsaber without light, it's an automatic $100 more. Want sound? $180 more. So this effectively means their lower end ones cost the same as the mid to high end Ultrasaber ones. $175 over on US gets you some really interesting looking designs
Saber forge customer service is the worst I’ve ever seen of any company I have ever dealt with. They do not return emails. To me they are scumbags and you would be a complete fool to do business with them. The owner of that company is obviously a coward.
nice review of the companies. i love us mysterybox. got a emerald driver v4 sound dark arbiter, i know I'm a lucky s.o.b. for that. but great choice if you don't have a particular saber you want. and don't care about led color.
Yeah. Ultrasaber Mystery Box is great. One of friends got a Raven with Diamond sound, and tricked out. $75. Instead of the nearly $500 it would have been with all the bells & wistles it had.
I bought a $75 mystery box saber from Ultra Sabers and the second time I went to access the batteries, every single one of the wires broke at the splice points. I’ve tried contacting them about getting it repaired or replaced, but they seem to be ignoring me. Wishing now I had gone with Saber Forge.
4 ปีที่แล้ว
I have the same problem with them ignoring me for months, but Im sure there is some sort of a problem, cos everyone talks about USs' great customer service.
Hey guys, first time buying a saber, was interested in buying a mauler from US and was wondering if it would be better to buy an empty hilt and put in the electronics myself or buy it with it already installed?
US get the basic sound and single color for each hilt. Well worth it. The staff option is good if you want two hilts cheap. I added up price for a single hilt at $350 or staff version for $450. Buying two seperate hilts would cost $700+... But the staff option guve yah two hilts for only an extra $100 of the single hilt....
I bought a Ultrasaber Sentinel LE, orange blade. Basic sound. Heavy blade. I've seen people customise US sabers to themselves. Leather wraps, copper cable wraps, etc... Still cheaper than a saberforge hilt.
In my opinion saberforge is not as good as ultrasabers, both are awesome. First Point: Costs At saberforge, hilts start with 60$ for an empty hilt with good design, light is 100$ extra. sound is 180$ extra. at ultrasabers you get for 60$ a stunt saber (light, no sound) and a very basic hilt. sound is 100$ extra if you choose obsidian lite soundboard, or also called basic sound. both of them have good electronics, but if you take the highest, saberforge is around 100$ more expensive. Second Point: Shipping Ultrasabers shipping is one week to germany (thats where i live) and is around 30$, with saberforge its 60$ and a month or longer. Customization Options: with saberforge, you can choose between over 20 different finishes and weathering, at ultrasabers you can only get the dark version or the crimson / azure / gold version. Customer Service: Ultrasabers customer service is a great option to ask anything you want. i often used it and always had a fast and king answer, (thanks zeta!!!) and thats what you want. as i dont own any saberforge hilt, i never was in the need to use the customer service, but what i heard about it was the worst i could hear. i heard some things, from not being kind over blocking them to saying they were to dumb to use the product. but one point i have to say is that i heard that they changed in the last year. so in Summary, i only can recommend buying from Ultrasabers because i only own something from them. with saberforge, i really am Undecided because they really have appealing designs and good electronics, but the shipping takes to long and i have to pay extra taxes, so i personally would recommend ultrasabers for beginners and saberforge for real nerds.
Guys I'm on a $200 budget and I have $50 at the moment, should I wait and save up $200 to buy the chosen from SF or just save up $80 to get a ultrasbers initiate v4
I can tell you this. My first lightsaber is an US dark initiate v4 and I am not dissatisfied. Shipping was quick. I have an ultra edge heavy grade and I am going to buy another so I can duel with a friend.
SNUGSATION C . Hi. If you are on tight cash budget, the Ultrasabers are better value than SF. I ordered from both companies to shipping to Singapore and it's not cheap via SF total price . Ultra offers better value hands down with many designs with blade to fit your cash flow.
Grab yourself an US, find some leather scraps / cut offs either online or at one or your fancy leather stores (wish we had those in the UK :\ ) for cheap and make it your own.
Did he just say he has a lightsaber in his left hand but in reality it’s his right hand and then he said he has a saber in his right hand but in reality it’s in his left hand
i bought three sabers from ultrasabers for dueling and once the sabers made contact they kept shutting off on their own was really disappointing especially since i spent about $800
Star Wars Advance That's what I was wondering as well. Im looking into buying my first saber. I want good quality electronics, but prefer the better and more diverse hilt designs of sf over ultra sabers.
I have to somewhat disagree with the philosophy of Ultrasabers being all about dueling. I have some of the lower end pieces, and while a few of them are okay or even great for dueling, there are many more that I absolutely do not feel comfortable fighting with. In the end it's always you get what you pay for, and while I don't own a Saberforge yet (even though I'm ordering one from their Etsy page next week), I think they're much more about a balance between looks and dueling.
I normally don't prefer one thing over the other. I refuse to buy Saberforge after learning how unpleasent the guy in charge is. I'd probably get banned if I put what I actually thought about him. Shame that. I'd love to try the whip blade.
Ima very poor boy so ultrasabers is way more bang for your buck. I’d recommend it over saber forge bc saber forge has way worse customer service, less practical dueling hilts, and ultrasabers are known to break less and have better quality material wise.
As a Member of The Saber Legion / TSL... I went with Ultrasabers for my first saber kit, because we're more focused on dueling. As a Sith, I could care less about aesthetics or bling of a saber... "Does it work?" "Does it suit the battlefield?" "Does it get the job done?" Sith Pragmatism.
you can't compare a random grab bag vs a custom saber and tout "can't beat the price". I sure can, I can pay more and get EXACTLY what I want. Also, ultrasaber looks like a plumbing pipe that was milled on a lathe.
Hi I'm a first time buyer and am currently deciding between a champion tier chosen from sf or a electrum remnant and I'm not sure which to get. Do u have advice?
Skidush I highly recommend Electrum products, it's well made, you get so many soundfont choices, and it's really affordable for everything you get but that's just me, good luck with your new saber :)
Sophia Vs. The World thank you! I am in love with the sf designs but keep hearing horror stories about customer service price and quality. Also, u supposedly get 3 sound fonts with sf champion and in electrum u get 1 and pay the rest
Skidush Yeah Saberforge is iffy with electronics and they have pretty bad costumer service so it's a gamble, and while you do pay extra for more fonts I find it better in the long run as they are better than Saberforges soundfonts in my opinion
Skidush No problem! Its always exciting getting a new saber! If I remember correctly Electrum sabers also has a Bluetooth feature so you can connect your saber and phone so that's pretty cool :D Enjoy your new saber!
Robert Jr saberforge is 2-4 weeks and they don’t answer emails. And they charge your card before sending your saber witch is very unprofessional. So they take your money and refuse to give you updates. I can’t tell you about ultrasaber.
baroon haresh all of the hilts depends on which blade you want same as any saber company blade strength is what determines whether its duel ready or not
First grab bags from ultrasabers are 70 dollars not 55 also ultrasabers come standard with a blade you can pay an extra ten dollars to make it stronger while it is cool that saberforge comes standard with a charger in the warrior set up I don’t find that an extra 100 dollars for a saber WITHOUT sound is worth it especially when ultrasabers offers hilts at a price of 55 dollars which have the same advantages except for a covertec wheel and charging port
Video was made 2 years ago.... FYI back then you could buy a grab bag without the blade. Alao you pay 100 dollar more but you skip over the facts that with saberforge get a 18650 battery and a quad cree led, not quit worth 100 dollar but a relative big upgrade from the ultrasabers grabbags electronics. Welcome to the hobby lol
RebelChumps I was unaware you used to be able without the blade so I apologize for not knowing but you skip over the fact that ultrasabers offers an in hilt charger as an extra not a requirement that means that if I don’t need one I don’t have to get one and while a quad crew led is nice it again is not necessary and should be an extra that is why I like ultrasabers better because I don’t have to get these things if I don’t want them keeping the price lower which for me is important I was not skipping over the fact I was talking about why I do not see it as worth it. No need to insult my intelligence about it just because I haven’t been spending money on lightsabers my whole life. These are opinions welcome to the hobby of respecting them
The problem with US is that they nickel and dime you for everything. If there's one that you don't particularly like but it's close enough, you have plenty of upgrades that are incredibly overpriced. Especially if it's MHS compatible and you can get different parts. Don't like the emitter? Well you can replace it with this one for 30 dollars. Don't like the pommel? Well you can have that one for 25. Want a better activation switch? Just 25 dollars good sir! Oh you don't like the basic sound font and want more? Well get the V4 soundboard. Basic sound is already 75 dollars, and the premium soundboard is 40 more, but you get more sound fonts!! Oh you wanted yellow for the LED? Well that's not a problem, just add 20 more dollars! Oh and I hope you didn't want flash on clash. Oh you did? Well that's all right, just another 35 dollars for ya! What's that? You need to charge your lightsaber in a hurry and don't want to take out the batteries and wear out the pommel? Don't worry, we got your back for just 85 dollars on your recharge port. Now instead of your 229 dollar lightsaber, it's 444 dollars. Saberforge also has this problem, but it's to a far lesser extent. The electronics are expensive, but if you want sound it automatically comes with three sound fonts, and a built-in option menu - something you'd need an emerald or diamond driver to get from US. Plus, the hilts are better made and look better, even if you get a lower end saber. It looks like something that would actually be in a movie or official show. So, if you get an upgraded US with what I just described, you're spending at least 300 dollars no matter what, and that's without shipping and taxes. But if you get an apprentice saber from SF and get the veteran option, the first one with sound, and exactly what I just described, it can be 259 without shipping and taxes. Of course another problem with SF is their shipping. Not many people know about their Etsy store so they use the regular site and get fucked over. US will send it usually within a week no matter what. However, it all depends on what you need. Do you need something solely with combat in mind and not caring about aesthetics (almost to a fault)? Or do you want a balance between looks and combat. Either way, and this is coming from someone who's bought about nine US from varying price ranges, but it already seems that SF is the better deal. But I'm ordering one from the Etsy store in the next few days from the Eco line, so I'll see which one is better.
ben siedentop I'm not saying your words are incorrect by any means I guess I have a hard time understanding how saberforge can have a stronger blade than ultrasabers. with how much of a beating these can take....I'd be surprised if there were stronger blades available.
Yea ultrasabers are cheaper, but their ugly as fuck. Saberforge is almost worth the extra $80. Its like a metal tube with a light in it or an actual hand crafted masterpiece
Saberforge loses everytime...in stock variety of affordable parts and completed sabers...Saberforge loses every time. Ultrasabers wins every time...sorry if you don't like it but it's the objective truth.
Hi All, i made a video a short while ago, now saberforge also has grab bags and the saberforge youngling YDD made in china hilt at 60 dollar available which i did not cover in the video at that time because it was not yet available.
Isn't a mystery box a better deal comes with a blade and a (rare) chance of sound for like 20 bucks more?
Michael Leo first saber was a us mystery box for 75.00 and got really lucky. got a sound saber witj emerald driver and v4 sound. dark arbiter. That silver “hilt” looks like it was designed by the most boring person alive. I have seen torches with more flair and interest.
It's not the prettiest or the most elaborate but if you bought it outright with the same features as the Saberforge Apprentice, you're saving $100. For another $100 dollars you could have sound in the Ultrasabers Lightsaber.

Chris Harrison its not worth the sacrifice tbh
you feel that way, but take a look at their mid level and high end hilts...very different
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm gonna call you general grievous because of how many light sabers you have XD
Haha not enough :P
one day you have to make a video showing us all your saber collection
Zaran666 - He recent had a video with his collection. The $3500 lightsaber collection video
But in all honesty, I can't condone a lightsaber advertised for dueling to not have a set screw to hold the led module. This is imho one of US's major flaws

17ll3 x214 sucks that they’re cleaned out nowadays

UltraSabers philosophy vs SaberForge Phil-osophy :P
But which one is better in just pure Durability in dueling?
If he can tell the difference between left and right. Powerful Jedi will he be.
My biggest issue with Saberforge is the price. Their lower end ones look like they cost $75, but that's just for an empty tube. I like both but the saberforge looks cooler and the blade is more durable for me with the saberforge. I have thick wald and heavy grade.
Gotta love the constant eyebrow raise
haha thanks, i never noticed it :P
Rebel Chumps I cant not notice it
Saber forge customer service is the worst I’ve ever seen of any company I have ever dealt with. They do not return emails. To me they are scumbags and you would be a complete fool to do business with them. The owner of that company is obviously a coward.
Did you design that hilt or is it a premade one for the Saberforge
Like=Saberforge
Comment=Ultrasbers
*IN MY OPINION, VOTE ULTRASBERS*
Good to know
Which company should I get my first lightsaber from? The price doesn’t matter.
Electrum sabercraft
Wow! That silver ultra looks like a toy in comparison. Like a thick soda csn. The other looks very authentic.
Can you do a Darth Maulgus lightsaber saberforge vs ultrasabers plz... I want to know which one is better
Also does the little box on the juggernaut hilt bother while dueling
I’m buying a ultra Templar saber beacause it cheap and it’s to reap lace my saberforge renagade for now I have to say I like them both
nice review of the companies. i love us mysterybox. got a emerald driver v4 sound dark arbiter, i know I'm a lucky s.o.b. for that. but great choice if you don't have a particular saber you want. and don't care about led color.
Yeah. Ultrasaber Mystery Box is great.
One of friends got a Raven with Diamond sound, and tricked out. $75. Instead of the nearly $500 it would have been with all the bells & wistles it had.

In my opinion saberforge is not as good as ultrasabers, both are awesome.
First Point: Costs
At saberforge, hilts start with 60$ for an empty hilt with good design, light is 100$ extra. sound is 180$ extra.
at ultrasabers you get for 60$ a stunt saber (light, no sound) and a very basic hilt. sound is 100$ extra if you choose obsidian lite soundboard, or also called basic sound. both of them have good electronics, but if you take the highest, saberforge is around 100$ more expensive.

Andy Ahn ultrasabers grabbag! Best choice
well made informative video!
I’m looking for a lightsaber I want one from the movies but I want it to be good quality for dueling & sound which site is better guys?
E Quinn everything is sold out at that site 😂😂
E Quinn okay well I’ll give one a shot. Are they as quality as saberforge & ultra savers in sound & blade light
Guys I'm on a $200 budget and I have $50 at the moment, should I wait and save up $200 to buy the chosen from SF or just save up $80 to get a ultrasbers initiate v4

E Quinn of course
Did he just say he has a lightsaber in his left hand but in reality it’s his right hand and then he said he has a saber in his right hand but in reality it’s in his left hand
i bought three sabers from ultrasabers for dueling and once the sabers made contact they kept shutting off on their own was really disappointing especially since i spent about $800
cant you buy a saber forge empty hilt and a blade and just fill it with the ultrasabers electronics
Star Wars Advance That's what I was wondering as well. Im looking into buying my first saber. I want good quality electronics, but prefer the better and more diverse hilt designs of sf over ultra sabers.
Oh shit
I think some of the parts from ultra sabres are too wide for that, but I don’t really know
I have to somewhat disagree with the philosophy of Ultrasabers being all about dueling.
"Does it work?"
"Does it suit the battlefield?"
"Does it get the job done?"
Sith Pragmatism.
A sword with an edge is better than one with a gem
you can't compare a random grab bag vs a custom saber and tout "can't beat the price". I sure can, I can pay more and get EXACTLY what I want. Also, ultrasaber looks like a plumbing pipe that was milled on a lathe.
I know you like to be descriptive and thats great but when you do a comparison please light up both sabers and do a side by side comparison please.
Smood47 no worries let me know what you like to see and I show it in the next comparison video
Sophia Vs. The World thanks a bunch!
Skidush No problem! Its always exciting getting a new saber! If I remember correctly Electrum sabers also has a Bluetooth feature so you can connect your saber and phone so that's pretty cool :D Enjoy your new saber!
How long does it take to get one after you order it???
Robert Jr saberforge is 2-4 weeks and they don’t answer emails. And they charge your card before sending your saber witch is very unprofessional. So they take your money and refuse to give you updates. I can’t tell you about ultrasaber.
Does the saber forge one include sound effects with the warrior package
Nah it just comes with the hilt, blade, and led light
I in no way mean any offense, but you mixed up your right and left hands.
Which saber from ultra saber is used for duelling
baroon haresh all of the hilts depends on which blade you want same as any saber company blade strength is what determines whether its duel ready or not
First grab bags from ultrasabers are 70 dollars not 55 also ultrasabers come standard with a blade you can pay an extra ten dollars to make it stronger while it is cool that saberforge comes standard with a charger in the warrior set up I don’t find that an extra 100 dollars for a saber WITHOUT sound is worth it especially when ultrasabers offers hilts at a price of 55 dollars which have the same advantages except for a covertec wheel and charging port
These are opinions welcome to the hobby of respecting them
Ultrasbers hands down
The problem with US is that they nickel and dime you for everything.
So its quality vs quantity
yep
Hey, how is the brightness in comparison? Is one brighter or are they about the same?
Rogue01 Saberforge are brighter than the Ultrasabers default colours, if you want the Ultrasabers to be the same you'd need to pay 15 dollars more
Sophia Vs. The World yeah I meant the tri-Cree ultrasabers I forgot to specify sorry. But yeah if I did that they would be the same?
Rogue01 yes
which one is better for dueling?
Saberforge blades are also stronger
The V4 Blades from saberforge can take a beating. If you're worried about breaking a saberforge hilt, buy an extended warranty.
ben siedentop how so
I mean ultrasabers are pretty strong from what I've seen in this video clip th-cam.com/video/hZPNNTDyBUk/w-d-xo.html
ben siedentop I'm not saying your words are incorrect by any means I guess I have a hard time understanding how saberforge can have a stronger blade than ultrasabers. with how much of a beating these can take....I'd be surprised if there were stronger blades available.
Are we not gonna talk about how fucking dumb that ultrasaber looks compared to the saberforge one?
Ultra Hilts seem too clean lines and shiney. They are nice looking and obviously good sabers but dont have the authentic Star Wars look.
Thats true, i agree, you need to tinker with US sabers to get that star wars gritty feel.
Yea ultrasabers are cheaper, but their ugly as fuck. Saberforge is almost worth the extra $80. Its like a metal tube with a light in it or an actual hand crafted masterpiece
Hehe Saberforge are not actually handcrafted either, but estatically i like them over the ultrasabers.
help me with a decent saber and affordable
Saberforge loses everytime...in stock variety of affordable parts and completed sabers...Saberforge loses every time. Ultrasabers wins every time...sorry if you don't like it but it's the objective truth.
I got my US in four days
My friend got his SF In a year. And I. You first duel his broke
Ultrasabers are so ugly but have better almost everything else
