4 our Gramps 4 the memory of all those car journeys singing along 2 U make my pants wana get up & dance ....... You really where the most amazing Grandma ever. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Dr. Hook was my grandmother's favorite band. She always listened to them. Hearing this reminds me of her and brings back fond memories of my childhood. Hard to believe nearly 10 years since she left us
Im 13 and love old songs... im not one to have my pants on my ankles. I live in the country and thats what i listen to, including acdc... Awesome music..... HATE RAP
Ya gotta love them. We actually do a line dance to this at the senior center. We grew up in a rockin' era and we're still rockin'. I hope the next generation has as much fun as we did and still do!!!
I'm 35 and I too inherited a love of Dr Hook from driving in my Dad's car around our little village in the UK - I feel ya! He will always be with you especially when you play these songs.
Yeah that's what is so lovely about him and Dennis and the band as a whole.. Whatever the song is,serious or fun, they give it their all and look like they're enjoying what they are doing...
Forget about medicine, forget about counseling, forget about any other supposed 'cure' for depression, a bad mood, a bad day, a bad ANYTHING! This song and video will cure it! WOW! Just WOW! I loved it 40 years ago and it's even better now.
They still do small town tours together. Im from Alberta, Canada and they did a show a little while ago in a bar where im from and seem to pop up every couple yrs at the same bar. I missed it but heard it was really good.
I Love these guys... they were country rock disco pop blues folk R&B and they had some awesome hits and some reeeeaal! corny ones too like this! dig it! what ever happened to them? time fades us all away! But their music still kicks!
I was a bit to young for the live concert era for Dr. Hook but I love everything they have ever done. I would have loved to seen them live. They are just the best entertainment stage performance I could want to see and I love there songs and the energy they put into their music.
OMG!! I had this as a 45 when I was just a kid. B side to Sharing the Night TOgether I believe it was. What great memories!!!! I listened to this song over and over and over!!! I love it!!!!! Thank you so much for posting this, you made my decade!!!!
I saw them at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake Iowa.. around abouts 1974. It was quite a night. I think my all time favorite song was "Sing me a Rainbow Josie."
Thought I only liked a few of Dr Hooks music but was I wrong, started listening to " Cover of the Rolling Stones" and I went on and on and on. That was a long stretch ago and you they were great.
@50srockandroll Well, it sure seemed like it, just saying....But he still hums it when he comes to dinner five times a week...hey, thanks for doing all the arithmetic sp? We've had a lot of fun with it anyway...
Wasn't there another version with "you make my pants want to get up and dance / you make my Levi's rise" ? Or was that just junior high erection humor we used to sing on band trips?
Ah Ha Ha Ha Ha!!! Aubrey, I am that older sister, my little sister used to call this song "pants dancin" !! I am going to send her a snip it of the audio just to remind her...see what she says!! Too funny. Ya, Ray is having a great time up there!! Love it, miss thise days!!
