Thanks Reuben for another great review! Do you think an stx 9'8" 30" width 4" could be a good solution for me 75kg and 187cm, to use for small touring and surf? My weight is too much for this board?
You're welcome. Thanks for the comment. We think the STX is a great option for you, so long as you have done some paddling before. It might take a session or two to adjust to the size, but it will perform nicely in the surf. Touring wise, it might feel quite slow, but that's due to the length and thickness. Enjoy your time on the water! Beau
Hi, Why its the ring under the front side? I just got the board and I find it a litle inestable in comparision with the voyager 12.6. Could be posible to buy a bigger fin to get more stability?
Hi. The ring under the front side is a towing eye and yes buy a bigger or more Swept back touring racing for a little bit more and straight on track and stability. But to be honest I would say after a few sessions you will definitely get the hang of it. Thanks Reuben
@@SUPboardermag Thanks Reuben, I try the "Naish Inflatable SUP Fin Replacement", what a change.I love it....(at the top of my car 24/7). Magnificent playfull board, stable and directional and so lightweight. The red voyager 2020 stays at my garage. love the shows very much, spesial the ones in real trips along the cost.
Hello, thanks for your reviews, so helpful! similar question to one of the below but on the 12'6'', how would you compare the STX 12'6'' with the Gladiator pro 12'6''? just watched your video of the Gladiator as well. Thanks!
Hey Alessandra, good question. I really like both brands of boards. But if you are looking at the Gladiator Pro range the board should be stiffer but weigh a bit more too. The main difference is the Pro boards have 3 layers of PVC on the rails. Im just about to upload the new STX 2021 range video this week so look out for that one too. Hope that helps? Thanks Reuben
Hi, love your reviews! How would you compare the STX 10'6 with Gladiator light 10'6? What would you say the main differences are and which one is better?
Very tough one to decide on that. Both the boards are made well and to a high standard and the packages are very similar too. The gladiator boards have a rear handle which is nice. But the biggest difference is the thicknesses of the boards. The gladiator gladiatorpaddleboards.com/paddleboards/light-106 is a 4.75" thick board and the www.stxparts.com/product/freeride-106/ is a 6" thick board. So if you are a lighter paddler sub 70 kg you potentially will be better going for the thinner board. Watch this video of ours to help understand which is best th-cam.com/video/G_em-BtrlpU/w-d-xo.html . I hope this helps Reuben
Thank you for a great review! Interested in one of the boards for mixed paddling on flat surface, a bit of surf as well to ride with a Naish S25. I weigh 70kg so would you recommend the 9.8 or 10.6 for me? How would the 11.6 tour work with the Naish S25? Would there be any advantage for wing surfing with the Naish S25 with the windsurf edition or will it just decrease the Performance for surf and normal paddling? Keep up the great work! Regards Magnus
Hey Magnus, I believe I have already got back to you about this question, maybe on a different video? Let me know if I haven't already? Sometimes it's hard to keep up with the questions. 😂 Thanks Reuben
The Nino feels like it has a thicker PVC layer and its heavier too. The 3 fins on the Nino are better for getting pushed up the beach and they also make the board easier to turn. And the Nino has a handle at the back as well. Both great boards and have their pros and cons . My daughter is loving the STX more at the moment because she find it lighter to carry at age 6. thanks Reuben
Hey Terry. A very quick pros con list. STX : Light and stiff.- Pump and bag not as good. Blue fin : Strong stiff , good bag and pump. - Heavily and not easy to move around because of it. Build quality and service from brands is about the same and on the water they will both feel very similar. I hope that helps a little, thanks Reuben

At 70kg I'd go with the 10'6" dude, that extra thickness does make a difference. The 9'8" is better geared towards lighter riders - the 10'6 will give you a more stable platform. I haven't got to try the new 2020 ones with the wing but the 2019 worked well with the wing on the 10'6" (I'm 75kg). If you're looking for the S25 wing & the STX board give me a shout through Skymonster.com, happy to help with a package for you mate!
Hey Magnus, At your weight the 9'8 would be great for you but the Touring WS 11'6 would be a fantastic board with your S25 wing. The centre fin box does slow you down a little but because its a slide in box not a bigger US box the drag is minimal. So this might be the one to go for. Hope that helps Reuben

Great review on the boards but one criticism on the the pump , the usb is not for charging the unit they are outputs .
O no... Well spotted Peter. Thanks for the heads up. Reuben

I am totally bummed that these aren't available in the USA :( Same with the
That's a shame they are a very good brand.
On the junior board, how would this compare to the Hatha Nino?

Do the STX 12.6 race have the ability to have windsurfing rig fitted ?
Hmm not sure about that one Stuart! I think not. If I find out i will drop the comment back on here for you. Thanks Reuben
Mine doesn’t Stuart.
