Just recently I’ve spotted my algae blenny chomping off some bubble algae in my tank. It doesn’t appear to be eating it, but rather breaking it loose and I use a net to remove it. This was very gratifying to watch that bubble algae disappear, because I personally find bubble algae to be very unsightly. Thanks for sharing Cam!
Very nice. It's hard for me to buy the product though since it is not available in my country, but thats a different problem. Also heard that Vibrant would do a similar job.
Great 👍 info and practical demonstration on how to get rid of bubble algae Cam. One ☝️ for the library 📚 for sure. 👍🏴 I would say a great go too 👍 reference video.
For those in the US I believe Brightwell “Razor” Is the same product - dosing instructions are identical. Continuum and Brightwell are owned under the same parent
Haven't heard of this product in the US. What's the active ingredient? We have Vibrant over here which was marketed as something completely different than what it really is. Turns out it's just the same algaecide in API AlgaeFix, a product that is only a quarter the price in a different bottle! BTW, you've got the best hair in the business!
Anything that targets algae only is going to be an alagecide. Vibrant is an algaecide but it works for most people. The 4.5 star rating on Amazon, BRS and everywhere else shows that it works for most people - which is a lot considering how much snake oil is sold in this industry. I 100% agree with you though that they marketed it as bacteria when it isn’t.
I’ve used it to remove bubble algae for the first time in my tank, it worked great with just a couple doses. I attempted to use it on a second occasion, but for some reason I did not get any results from it, really left me scratching my head 🤨
I’ve often wondered how similar it is to vibrant. Vibrant isn’t readily available in Australia so I haven’t used it enough to really say if it’s the same or not. Cam
@@GalleryAquaticaTV I was on a reef club call with Jack Kent a couple of years ago and he said it’s an algaecide. They just can’t put that on the bottle because that brings a host of other regulatory issues. Brightwell/Continuum we’re never trying to hide it - Vibrant is the one that claimed it was “bacteria”
Hi wondering how you dose it as it’s different to the way they say on the bottle what’s the reason behind increasing each day and how do your work out how to does a tank ?
I stopped watching as soon as you said treating the tank...why dont people use natural methods such as a fox face or emerald crabs instead the 1st go to is a chemical.
Sorry to hear that you stopped watching. Of course, we fully advocate for natural methods where possible. But you have to realise we can’t get emerald crabs here in Australia. We can’t get imported inverts and there are no emerald crabs on Aussie reefs. And many hobbyists tanks are far too small for housing rabbitfish so this video was a treatment plan to help our local community win the battle regardless. :)
Just want to say thank you , I had this problem and now after 2 weeks I have no bubble algea thanks again 👍

I’m not sure if I mentioned some fish can help. I’ve found rabbit fish to be good at eating it too. Cam

Glad it was helpful!
Hallo,
Thank you for your quick reply. 👍
My learning curve went up. Good info

Yes i dose razor whenever i see bubble algae and in 2 weeks they’re gone. Safer than Vibrant.
Such an easy way to remove bubble algae. Great demonstration thanks.
You are very welcome.
Amazing, I did not know this method! And because is not the same "Kicking Bubble Algae's Butt" than "Kicking Algae's Bubble Butt" 🤣
Haha, that would have been a great title! Cam
@@GalleryAquaticaTV 🤣
Hi I have just ordered this, for my outbreak, does it harm sps?
Also how long do i dose for I have a reefer 170 thanks
You need to follow the instructions very carefully and you won’t harm sps. The only thing that might die is macroalgae like Chaeto or caulerpra. Cam
Starting treatment today ;-)
HI Cam, where do you move or how do you store your refugium algae's while treating a tank with a refugium or algae scrubber
Preferably to another aquarium, but if you don’t have anywhere to put it I’d throw it out and start with new Chaeto after the treatment. Cam
Nice job cam and crew !!
Thanks, it’s nice to be able to show the before and after in the same video. Cam

We dosed exactly as per the instructions on the bottle per 400L. Cam
Great video, what was the name of the sea urchin you are going to put in and do you have any in stock ATM
Diadema urchin. We have them at both stores. Cam
@@GalleryAquaticaTV thanks
Does this product loosen it from the rocks or will it break down the bubble algae? I’ve got a pretty bad outbreak
It loosens and kills and fully eradicates. Cam
@@GalleryAquaticaTV sweet, thanks cam
Will this product hurt a pistol shrimp? I have a 20 gal nano tank with some zena and zoey coral and a goby tiger pistol shrimp pair.
I’ve used it with some shrimps but not pistol shrimps. I expect they’d be fine, but still use with caution. Cam
Man, I could use some of that product, but it doesn’t look like it’s available in the US.
I have beat Bubble and most Algae with "Vibrant" and it DOES NOT, bother my Caulerpa or other Macro's. It does take about 8 to 12 weeks.
What's is the name of the product you used?
Continuum Clean Equation M
Good to know
Is this the same as Brightwell Aquatics' MicroBacterClean ?
Not sure sorry, we don’t get Brightwell in Australia
Its the same as Brightwel Razor
In Germany its not to find this Product
Would you recommend this method for smaller tanks?
Yes definitely. Cam
If your corals grow like your hair, youll be a rich man😂
Hallo,
what is the name of the means to kick the bubble algae ?
Continuum Clean Equation M. Cam
Hello. Can you tell me the name of this prodact? Thank you
Continuum Equation M
What is the name of that striped fish that eats aptasia
It’s called Australian Stripey, but in Australia we just call it Stripey. Cam
Is one side of the tank using a freshwater light?
Good spotting! It’s actually an LED which has lost the blue diodes so looks ugly white/yellow. Cam
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
wow cool
