Haven’t listened to girlpool since Before The World Was Big, I thought they had gained a new member! very happy for avery and their transition, i’m loving the sound a deeper voice can bring to girlpool. I will always miss just the two of them with their bass and guitar harmonizing, but the addition of the drums and keyboard make an entirely different vibe that still screams “GIRLPOOL WAS HERE” :)
Each incarnation of Girlpool is so very different. I fell for the band hard on the first album but really loved how their sound matured on the second album. I am still getting used to the new album but primarily because I know that those vocal harmonies that they achieved on the second album will be no more. But love their evolution and very happy for Cleo.

If you like the Elliott Smith-y sounding songs, check out Harmony Trividad's solo music. Once you do, you can really tell who wrote each song on this album. They're both fantastic songwriters

Never heard of this band. sounds very good. i have discovered alot of awesome bands through your channel. great stuff. Too bad his vocals sounds live not the same as on album. i like his live vocals here better then on cd to be honest
What he heck! This isn’t the girl pool I know. What happened to that unique alternative sound? Now they sound like everyone else. Kinda bummed I bought tickets for the Durham show.
I like the band. I love telecasters. I have one myself. But I think the reverb is a little too much on that one. It just sounded a bit off to me. Maybe it was an issue with how his pedals were layered or maybe it just was way too much reverb. Overall the band is decent though.
A lot of left-handed players (myself included) know how to play right-handed guitars/bass upside down since many learned that way at first. Left-handed instruments are harder to find so it's natural to use a family member/friend's right-handed guitar at first and learn upside down.
Poor keyboard player looks like she signed up for the wrong band. At times they are a bit like The Band. 13:00 - wonderful pretentiousness! She is right, though imho. Well, except for everyone having a creative mind. My neighbor is not creative at all. ;-)
Harmony is still beautiful but it looks like she may be struggling with drugs. I work with people struggling with addiction and can see it her face. I hope I’m wrong though.
Why do people get so upset if someone doesn't like a certain band or has even the slightest criticism? I commented on the telecaster sounding a bit off, then continued to say the band was good overall. But still some person had to get butthurt and leave some snarky ass response. You can like something and have other people disagree with you without getting totally offended. Kexp plays a huge variety of musical genres. Not everything will be for everyone.
