  • In this video I give a full in depth tour of a 2005 Cadillac STS V8. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

    Cadillac recently discontinued this model so they could combine some of it's features with the DTS....... would that make it an STD?

    @Xziau1 Northstars are not bad. Just need to be taken care of like any other car. All 01+ Northstar engines are pretty solid. They are not as hard to work on as other people make them out to be. Nobody should own a car without some general knowledge of the engine they have. Mine has over 150k Miles on it and still running strong.

      This are also the improved Northstar's from 2005.

    Featuring the Northstar multi valve engine promising the power to rule the universe. Cadillac was really pushing hard to be chosen over its Asian and European competition. If anything this generation gave up-and-comers like Lexus and Infinity a battle to stay relevant. Cadillacs style was really taking on a distinctive shape in the new millennium. No other automaker would be fitting to imitate the STS. During this era Cadillac’s price tag became larger and was the biggest separator between them and their only domestic luxury competitor; Lincoln.

  • @Shintsu2
    @Shintsu2 8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Always thought this generation of STS looked kind of spartan considering their price tag. Similar year Lexus models look lavish by comparison. Even the older STS had what looked like a more appointed interior than these. It's even more pronounced with the STS-V, huge price tag and all the extra money went solely into the drivetrain and didn't add anything to make the interior more upscale.

      i Agree somewhat....the Design is Clean and Relatively uncluttered but at the same time it looks uninspired.....the Prior Seville SLS/STS the interior design of that generation was CLEARLY influenced by imports.....just look at the overall design of that interior, but with specific focus on the Electroluminescent Gauge Cluster, and Switch gear....especially the Radio/Climate Control...

  • @Trades46
    @Trades46 8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    The sad thing is I still think today in 2015 the STS is a better car than the current XTS that replaced it. However since the recent CTS grew in size (now the 2016 version measures similar to the STS) I guess that's acceptable. Perhaps Cadillac still wants a car to appeal to the 'old buyers' who like the comfort & large size offered by a big FWD car.

    • @superhollowfied906
      @superhollowfied906 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The XTS is front wheel drive and I'm pretty sure replaced the DTS or at least a placeholder replacement for it. The STS was replaced by the current gen CTS because it grew in size to make room for the compact ATS.

    • @Trades46
      @Trades46 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      *****
      Perhaps today that is true but in 2005 the CTS and STS lived side-by-side but the STS sat above it in length & width.

    • @hakeemsd70m

      Trades46 Hell today at the tail end of 2016 I still like the STS and the DTS (yes. the sharply styled DeVille-derived 06-11 DTS) much better than the XTS and even the CT6. It was just something about those Caddy's that just spelled out old school American luxury that I love, and that ain't a bad thing. But that's something that is all but dead now.

    seriously considering selling my 2008 toyota tacoma trd with 85000km's and buying a 2007 one of these with only 49000km's. good or bad decision? It's going to be through a dealership so there will be warranty on it (I would assume) and asking is about $17000. I could get a relatively easy $20000 out of my toyota even though it's not worth that as toyota tacomas are in relatively high demand where I live. any feedback would be much appreciated.

My 1993 Cadillac had a 4.9 in it and could have easily smoked that thing in a 0-60, and it only had 200 horse.
