Thank you for releasing these Chris. I'm learning fusion360 for this project. It would be super cool if we could get a cad file of the molds too so that we could play with those dimensions too, width, wheelbase etc. Really moreso for the wheelbase
Please do a demo of altering the existing shaper. I just made new shapers that are flat on both the top and bottom. 10mm extruded and the hardware holes indexed the same as your wheelbase. I really just need to learn how to put the concave of the example shaper onto my shaper
@@GoodRoads awesome! I've learned to use fusion360 in a rudimentary light. I've learned alot though and look forward to the next video! Stay safe out there brother
Had to come to let you know you inspired my son and I to begin FBCanada! :) We spent the majority of 2022 messing with 3D printed molds, making different 3D printed products and just keeping our ear to the ground in the industry. This turned into us buying a resin printer to make wheels?! 🤯 I never thought my child would be reigniting a fingerboard craze in my life but WOW has it been a super positive adventure! Reach out via Insta or Facebook we would love to send you some wheels we are making these days 🙌 Have a great day and thank you for all you do!
loving the new changes, i have one of your old molds an definitely want to get one of these new ones! any way we could get a slightly lower concave option in the future, or if we would possibly custom order one that one would rad !👍
I would love to see a boxyer/coffin style shaper If you like those too! Also I absolutely love your videos and your old molds are fantastic. and one more thing I think a how to guide on how you make your decks would be really cool as well.
16ga imperial or approx. 1.6mm metric. I had to update the files to fix a fit issue, I just emailed out the changes to everyone who had already purchased. Thanks for asking, your comment is what led me to diagnosing the problem!
@@GoodRoads right on. I ended up buying 16 17 and 18g nails because I wasn't sure. But thank you again for letting these files out! Also looking forward to you doing a video on modifying the shaper if possible
how to make the nose and tail of the shaper more spiky like the blackriver decks and to make the nose side of the board little wider than the tail side
What size bolt is used? It appeared that a hex bolt goes into the bottom of the mold. I've purchased the molds and the bottom mold shaft extends to the bottom and doesn't allow for a hex bolt to be inserted. Is this suppose to be like this?
In the files there's a ring of plastic in the recess for the bolt head, that ring is just support material to help make sure the part prints cleanly, it should break away easily. The bolts are 5/16" imperial which looks like they should be about equivalent with an 8mm bolt in metric
@Good Roads I'll snatch it up on day 1! I've used all your Fingerboard molds including your most recent versions. I appreciate the time you put in. Thank you.
Hey Chris, do you think the vacuum bag pressing method you used for your mountain board would work for fingerboards as well? Perhaps using a smaller bag? It would be an interesting experiment. Thanks and keep killin’ it 🍻
Filament supply issues and a bout with COVID has got me a bit behind the ball on orders at the moment, shoot me an email at chris@goodroadscollective.com with your order number and I'll get you updated on the progress. Thanks for your patience!
Since you're going the extra mile to provide the shaper file with purchase why not have a depository on your website where folks can upload any designs they want to share with other users of your molds. I purchased the files for all 3 of the previous molds you offered and have pressed hundreds of decks with them. While I have 3D resin and filament printers I have no time to learn fusion to make my own shapers so a spot where others might be kind enough to share their designs might be something to look into - I know I'd appreciate it!
I kinda like that idea. I just started a fingerboard company and I like his products. Im hoping to get him to send me a file or print out 10-15 molds with the specs I have in mind. I’ve already got 3 sponsors and I haven’t even put my boards up for sale yet lol I have so many people ready to buy but I want them to be perfect. ALSO… I can’t seem to find anywhere to buy 50-100 32mm-34mm trucks and a lot of bearing wheels. Aside from China on eBay. Any suggestions there? I want to offer more than decks and ramps.
Hey! I ordered a couple from your Etsy store a little over a week ago and haven’t had any updates on arrival? I also would like to talk to you about a custom design. I just created my own company and I’m looking to get a large amount of custom designed molds. Comment back if you’re interested or have info on the shipment. I can email you for further details on maybe working out a bundle of custom molds. Thanks! - Tommy III
just ordered the street deck mold with radial concave and I’m excited to use it! Nice design on these molds and the end results look great!
So how did the mold do?? Cop worthy??
What’s size bolts?

Dude these are so dope!! They look amazing! Great job!
Please do a demo video for the shapers like you were saying

Working on a tutorial for that now

That's sick! I'm glad I've been able to inspire you guys on your journey!
What size bolts does this take
What size bolts? Mainly the diameter for press.

Awesome! Just ordered the old school 👌
can you make a video in making a mold for fingerboard wheels?
thanks,
These are super cool man! I have a friend that makes decks and wheels and he’s going to buy the file, I can’t wait to see what he gets!

A coffin deck would be dope, I'll 100% do that
Whats the suze of bolts you use for the clamp?
All your molds look dope bro🙌🏼 I love the dedication you have to getting em just right💪🏼 super tight bro⚡️
How do we get the bolts if we buy the 3D file?
What’s the size of the hardware for the mold. I can’t find it anywhere on the website
These look amazing! Nice update! Are you still planning om making a fingerboard wheel mold?
Yes, two things are holding me back at the moment: I've got to get my resin printer back up and running, and it's much, much harder than I thought
@@GoodRoads I can't wait. I absolutely love your molds. I've pressed hundred and hundreds of decks through them. Thank you so much.
Do you a rotary table or a bench sander for shaping the fingerboard decks
I've got a little Grizzly bench combo belt/disc sander that I use. I want to get a router setup going in the future though
What size bolts/ nuts did you use?
It would be great if you could make some mold for fingerboard bushing! I would be very grateful for that
Also, what size brad nails or pins fit the shapers?
16ga imperial or approx. 1.6mm metric. I had to update the files to fix a fit issue, I just emailed out the changes to everyone who had already purchased. Thanks for asking, your comment is what led me to diagnosing the problem!

Break out the circle support

Any plans on making a fingerboard wheel mold?
At some point for sure

These press are Made of abs or petg?
Hey Chris, do you think the vacuum bag pressing method you used for your mountain board would work for fingerboards as well? Perhaps using a smaller bag? It would be an interesting experiment. Thanks and keep killin’ it 🍻
Probably! The veneers for fingerboards are thinner so they would bend easier and with less vacuum
What's the shipping turnaround? I ordered them Dec 27th 2023? Not a shipping label created yet....

Hey what material do you use for the press files?
I just use standard PLA, haven't had any problems with it
Do you ship to Australia
Yessir!
That’s awesome
Can't wait for more fb video's

Do a regular street style deck 🙏🏼👌🏼
link stl please
Verry nice
Practically every old-school reissue deck has concave.
The only one that I've seen that doesn't is the new reissue Hosoi hammerhead deck.
Totally, the retro mold has concave it's just a little mellower than the other molds
