Say what you want about Bob Stoops, but think about this.
-He won Oklahoma its 7th national championship in his second year as head coach and only two years since their last losing season.
-The man has won 184 games and lost 48. That's a winning percentage of 80%, quite good.
-He has won 8 bowl games and has been to and won in each BCS bowl game, the only head coach to do so.
-He has won 9 Big 12 championships, of the other schools in the league the most anyone has won is 3, very impressive.
-He is the only Big 12 coach to win conference championships back-to-back.
-He has the highest number of conference game wins at 98, also the most of any coach in the league.
-His 2008 team scored the most points in a season in NCAA history with 716 points.
-His teams average 10 wins a season.
-He has lead Oklahoma to the national championship game 4 times.
Basically, Oklahoma would be a fool to let this man go. He wins games!
The Night Watcher Think about this.....Bob Stoops only won two more games in his first year at Oklahoma than the previous season of 1998. If Oklahoma would have kept John Blake he would have won a NC in 2000. Don't forget Oklahoma at one point had 18 Freshman and sophmores starting for the 1998 team and if not for a few costly turnovers could have just as well finished the regular season 7-5. the same 7-5 record Bob Stoops had in his first year... My point being it was the players that won the NC in 2000 it didn't matter who the coach was. Go look at players starting for the 2000 season Mostly Juniors and seniors the same players that went 5-7 in 1998....John Blake even said in a interview during the 1998 season that he See's Oklahoma competing for a NC in the next couple of years because of the talent of the players. Guess what?! he was right !!!!! Stoops gets too much credit for that Championship when it was obviously the great players on that team that won it....It's not about most wins, it's not about big 12 championships At Oklahoma it's about National Championships

Ironically Oklahoma and Ohio St. are the only teams to played in all five BCS games... Stoops is the only coach in the BCS era, to win all BCS bowl games!

Bob Stoops is a great coach.. As a Kansas fan he reminds me a lot of Bill Self. 1 national title another runner up and tons of conference titles.. But always losing big games to teams he shouldn't
this isn't an argument. everyone knows what skip is saying is totally true. i like bob stoops but oklahoma always loses games they should win easy. not to mention the elephant in the room when it evolves quarterbacks for the sooners

Something changed at OU after the getting beaten down by USC in the NC game in 2005 55-19. Stoops lost his swagger and never regained it. Since then it like when expectation are high for OU they choke, but when expectations are low they come through, like in the Sugar Bowl against Bama a few years ago.
hard to argue if you look at OU post-2005. that orange bowl was an absolute embarrassment.

As a Ohio state fan and graduate, I knew we'd win, but skip picking Oklahoma cinched it for me. He should be fired, not stoopes. How many times can you be wrong as an analyst and keep your job ? Tony romo, and Lebron James to give 2 examples

Tom Herman, Houston's coach, is going to be the next elite coach. He was OSU's coach in 14 during the title run.He has lost 2 games in the last three seasons ,I think at least, and his offenses are always nasty.

Tom Herman is not going to leave to coach a team he can already beat. Leave the man alone. More money sounds great for three years and then if you don't produce, you're fired. He's at a program that listens to him and will do what he says in Houston. This guy who keeps mentioning him is all about money and nothing else. We'll see, but if you keep up with the progression of the H-Town takeover, anyone would be a fool to leave the creation of a new legacy.

Well Urban just proved again that he is. Stoops needs to go. Oklahoma needs a new voice of leadership there. Stoops hasn't won a National title in like 16 years. Stoops teams now are known for choking in the big games. Oklahoma should change their name to Overrated Sooners
