I like ginger or ginger with lemon tea. I have been on a modified low fodmap diet. I have not eliminated gluten entirely, just reducing it. I also found out that I have been drinking too much water and not having enough bulk. On a different angle, I am working with a pelvic health therapist. She told me that my pelvic floor muscles are weak. This can be from straining, childbirth, age, etc. I am just begging to do the exercises, along with the specific foods to be eaten everyday. If anyone has struggled with constipation, but knows they are getting water , veggies, etc and have digestive issues including gas or bloating, addressing pelvic health may help. I hope this will help me as well.
Thank you for sharing about how your bloating hasn’t magically disappeared!! Was feeling so frustrated, good to hear that things get better even if not “cured”.
Hi sweetpea!! I have been constipated my whole life!! Thanks for all these tips to avoid bloating. Peppermint tea is def one I will incorporate. As a give back, I learned a few months ago something that reeeeally worked for me and that is: a bowl of soaked rolled oats EVERY DAY. 1/2 cup. It took me about a week to kick in but oh my oh my, does it work!! To make my life easier I throw 1 frozen banana and 1/2 cup of rolled oats overnights and next morning microwave it for 1 1/2 min. The frozen banana is already "liquid" at this point and makes it easier to stir. Also, it helps sweetens the whole thing. I hope you try it! I could not believe what it did for me. 😘
People say cranberry juice is good for the bladder and UTI's etc, but I have found that when I have burning in my stomach, for example from peanut butter. I drink it. It takes away the burning. I always keep it on hand. It has gotten me through some IBS situations.
Just found your channel and going through all the clips. This is literally my life story too. One thing that I can add is putting something warm on belly or sit in front of room heater. Just the heat, helps me pass.
hi, becky! i promise to force myself to drink peppermint tea daily - the bloat and the gas are almost always present. in part, i know the gastropariesis contributes. i am so willing to give it a try. my son is getting married next year and i really would love to be able to enjoy the trip and the wedding. hope you have a wonderful week - BLOAT FREE! (me too). hugs! ~k
Love that blouse! On the IBS subject I just finished a course of Lormyx which is an antibiotic specifically for IBS and now taking vivomixx. Normal bowel function for the first time in years and years! Of course I've also stopped sugar and wheat and I feel so much better. And not eating too much is super important. Thanks so much for videos!
Hello Linda, I would like to know if you still have normal bowel after having stopped the meds...I would appreciate it greatly as I have been suffering from this for a long time...
Yara E. Hi Yara. After Lormyx I had 8 months of ‘normal’. Then the attacks started up again. Tried a 2nd course of Lormyx and was good for 2-1/2 months. The 3rd course of it didn’t really help. Since then I’m still having ibs attacks. Unfortunately I don’t have a solution...yet. How are you doing? Have you anything helpful?
@@lindaklein1300 Hello Linda, thank you for your reply, I actually don't and was hoping you would tell me that u found the solution :) i have been researching this online and came across a medicine called "IBgard" unfortunately its not available where I am and can't order ot off amazon yet. Have u heard about it? If not, have a look and let me know what u think...
Hi Becky, I get acid reflux and gastritis too so peppermint is a no go. I find liquorice tea really helps by twinnings. Also for fibre, coconut milk. Massage of the belly and yoga specific for IBS helps with my debloat too ....
Interesting. I also have gastritis but I find peppermint helps me. I guess we are all different. I mean there are so many other things I can't have, at least I caught a break on one thing :-)
Lady B it's Christmas 🎄 2022. Pleeeeeease post new videos to deal with this Bloating. After 8 weeks of the eliminating phase, I'm still bloating and fedup. Any updated Anti Bloating recipes?? I'm totally locked into Peppermint tea 🍵 Thank you. 😊 Season Greetings 🎄 and a very Happy 2023.
Hey again Becky! Awesome vid :) update on my reintroduction phase. Started with polyol's and it seems to be going okay so far. Gut is feeling good! Had some blackberries and mushrooms which I almost forgot the taste of! Fingers crossed stomach will stay stable as introduce some more foods xx
I lost my business and then Covid and now i have ibs, guess it’s stress but absolutely gutted, does ibs just go away or is it for life now, ? The bloating is so annoying
I went to an elderly friend’s for dinner on Friday night. Being such a people pleaser, I ate what I was given. Gluten, dairy, onion and red meat sausages. My IBS is awful this week. When will I learn to say no.😩
The bloating is my main symptom. was diagnosed with lymphocytic colitis and lactose intolerance a month ago. Have been on Budesonide and Dicyclomine since. Also the low format diet which I hate. Even when I'm hungry I feel like there is a basketball in my stomach. Feeling depressed because food and cooking was such a big part of my life but now it's a dreadful, frustrating chore.
Don't forget dairy, which includes butter. I wish I could just go to soy milk. I like it the most, but my throat swells and I am clearly allergic, so I have to continue with dairy milk, but no lactose. I'm trying to get away from any animal foods. The other plant based milks just don't fill me up and are too thin. I'll take some suggestions.
Just found your vids as I'm trying to get back on fodmap. I know my triggers are garlic and onion and some other veggies depending on portion size. Some great advice so far and although feel like I already know these it's a great refresher. Can I ask, which peppermint tea do you like best? x
I absolutely love the Pukka peppermint tea! Onion and garlic are such a pain aren't they? They seem to be in EVERYTHING! Hope the low FODMAP diet is helping you feel better x
@@BeckyExcell Brill, thank you. I'll give them a go. I quite like the sainsburys ones but I know there must be some better ones out there. Garlic and onion are in absolutely everything! I'm using the Monash apps as guidance at the moment but I think your blog is going to be a fantastic help and inspiration for what to cook! I would love to see a guide on how you eat out/travel without getting an upset stomach x
I can't take peppermint. The tea makes me feel sick and the tablets make my heart race and IBS symptoms worse. I find yoga moves and abdominal massage helps with bloating and trapped gas as well as relieving stress which can sometimes cause bloating
Becky, help me name the culprit in this tuna wrap... springwater tinned tuna, light mayo (1 tsp), a few tiny roma tomatoes diced, gluten free corn-based wrap.
I want to note something. I watch a lot of vegan recipes online and the one think I see in most food videos is that people are using tap water. I would never use tap water, too many things in it that are bad for the stomach. I use filtered to cook and I buy special water, not spring water. There's no such thing. I get my hands on glacier or mountain water. I recheck what these companies are saying. Essentia water is high on the list and affordable.
Thank you for this! I've been in so much pain lately and I've been following the low fodmap for a few months now. I swear by psyllium supplements to help boost my fibre and yoga every day.
Prebiotics can also make ibs worse just as a FYI. Because they also can feed bad bacteria. Thought probiotics Do not! And have made a huge impact in my symptoms!
Which probiotics are you using and in which dose? PHGG seems to be a really good prebiotic to increase the good bacteria and does not produce and side effects.
Have you tried BEANO? It's an over the counter digestive enzyme that you take right before you eat. It's helps to digest high FODMAT foods like legumes, and certain fruits and vegetables. It works very well for me.
I've done some research and found that magnesium (not mag-oxide though) is key to helping constipation. 400+ grams per day. From food or supplements. Spinach almonds cashews oatmeal Quinoa etc.

So helpful!!! Coming from another queen of constipation lol and I bloat some days like I’m a few months away from having a baby 😩😂😂
Oe that realy sucks:o i also noticed that in the morning my belly is mostly flat but in rhe evening it realy sticks out
What foods do that for you? I can have Lay's original chips, but not the whole bag or I start fodmap stacking with all other foods.

Peppermint helps with ibs! There is a medicine called 'IB Guard' that is ultra purified Peppermint and really helps me! Just wanted to share!

This is very good to know, I have a lot of trouble with this when eating, although it has improved over time after eating more fruit and vegetables.

I know certain people may not like to talk about it, from embarrassment, but it is worth noting that during menstruation certain foods are worse.
A lot of really good tips here. Hope to follow them.

I've tried probiotics and I've read about prebiotics but I've never tried those ones, so I might look into them to see if it helps at all.
Added some sauerkraut this week and enjoyed some normal BMs for a change.
I just tried it for the first time in my life & although I am not a fan I have to learn to like it.
Can you link the prebiotic that you take
Hi
Which is better for pepleo with ibs: unripe or ripe bananas?
hi, which pro-biotic tablets do you take, please?
I have Ibs with bloating... however I also have a lower abdominal hernia pushing up against my bloating tummy.....heat pads help and yes decaf teas...
I can't take peppermint. The tea makes me feel sick and the tablets make my heart race and IBS symptoms worse. I find yoga moves and abdominal massage helps with bloating and trapped gas as well as relieving stress which can sometimes cause bloating

tomatoes and mayo might be the culprits. i am the same.... tomatoes are low foodmap but some people cant tolerate them... same with mayo
Camomile tea can be binding

It seems that fiber and probiotics makes things worse. I'm going to try giving up raw veg.s, but eating cooked prebiotic veg.s
It's funny i don't realy have constipation but just get the opossit XD and that burns alotXD do you have any tips for that kind of ibs?

You know, even diabetes can be a factor. There are foods that are limited on that and then also if you have IBS. It's really nuts!
I've done some research and found that magnesium (not mag-oxide though) is key to helping constipation. 400+ grams per day. From food or supplements. Spinach almonds cashews oatmeal Quinoa etc.
Peppermint tea CONSTIPATES. Be careful, my dietitian advised me not to have it since I have started to be cronically constipated.
Why she froth at mouth
Meds are not the answer. Check out homeopathy . Mine is on line
