The situation is kinda like when you operate when you’re drunk. Anything can happen, as distracted while operating can lead to serious consequences, even death in some cases. That can partially be the reason that many surgeons, (including me in the future) do not have any distractions whilst operating, not even music. I’m so glad that the action was taken, and I hope so that the patients affected win their cases. And that is the reason why Doctors NEED to be serious at all times whilst working, cuz a bit of fun can cause permanent damage and repercussions.

The live streams is one thing, you could still focus on the surgery if you wanted but interacting with the phone or tablet or whatever you're streaming from during the surgery is dangerous, first because surgery is time sensitive but also because the streaming device has germs on it

For all we know, she framed it as an educational tool and most of the people probably had no idea who she was on tiktok. It's not really unheard of for people to trust that their doctor knows what she's doing.

The practice for teaching purposes is the surgery is recorded and later the surgeon records a voice over explaining the procedure. This prevents distractions during the procedure.
