I ran easy fix but I already had the sp1 installed so I ran the media creation tool. I've had it on my desktop for so long that when I ran it I had to download an updated version of it. Once I did that windows took over and is now downloading windows 10 on my laptop. Thanks for getting me at least this far. Hopefully the update will take and I can get rid of all the pesky warning messages on web browsers and security programs. Well done.

I already had the update patch KB3140245 installed years ago, but just the TLS 1.2 protocol was disabled by default. So the easyfix tool was all that I needed, so no need to reboot after using this tool. The W10 media creation tool is what I needed to create a USB bootable drive for another PC, and it worked fine after using the easyfix tool. Many thanks and all the best to you😄👍

The error was fixed: installed win10 into win7 Asus laptop. You are a good teacher - my win7 hard drive broke and had to replace a new one that is when I realizes that my win7 system image was made in the year 2011. Yes, get the windows update operating is first priority. Thanks.
