Drove 3 hours to Ithaca, NY once for a show that I found out was canceled when I got there. Lucky for me, Connor was playing there that night too, and a front row seat at the theatre was somehow available. Someone named Phoebe Bridgers opened.

Wow. Great interview and performance. I have to admit, I didn't really understand why people were raving about "Punisher" until seeing Bridgers perform it here. (I loved "Ghost in the Alps" instantly.) Completely different seeing her with the band. Bridgers may be one of the few artists who is even better live as well as one of the few who actually enjoys playing with a group. While I miss live performance, and human company in general, I don't miss having to deal with fans screaming the lyrics back at the artist at the top of their lungs or tall guys standing in front of me or drunk people falling on me. And of course, Cheryl Waters makes all things better.
