The irony in him saying "I don't like this portfolio because there is too much going on" and then going to the next one (with similar entropy) and saying "This guy took my course, I really like this one." He is a great sales man lol
I love that most of the people like you that look at the work just look for consistency first than the extras. It seems that there is a portfolio bias where people get too creative and that can hurt their potential to hire while their projects may be solid
It’s great to have this exciting portfolio review! I can learn from different perspectives and gain more insights into your feedback and design point of view. I’m really looking forward to becoming a Flux Academy Webflow student next year!
Love to see your response, totally agree with your feedback, and you bring it in such a nice, respectfull way! Great video, well done and thnks for sharing!
Hey "SAYA°TB" your mockups are amazing Only thing I would literally do, is choose one image (like the pink/blue surfboard for that one) for each one and cover the mockup... So that only on hover the mockups show It would look more clean, while keeping the mockups
I would love to see some accessibility expert portfolios! The EAA (European Accessibility Act) 2025 is comming and as of 28 June 2025, companies must ensure that the newly marketed products and services covered by the Act are accessible. So I really would like to see more accessibility friendly portfolios or experts for it! :)
Nice vid, it maked me wonder: 19:02 here, I don't doubt about the freelancer skills, but he told: "I will x5 your customers", if the brand already have a fine website, he might not x5 the customers, so what happen? Does he tell before that he will only probably x2 for example on a project? Or brand knows that this kind of sentence is a "fake" promise that aren't always true? Thanks in advance
First thing all of these designers need to learn is some basic marketing. Copy is terrible on every single one of these websites. It's no wonder why there is a lot of starving artists.
For me this is a very interesting topic. I work in an advertising agency and our art director made a beautiful presentation slides with our brand colors - red and orange. And we designers are supposed to fill some slides and to put works on them and send it to clients. But when we out anything on the beautiful slides - it looks really ugly, because nothing matches with the design theme or the colors. So, the portfolio is like a good make up - it makes you beautiful, but it is not the main character. A portfolio must be a plate for every meal to look good in it:) So I guess this is the reason everyone looks a bit the same
I like these series of portfolio reviews, learnt a lot, but sometimes I think you have a different characters for reviewing, you liking/approving something and then in the next one you rejecting that is too similar with previous one.
Hey flux , really nice video ! I was wondering if I could help you with more Quality Editing in your videos and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail and also help you with the overall youtube strategy and growth ! Pls let me know what do you think ?

they all follow the same pattern , looks like they all learned from the same youtube course 😅
theyre all from Ran Segalls shitty webflow course which makes them all look like basic ass templates. garbage.
It’s the Framer style 😂

Here's an idea, how about one more portfolio review video but from a business owner POV.
Why did u hide the url of those website ?
You want to watch your video is OK but atleast let us those website url.
Should I have a degree to be a web designer and if I join flux academy course would I claim a degree
We don't offer university degrees, we focus on practical knowledge for real-world designers.
You don't need a degree to be a web designer.
@@FluxAcademythx for responding
How to submit my portfolio for review?
Follow Ran on twitter where he asks people to comment with links sometimes
Sir, why dont have a design battle?
We just did one! Check livestreams to watch the replay.
Hi Ran! Is that your new office?
Yep. One of!
Sad my site didnt make it in the list, cool vid tho
Definitely more tanned
@2:38 lol did he say looks tacky?
Techy* I believe
design is very subjective. even if you are the top designer, someone will come and will show you mistakes even if he is a designer or not. 🤡😅
I didn't sent you 136 websites :) just one
J.K. I didn't send mine
How do we send our websites? Cheers! :)
Ran usually does a shoutout on X to ask for submissions.
Saas anything on a folio is a HELL NO. It’s so cliche and framer vomit templates dumped into a site
TLDR < these all look like crappy templates and dont exude a feeling of creativity. they all look lazy to me.
all are stupid
