Malaysia is an Islamic country and was for a long time, what do you expect, its not the same with Muslims in Europe, they won't care if you don't have a headscarf
Soham Banerjee that doesn’t happen in countries where they have Muslims or Buddhist (assuming that’s what you mean by buslim because that’s what I found online?) population, Muslim Americans don’t do that, hell even Muslim Lebanese don’t do that.
Tsinoy is mainly and also 100% ethnically Chinese but born and raised in The Philippines. Also, Chinese-Filipinos are less diverse compared to their counterparts in Malaysia.
@@philiprevis6784 Yes. Especially if that person claims Chinese ancestry. But again, there are many Filipinos of Chinese descent who don't want be labeled that identity themselves as Filipino. And they are only Chinese in looks and to some extent, name. Example, my wife.

@Koushik H Bro I never said majority can speak Hindi.. I said they can understand at least few words.. So it helps foreigner to communicate even with few words..
@Kleco102 you must look back my comment.. I don't know about your Sri Lankan culture.. Even you Tamil Sri Lankan love your country than Tamil.. But we Tamilians are proud of being Tamil.. Nationality flows in same way.. So we are the country of rich family culture and tradition... It's not that easy to remove our DNA.. Take Malaysia or Singapore or any other Tamil settlers, they are proud of being Tamil and keeping the culture in good way.. Every people still knows what's happening in India and loves Tamil movies and songs.. If you ever visited India, you might have known it.. It's an whole different world.. Everything is there in this country... No country can sustain in this generation with such a diverse population, ethnicity, language, landscape, culture, religion, tradition and many more... So who ever you be, some force keeps us United.... You need lot's of History about India... Unless you experience it's beautiful culture, you will never understand it..
@Kleco102 Kleco102 for you, ethnicity is not a strong enough point to make here, and nationality becomes a technical problem, but let's talk about "dharma", these people in the video can clearly be seen following some dharm so this dharm thing existed before this republic of India, and it exist till date... Also these people, they followed this dharm before leaving this country, and are still following them wherever they are, whether they be in Malaysia or whatever place on earth, even when they leave for Mars one day, so I don't know what nation or culture or ethnicity or dharma you belong, but we the people, doesn't matter whether of " Republic of India" Or India, or Bharat, or Hindustan, or whatever piece of land we live on, we're going to share this dharma and culture thing entire our life n generation. My point here is, what Rahul is trying to say is that, if these people are currently living in some other country with a different nationality than ours, they still share a lot of our culture and other things, which you shouldn't ignore just to make a point that "they are not your people", we already know that. But if dharma is taken into account, we can still say " They are our people ", at least partially :p
Isn't this hugely interesting - that Chindians are often thought to look like ethnic Malays? Actually, the populations of large parts of Malaysia and Indonesia emerged many centuries ago from intermixing of peoples who were closely related to mainland Indian or mainland Chinese stock! Now, we are seeing that same mixing of genes in the Chindian community. In terms of genetics, we might even describe the Chindian as historically the second wave of ethnic Malays! 😎
But I rarely seen Indian here in Indonesia, much less than I seen Chinese that almost everywhere, but still not much compared to local ethnic like Javanese, Sundanese, etc
@@razfaren Actually, Indian connection took place 1000 - 1500 yrs ago, when there was trade between India and SE Asia. Ramayana came from India. Steamed rice cakes went from Indonesia to India. Large population mixtures probably took place at that time. Later India came under Muslim rule for 1000 yrs, and at that time this connection became weak. For the last 1000yrd, Chinese and Muslim Arabic influence became most prominent in Indonesia and Malaysia.
@Indibox Actually there are two different major ethnicities in India which is Indo Aryan and the Dravidians. Indo Aryans contribute to 80% percentage of the India's population whereas the Dravidians make up to 15% of India's population. Dravidians are those who came from the SE Asia like Malaysia and Indonesia and the reproduced with the Indo Aryans. Indo Aryans come from central Asia as well as from Mesopotamia (Iran, Iraq and the middle east). Dravidians are present in south Indian states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Indo Aryans reside in the northern parts of India. Fun Fact: Pakistanis and Bangladeshis are also Indo Aryans.
For those wondering, Malaysia has different laws depending on which ethnic group you're in, hence the police asking for ID cards during Ramadan. Thanks Drew for another great video!
@Kleco102 dude I know that fact and I've been to Malaysia. The thing is if foreigners find Indians in Fiji, Suriname, Mauritius and Guyana, they tell that Indians are bilingual knowing both Hindi and Tamil but in Malaysia alone Indians speaks Tamil. I'm proud of that fact. That is what I wanted to express
@Kleco102 obviously the word kuil comes from kovil. A lot of words in Malay come from other languages such as Tamil. Don't forget Malaysia was once a Hindu-Buddhist empire.
@Kleco102 why are you so butt hurt lol? English borrows a lot of words from other languages too. Nobody gets butt hurt when the origins of an English word is pointed out. In fact, I find it very interesting to learn the origins of English words, and also Malay words. I just thought it would be an interesting piece of trivia to share that Malay borrows a lot of words from Tamil.
My dad is Chinese and my mom is East Indian. People in the US frequently think I'm Hispanic, Filipino or Hawaiian. When I tell people in the I'm Chindian they are like "what!?". 😀

how extremism? i don't know what dictates do states formed/ rules under x , y or z religions have. but i guess if they do or if there is no religion or weirdism (North Korea, Idi Amin) then those diktats would get enforced on residents or at-least citizens, right? not been to Vatican nor i think it's really anything but some corrupt money launderers and pests living off the wealth and blood of others but in most religious regions and even in history: the culture, morals were tried to be preserved.. as per their intellect or perception. of-course, being dumb stupid and retarded by itself (usually) isn't extremism. (but can easily manifest into it).
@@spock7945 i have not read ur long answer. But here is my point of view: one should have the freedom to choose if the person wants to wear burakha /hijab, wants to fast during ramadan or not. But in islam u don't have choice. U r forced to do that. How idiotic it is to carry a identity card (to prove that u r not muslim) so that they won't punish u. As a hindu i have freedom, I have freedom to chose weather i want to wear saree or jeans, i want to cover my head or not,i want to fast on mahashivaratri or any other big occasion or not, I want to go to temple or not. My religion has no restrictions and extremism unlike islam. In modern world, no one has right to tell someone just bcoz he or she is muslim what to do or what not to do. It's not new , and Malaysian Indians are not count as Indians, if they are indian why don't the indian government count them as NRI s or POI s ? @Kleco102 well, once a Indian always a Indian 😅 still I have lot's of relatives in Malaysia and I am Tamil😅
They are in between not fully Indian or Chinese ok
Would love to see you visiting East Malaysia (Sarawak and Sabah). There are even more diverse ethnic groups and unique cultures for you to discover

@@razfaren your name is literally Indian.
@@hijibijbij9476 muslim persian influence not arabic

Yeah because Tamil is one of the oldest languages in the world
What a shame. Our kids of mixed marriages do not speak Tamil or Hindi but only English

It's not kuil. It's kovil which means temple in Tamil
I was just wondering what that was, I Googled 'kuil' out of curiosity and couldn't find anything to do with religious buildings
@Kleco102 obviously the word kuil comes from kovil. A lot of words in Malay come from other languages such as Tamil. Don't forget Malaysia was once a Hindu-Buddhist empire.
@Kleco102 that the word kuil probably comes from kovil. The end.

It is scary to hear the extent of enforcement of religious practices on the fasting and headscarf examples.
Yes islamic extremism 😣
how extremism? i don't know what dictates do states formed/ rules under x , y or z religions have.
but i guess if they do or if there is no religion or weirdism (North Korea, Idi Amin) then those diktats would get enforced on residents or at-least citizens, right?
not been to Vatican nor i think it's really anything but some corrupt money launderers and pests living off the wealth and blood of others
but in most religious regions and even in history: the culture, morals were tried to be preserved.. as per their intellect or perception.
of-course, being dumb stupid and retarded by itself (usually) isn't extremism.
This religious policing must be stopped
@Super I thought it only happens in the Middle East Islamic countries
If you think that's scary.. Malaysia has "re-education" camps for apostates who want to leave Islam.. And they condemn China for putting Uyghurs in re-education camps. Isn't it hypocritical?
