I totally am reinvigorated in my interest in this channel! I'm a reptile keeper first... I think it's really next level for allowing our beautiful tropical plants to flourish, too! I had to turn away from the houseplant community for all the reasons you've been wanting to make changes to your channel and I'm really excited I can circle back around here and find someone else who is interested in both plants and reptiles/amphibians! You'll find a lot of so support and great people here Lulu!

Also I think the only reason I saw this was because I'm preparing some newt/milk frog enclosures upon returning from Tinley this weekend and I revisited Dayan's red eyed crocodile skink build... For once they algorithm worked! 😆

Hi. Your enclosure turned out just beautifully! So cool for your couple little guys! And, oh, how precious are they??? Actually as I’m watching and typing I noticed you’re going over the plants and probably getting ready to answer my questions, but just in case, how are you getting your plants to stay where you put them and do you use much substrate there so that you have to water them? I have a few of the ones you used already growing in my house, but getting them to grow in my frogs’ home has been my biggest headache as far as setting up the enclosure. I currently have a monstera deliciosa growing in the enclosure my four are in now but it’s growing from the bottom, root and all because I can’t seem to be able to get plants to grow from the background or other cork bark pieces. Lastly, I’ve just purchased a larger enclosure and since I’m not the best with plants I’d also like to know what you decided on regarding lighting for the plants, too please, if possible. Thank you for putting up with this long rambling message and any thoughts on my questions. .

Based on my own experience, I would definitely recommend using sprayfoam and then painting over with tinted Drylok rather than using silicone to put dirt on the background! Bromeliads would also be good to add! Though froggies will love either way!

That is beautiful Lucia, the light will be fine for your plants, I use 4000k under cupboard lighting in my ikea greenhouse and the plants are doing great. Sometimes we put too much emphasis on growlights but plants are very adaptable. Great job

So cool! Keep an eye on the snake plant as it may not like the moisture and humidity. If you're interested, Ashley Anita just posted a tour of Frog Daddy's facility-- thousands of frogs and plants! I came into houseplants by way of dart frog vivariums so I enjoy this kind of content.

No, it will eventually rot. Bromeliads would be a better option in the future when it does rot.

Oh my gosh, they are so adorable!!! Were they a pair before you got them, or did they just meet? Do they mate in captivity? This is so fascinating - I’ll have to look for more info on them!
I noticed that you were feeding them directly - will you always have to feed them like that? How often do they eat?
I apologize for all of the questions and I understand if you can’t answer all of them. I’m just so fascinated by the whole thing. Thank you so much for sharing! 💜💚🪴

    • @LulusLeaves

Hey! They only met when they came to live with me! I’m sure they would mate! I don’t have to feed them directly but I enjoy it! They eat once a day right now.☺️

Does it matter what plants you include? I’ve been wanting to do a terrarium with calathias, and my daughter has been begging for frogs, could I combine the two? Or are there plants that are dangerous for the frogs?
