Here's my theory on the phantom Ruby: -Chaos emeralds represent the power of brute strength -The Master emerald represents the power of a civilisation and society -The phantom Ruby represents the power of thought. It thinks. It takes in the ideas and memories of Sonic and Eggman and makes something new with them. This would explain the re use of assets in new levels like here the wacky workbench hangar ceiling is repurposed as a studio ceiling. Also how this place is unreasonably huge. It would also explain the cartoon changes to reimagined classics. This thought dimension (the one seen in the opening animation) doesn't need to follow the same rules as the real world. Chemical Plant was originally a stylised take on a real world thing, but now act 2 has oversized syringes that would be of no use to the humans who presumably built it. I also like how it was found. Sharing a home with the Echidna civilisation until it was stolen and unleashed it's creativity. So the animated intro actually takes place in the transition between Angel Island and GHZ.

Well in this remix yes and no. The trumpets in this song are a combination of the Korg trumpets (the BrassOfPower setting, which was heavily used in Mania's OST) and Session Horns Pro.
