to me it is a great thing that they start to copy retro consoles 1:1. Today, when you want to geat a "real" experience of a game system, you have to get used tech from 20 years ago. and they aren't getting any younger. Anbernic basically makes it so you get a new, mint device, with a better screen, better battery and better user experience. And do we really need something better than H700 for a GBA clone?
@Thepietro5000pp As someone who bought the 35xx sp, I certainly can't argue with your points, but do we really need 5 or 6 devices in the same year with the same exact chip set? That's my main point
The SP was the best thing they've made all year, because as a clamshell it fills a niche. Only way I could se anbernic top that is a DS clone with two screens and thumbsticks that punch through the top screen
I don't get it, this just seems like such a non-problem, just don't buy it? Ironically this one will sell better than others because of nostalgia so it clearly has reason for existing.
Never owned a retro handheld before cause I play all my retro games on either my 3ds or steam deck but I'm gonna have to cop this. The gba was the first nintendo console I ever owned.
People are getting the 34XX for Nostalgia and not caring about wanting more performance for systems that requires joysticks. This a far better form factor than the SP. There's already higher end devices with more performance to meet the demands of audience like you, the 34XX is catering to ppl that skipped the SP. I already put in an order for indigo and can't wait to order another with the next set of colors.
They aren't making these for you (or anyone) to buy all of them. They aren't making them to try and push constant innovation. The point is that they are providing various form factors of effectively same product so that regular people can just pick the one they like best and be happy. If you want actual improvements to the specs then you're probably going to need to be more patient than a year. I suspect that they will figure out which of these models are most popular and then will iterate on those.
@JustACuteFox eh, maybe you're right, but since they just keep releasing the same chip set in a different form factor I'm not super hopeful. I've also been following these devices since at least the RP2, maybe before, and there's glaring issues they could fix they don't seem interested in for some reason.
@CasualtiesOfGaming Imagine how people would feel if they released this form factor and it was suddenly an incremental improvement over the others. People would have to decide between getting the stronger device in a form factor they may not like, or a weaker device. This way, they are all on equal footing and people can just pick the form they like.
It’s just over saturation of a market. Anbernic can dress these up in different suits and sell them because people will buy them(as you can tell by the comment section or they’re all bots). No incentive to stop, no real incentive to innovate.
People like me are buying them because its all about nostalgia not performance. This form factor is great for nostalgic immersion I dont need to play anything higher than gba on this device. I will mostly play gba games exclusively on this.
Miyoo shows the flip..Anbernic rushes the sp to market to get the sales. Powkiddy did the A30 years ago and now v10 for 2x gba Anbernic seen that do well so they are doing this gba clone. I like anbernic just fine, but they are predictable and not so good at original ideas. But they do what other companies do..but better. Mostly.
Super foolish take. The fact that they offer the same power and price structure in many different form factors is actually awesome people like different things and also it enhances what games play better on certain devices if you have a favorite. Additionally a firmware as good as MuOS can run on all of them making it a seamless experience. It's the best business move they've made ever
People in the retro handheld community are utterly buck-broken defending this thing. Imagine saying, “It’s okay for them to release a hundred handhelds, because you can just pick the one you want!”, when ALL of their handhelds with analog sticks STILL have cardinal snapping issues, where the ANALOG sticks don’t take ANALOG input, and just act like glorified D-pads. Or how their stock OS is STILL trash, with a stupid useless “Game Rooms” tab with outdated standalone emulators with terrible performance that no one uses, which is also the tab the device starts up on, and not the RA Games tab to the right of it, which is where the actual working emulators are. Why are they keeping Game Rooms there when nobody uses it? Or how they STILL don’t have a good sleep mode like Trimui does.Or how their Saturn handheld, the RG Arc, is too weak to play Saturn games, and instead of making a Plus version with a stronger chip that CAN play Saturn, they divert those resources into making a hundred budget handhelds ALSO too weak to play Saturn. I hate how many shills are out there now, people actively get angry at you if you point out the cardinal snapping issue, because I guess to them, ANALOG sticks not being ANALOG isn’t a problem worth pointing out, when Anbernic hasn’t fixed this issue for MONTHS now, and they’d rather release a dozen other handhelds with broken sticks than wait to make one that ISN’T broken. Reviews all seem worthless now, because the reviewers feel pressured to not point out issues because the consumers don’t want good handhelds that work; they just want a collection of busted handhelds that look good on their shelf while they create a cult of toxic positivity around this once-good company.
it's stock os that has cardinal snapping, use any other OS like Knulli and there isn't any cardinal snapping....it's a perfect round circle with stock sticks when you test it in ppsspp on knulli(with my 35xxh)...

@@CasualtiesOfGaming not really but I also don't see a reason for anything in this form factor to be more powerful
@@CasualtiesOfGaming who cares????

If they re-release this model with a left-side stick and a solid n64-capable chip, I'll buy that, too.

The reason is that its using RK3566 which can play some PS2/gamecube lol.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I'm tempted. GBA is my all time favorite gaming platform 😭
I did say I'll probably buy it

That's what I was thinking the whole video: "You don't need to buy it, you know?"
Yeah right who cares? Seems good for people who want different form factors

@@JustACuteFox Yeah, you definitely don't understand. Companies NEVER do anything with the intent of making LESS profit.

I've read rumors, anbernic bought a truck load of these chips, and just keep finding ways to use them. Maybe and maybe not, but it seems like it.
it's not much, but there is an actual improvement, the screen is 3:2 and an integer x3 of GBA resolution.
@s26me true, but we've gotten 3 by 2 handhelds before. Also, don't get me wrong, I'll probably buy it, but they could at least fix the games room tab
Ill buy it alongsode miyoo flip
