Wow, so get this...
I was wanting to add a high intensity tail light to my MTB for pre-dawn rides on city streets over to where I train (training:cycling:roads (on a MTB?) Go figure).
I've got a super intense head light (love it!) but a less than optimal rear tail light; the latter of which is very important as there are plenty of auto drivers not paying attention in the early morning hours... well, I'm sure you get it. A short glance on what Amazon had to offer immediately led me to want to look into this particular light. So I Googled "Cygolite Hotshot" and entered same into TH-cam's video search box and what did I see appear? A Thompson seat post that looks almost exactly like mine. Okay granted, that's not weird. What is a little odd is that I live and train in the Sacramento area. Judging by your TH-cam name, looks like were in the same area. This all occurred less 90 seconds of my even thinking about looking into purchasing a tail light. Karma? Probably not, but...
Regardless, that light looks like an ideal solution for me and one that will very likely lessen the uneasiness of cycling around cars, particularly in the dark. BTW, I know what you mean about cyclists not liking to ride behind such intense tail lights; happened to me more than once where I train. It was almost blinding. Sure sounds like one way to keep others from riding off your wheel when your on a tempo ride (if that's your deal).

Haha! Yeah I worked downtown for a little while and it worked great for mingling it up on those mean streets! Eastbound all the way down J or all the way down H to Sac State and then the ARBT the rest of the way... I took light rail on the way in... too early for me to ride in... I recently bought a cygolight 600 for my headlight it’s been dope!
