In the teachings of Islam, even during the times of previous prophets like Jesus (Isa, alayhi salam) or Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), worship and prostration were directed solely to Allah (God). While Muslims deeply respect and revere all prophets, seeing them as chosen messengers of God, they do not worship or prostrate to them. Prophets were sent to guide people toward worshiping God alone, emphasizing that they themselves were servants of Allah. Both Jesus and Prophet Muhammad taught their followers that all acts of worship, including prostration, are due only to God. For instance, Jesus is depicted in the New Testament as praying to God and submitting to His will, just as Prophet Muhammad exemplified servitude and submission to Allah. Islam upholds that the essence of each prophet's message is tawhid (the oneness of God), and each prophet directed their followers to worship Allah alone. So, in Islam, even if we had lived in the times of Jesus or Prophet Muhammad, we would still be prostrating to Allah, as this has always been the ultimate purpose of worship in the teachings of the prophets.
