Vikings probably know they'll be getting mid round picks from Atlanta for tampering
Why didn’t they do a gentleman’s agreement with Griffen? Wait until comp pick window closes then reveal the deal? Would not have counted towards formula.
I assume the team has a legit pulse on the formula. A bird also told me that mid-rounds picks have a low hit rate, so effum.
Now there's also the issue of playing time... Remember when Trae Wayne's left for Cincinnati, the projected comp. pick was impacted because he went on IR early in that season, which nullified the "gain" for Cincy
It may be that ESPN sucks and hates all the Minnesota teams. They go more Gaga over Bird bones Rogers and the Jets and the Cowboys than they ever will for the Vikings. ESPN used to be reasonably good but they have deteriorated in my opinion.
I saw the pattern of ESPN hating on all Minnesota sports way back in the late 90's, and concluded that the founder of ESPN was dumped by a girl from Minnesota back in his college days and never got over it. Nothing else explains their behavior.
I have seen a theory that Shaq Griffin didn't count in the formula due to him being cut in November.
Its disappointing that the Vikings won't receive a compensatory pick for Danielle Hunter as well.
It is what it is. Let's roll with what we got.
It doesn't really make tangible sense that signing Shaq Griffin for 4.55M would "cost them" a 3rd round comp pick that Danielle would give them due to 24.5M
Devaluing the pick from a 3rd to a 4th? Sure. But the estimates from the theoretical OTC formula don't make a ton of sense so I'll wait until March 2025.
Definitely getting a 3rd and a fourth. Add that to ATLs 1st or 2nd and we are in business to compete for the next 5 years!!
If we dont get 2 comp. Atleast then either Kwesi made a big mistake not being aware of it.. but also i have a hard time trusting a league formula when they keep the circumstances for dealing out the picks to themselves.. just come on.. be clear on what goes into the formula and what makes them hand out picks..else they can suddenly make a new rule which gives the cowboys another 3-4 compensatory picks and just remove one from Minnesota again and just be "aw unlucky again for Minnesota but... New rule 🤷 nothing we can do about it".. make the formula clear.. until then i wont think that its all fair put together
Cool show Jerome
Win this year.. Veteran knows the game.. not too old now. do the dang thing
When will the NFL deal with the tampering?
Falcon head coach is on the committee!! 🤔🤔🤔
Falcons are gonna have to give up picks eventually for KirkGate
If we win a dozen Jerome-bardi’s in the next 5yrs nobody’s gonna care about alll this comp pick or 2025 draft !?.. js winning cures lots of
I think the Vikings are going to get the falcons 2025 first round next year also
That would be great
I hope so
I would lthat!! Two first round picks again next year!!!Bring it on!!
I don’t like it that the Vikings have no 2nd round pick in 2025. This team needs a 2nd round pick next year.
Presumably if both JJ and turner turn out, we will trade down into the 2nd much like the Texans did this year. No need to use our first rounder next year unless someone big like jjettas leaves.
Is it possible the comp pick could just be kicked down the road to 2026 when some of these one year deals expire?
Starting to see all that Kwesi gave up to get Turner now? Don't forget the 2024 picks he gave up too... Just saying...
I honestly do not believe in Kwesi's trading ability to create additional assets. The Eagles, Packers, Lions etc etc just in this draft alone seemed to be always adding young talent in rounds we gave away over the last few years. From Zadarius, to the Trades with the Lions and Packers in 2022, to letting players walk or cut them without even getting a late rounder. He doesn't seem to cherish the equity these draft picks can create. Analytics show a low probability in later rounds, but HOF'ers have been drafted in all rounds.
Yes we should keep our 5th and 6th round picks because of the 0.000001% chance they become diggs
That’s an awfully small percentage. Are you sure thats the chance? Hah
He isn’t a good GM.
4&5s are worthless but 3rd rounders are fairly premium picks that have consistently been burned by Kwesi
@@kurtwagner350 True, but having those picks in the later rounds still have value, trade up value if nothing else. I completly agree his quickness to throw those away or not secure them is folly.
God Kwesi is the absolute worst GM
How? Explain yourself
@@tederickwebb2384they can't. He started slow but is doing great lately. Hard for the haters to swallow
@@smolove4005 Exactly. He had clean up Rick Speilman and Mike Zimmer's mess to get the Vikings back situated 💪
@@tederickwebb2384 let him cook
We all know it's casue he didn't give kirk 180 mil somebody probably
