Horses At Work

Here are some demonstrations put on by the equine folks during our annual show. Displaying how things where done in the field before and even into the early years of mechanized farming. Pioneer Acres Museum, Irricana, Alberta.

Yes indeed, all the rigging equipment is still made, however some of it is done by custom order.

You better learn how to put on that harness right, or your going to have some lame horses, not to mention getting trained yourself on how to work the equipment as well as the horses at the same time. These guys make it look easy, but they've been doing it most of their life probably. I know I could do it because of my great granddad and my grandad, they taught me a lot about farming this way.
