I love a catch, punch and sweep the rear leg. Great coaching videos lads.

Well made. I probably would've emphasized that you don't want to being doing this super often. It can become predictable and get baited with greater efficacy than baiting a simple block.
Also, if you're against a Muay Thai or Taekwondo practioner or something, it might not be wise to try to cushion a shot going straight for your liver

You're 100% right about not over using it. That goes with almost every technique. Good note.
Regarding cushioning the blow, what do you mean? As opposed to NOT cushioning? In reality, a lot of catches happen without that buffer hand but if you move away from force with correct timing, it generally doesn't hurt at all.

@@martialartsunlimitedvictoria I meant that even if you try cushioning it or blocking it, it'll most likely go through your guard and you'll still feel the effects of the kick and that it would probably be better to move out of the way.
However, I'm not a fight expert anyways lol, good video, I'll definitely be checking out more of your channel 🤙🏾

@@callmefleet always open to a bit of discussion on technique. And yes, a strong kick would go through. Moving away from power is crucial.
