Worst Levels Ever # 3

- Unfortunately, although there are lots of fantastic levels and stages in video games, there are also a fair few awful ones.
I will more likely pick bad levels from games that I otherwise enjoy. These are the ones that stick out the most and can bring good games down.
I was meaning to make episodes for this series and and its sister series Best Levels Ever take turns, but what the hell, trying to do things in order isn't fun. (And this is more of a Worst Levels Ever Extra)
Please no suggestions/requests for any possible future episodes. There are two reasons why I ask this:
1. This video is all a matter of opinion. What might be my least favourite level of all time might be your most loved and vice versa. I'm hardly going to want to bash a level I love, am I?
2. I'm tired of getting requests or suggestions, and in this case, there's an especially large pool of choices, because just about every game ever has stages, levels and maps. - เกม

All the hilarious comments the game makes when you try too wake up general white though...
The first time I was doing this part without a guide, I didn't know who in Glitzville to talk to, I ended up talking to Jolene, at that point realizing I could sign up again at the arena. I got all the way up to Champion again, walked around talking to random people (at this point I had actually forgotten about General White). When I finally talked to the right guy, I remembered why I was there in the first place...
The snow town in the first paper Mario was more fun. Solving a penguin "murder" mystery was better than backtracking.

Even the X-Naut base itself isn't a great dungeon. Unlike Chapter 7 of Paper Mario 64, where the entire chapter, dungeon included, was great, probably my favorite of the entire game.

Penelope Seale Nope. Spammers, campers, bad players all around, salty kids... if you've fought at least ONE competent player on For Glory, then you're incredibly lucky.
... Although I can't deny taunt parties in For Fun are against the game's rules either.
I wasn't a huge fan of Fahr Outpost. I got the "tour of the game to reflect where you've been" but there are better ways to do it than a deceptive fetch quest.
At 8:24, in the partner selection screen, you can see for a split second that the newborn Yoshi's name is Lub Lub.

Annoying as it may be, I think the idea behind this was to bring you back to every level you've seen, just to remember what you've been through. But they've done it in the worst way possible.
So you're saying that's supposed to be some kind of buildup for the final level? Because if that's the case, jt really doesn't work that way. That's like saying a boss rush in the final level is supposed to make some buildup for the final boss.

I really think the annoyance in this part is pretty much what the game designers wanted. And it made me laugh for how blatant that was.

The moon section isn’t much fun either. Nothing like moving incredibly slowly through lots of large screens with fast enemies. At least the X-Naut fortress is good.
If you hate backtracking for no reason, I can only imagine what you'd think of Tales of Legendia. You play through the whole game's main quest and then guess what? Then you play on separate character quests and revisit every dungeon in the game. EVERY ONE.
How Mario can breath in space since the moon has no atmosphere?
Mario isn't human, he is an alien, a X-Naut who betrayed his kind and transformed to Mario as a punishment
+Minrod Vils (The night gamer) My guess would be that he's secretly eating Gyro Gearloose's "Oxy-Chew" from _Ducktales Remastered_- oxygen-flavoured taffy that lets you breathe on the lunar surface without a space suit, and apparently doesn't taste too bad either. :v
+RobotwarsKing or to even make it more known, the oxy chew was used in the original game, but wasn't mentioned.
There's even a joke in the moon in remastered where Scrooge mentions an invention that's used to carry big stuff in a pocket.

you know whats weird? I'm not usually bothered by this kind of tedium. And in fact, to me, this doesn't look that bad. Maybe I'm more resistant to such things, and as such I don't get bothered by them as much. Though I can understand how such things would annoy people.
Funny how, despite both of theses chapters you mentioned having backtracking, this game is still pretty much called the best Paper Mario game.
It's because it has the best battle system in the series
Donutgames00 Well, yes and no. I'm not gonna defend Sticker Star, there, because it was horrible, Paper Jam I haven't tried, Super Paper Mario is platforming so it doesn't count, and finally, the first Paper Mario had a pretty decent battle system.

Chapter 7 was always my least favorite chapter, tbh Chapter 4 is my favorite (cuz I love Doopliss and Vivian)
Maybe the first jump put the poor -fucker- man into a coma, and the rest of the jumps was Mario desperately trying to revive him.
I find it a bit of a trolling by the developers to have the way to return back be a teleporter that you can reuse again and again, with the fact you can't access the door unless you from the inside out.
In this game Mario has a partner that can slip through the ground, a bomb, a thief, an intelligent goomba, and a koopa with an obvious hard shell. Why is it so hard to get through a flipping door?!
At least the X-Naut Fortress music is pretty great.
This, my friends, is what happens when you try a bit too hard to parody a trope or cliché-you end up playing it straight as an arrow. And nobody likes that, right?

I have reasons to think that this chapter was this long winded because the devs wanted you to level up a bit in between searches in order to be prepared for the final stretch of the game. I didn't remember this being this tedious though.
Sadly, I remember a similar quest like that in Super Paper Mario.
Are you talking about the quest where you get the music note pixel? If so then I don't mind that one due to it being completely optional. There is also a fetch quest in the original paper mario but that is optional as well.

This is a good game, but I enjoyed watching your criticism videos, very enjoyable to watch.
For a second I thought that they sacrificed thousands of Bob-ombs just to send Mario to space. Phew, glad they survived. *For now, muahahahahahaha.*
it's funny. when you play some songs really fast, they sound completely different, and quite catchy anyway.
The part with jumping on white reminds me of DEADPOOL
It would have been better if your partners were lost in the blast-off to the moon, and landed in different parts, so the X-Nauts captured them before Mario found them, so you would have to explore their base to find them and then face against Lord Crump, it could also work if Crump had all of them imprisoned, so you would have to explore the entire base without any clue of them until TEC tells you about it (that would have added more challenge, and would be ceirtanly more fun)

...And Bonetail because of the awful trip you have to make to get to him. I got to him once, but died because I was out of good healing items and my team was on their last legs.
So for the developers. Was it revisiting every location one last time or just filler?

i don't think it's supposed to be a parody of tedium in regular rpgs; i think it's to make you remember places so the payoff in the final battle with everyone in the game cheering you on has more punch

yeah Creepy Steeple I can actually look past all of the Bactracking, but if there's a videogame character I hate more than Navi or Tingle must be General White due to all the pain it puts you through with the backtracking
One thing you left out is that you get cheered up later in the chapter by the music in the X-Naut Fortress

The part where you keep jumping to wake him up, I thought they wrote a big list of random things to say when asking to try again, and it was an endless loop, that you had to go do something else first. You ACTUALLY have to just keep jumping?! Come on, that's way too much! Even if you dont stop at 3 or 4, why??

I honestly hate seeing my favorite game of all time get bashed like this, but to be honest, General White was the absolute worst moment in the entire Paper Mario series. At least you get rewarded with the best scene in the series afterward. But even THAT doesn't feel like much of a reward after General White... why do I like this game again?
That's a question I would like to know for the people who are obsessed with that game.

I like Fahr Outpost snowy atmosphere and music, but the back-tracking is really tedious though, it was kind unecessary

This is just ridiculous reasoning. You've always had to do some preparation before starting the actual chapter in the series. While I did this part, I also got some Trouble Center jobs done along the way, and even fought Rawk Hawk for fun. This fetch quest is completely unnecessary, but by no means is this one of the Worst Levels Ever.
