Yes it was sad but that was the second saddest imo the first would be Clay getting hugged in the dance party S2Ep13 and the third saddest scene is the one where Clay says to Hannah that he loves her and she responds "why didn't you say this to me when I was alive"

the scene been cut but I watched it when it was uncut. it really raised awareness shouldn't have been cut.
Yehh it was cut. There were loads of complaints, and after a women's daughter (who was Bipolar) committed suicide a few weeks after watching 13Reasons they axed the scene.
Its unfortunate as it was soooo grim and raw, if anything they've done the show a disservice as it highlighted how painful/traumatising suicide is 🤦♀️

Of course it was cut. It needed to be that scene and the show in general raised a 29% ( statistic from the Journal of the American Academy of child and adolescent psychiatry ) increase in suicides the month after it was released. Not to mention saying that it’s not that bad because it was a girl who is bipolar isn’t right either because about 90% of people who die by Suicide have a mental health problem. ( according to NAMI the National Alliance on Mental Health. ) So really think about it, is it better we have this scene in?

@@BrooklynHallett But the scene was not romanticized one bit, you can see Hannah hesitating and you can almost feel her pain. If something like that motivated someone to commit suicide, I'm sorry, they were doomed from the start (or haven't received enough help). I didn't even want to look at my wrists for a solid week or two after seeing that.
Everyone involved in 13rw should be immensely proud of everything about it. It shows real issues that happen all over the world everyday and learns everyone that your actions do have consequences and have a knock on effect for lots of people. All the actors are amazing, especially Dylan Minette. If it saves even one person then it's worth it isn't it?
But they also go against mental health professionals who have guidelines on how to portray suicide, they actually do glamourise it and hold it on a pedestal, it can be very triggering to people who suffer with mental illness
Suicide rates raised drastically, she killed her self selfishly for revenge on others. the show did not show how to reach out to others it showed them HOW to do it and not to stop it. It goes against all mental health guidelines and is VERY triggering to viewers who've experience anything like this before.
@@ashsasmr8185 This show was not meant for people facing those troubles bcz that would definitely make them feel more depressed and could result one committing suicide thats why they added a disclaimer at the starting of each season .IMO the show was excellent definitely dark and emotional yet phenomenal

Allen Payne when Tyler got a mopstick up the butthole in the school bathroom no one in my school used the bathroom for the rest of the year and it was a topic of bullying that everyone talked out
i had to turn my face so i didn't even realize he got a mop up the ass until there was articles saying "this show has gone too far"
I don't cry over movies, much less TV shows. But when Hannah's mom discovers Hannah in the bathtub... man. That bothered me so much.
Dylan's face is very serious ... this show is difficult because the story is very hard and intense. But the program changed the lives of many people and now we can see how children, students tell their parents about the bulliyng they suffer in school. So the fact of having done this series has helped many people and within the bad that relates has a good part in real life. In this case it is that we talk more about the buliyng and that we have more care and attention with those who suffer it

I've only seen the scene once when watching the show, and I can still vividly remember how it played out. It was so surreal and such an OMG moment.

i loved season 2. how it addressed that maybe they DIDN'T have to pass on the tapes. maybe they couldn't know WHY she left those tapes. how she was really mean for just blaming everyone for HER choice. just all that. it was really good that they showed that too.
Hazard it did blame them though.. they were THE 13 reasons WHY she killed herself... :)

And some of those people were just teens being teens. Teens do stupid shit all the time, we've all been there. Of course being a rapist is another thing, but that's beyond excusable anyways.

Hannah's suicide scene was incredibly hard for me to watch. I actually got physically sick watching it. I can't imagine what it was like to film it.

All that work with editing and everything and it was deleted because a mother thought the show had something to do with it. The show was raising awareness and like usual good stuff is too overwhelming for the “sensitive world”

Well here I go, according to the Journal of American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry the month after which 13 Reasons Why first aired there was a 28.9 percent increase in Suicide among ages 10-19 the target audience for this show. So it wasn’t just one family. Also “sensitive world” dude you’re not those families and have no idea what it is like for them personally. So please enlighten yourself.

The suicide scene (before the edit) made me literally throw up. No other movie, TV show, or anything else has ever affected me in that way.
It made me so sad for Hannah… she’s been through enough trauma!

It was necessary cause it showed how other characters dealed with their problems and how their lives went on. It was necesary not only to show the problems(season 1)but also their solutions(season 2).
