What a time to be alive. Kayfabe is no longer a thing! The very same guys who'd beat the brakes off ya in the 90s for asking of the industry's legitimacy, are now the ones spilling locker room secrets. They and especially cornette wanted dire consequences for hbk, hhh, hall and nash for hugging at an untelevised house show at the garden
I agree! I was just telling my wife that same thing yesterday. I want to share this with my brother from another mother. Sadly he ended his own life a few years back. Undertaker was is absolute favorite
Mark Calaway is a hilarious dude. The fact that he maintained kayfabe in real life for so long to the point of hiding this part of his life is incredible.
My mama ,God Rest her soul, passed the February before TAKER made the Hall of Fame. And I CRIED like a baby when you were inducted. She was a very troubled woman but you will never know the PURE JOY she had following your career . Mania 26 even caused a full fledged 2 week silent treatment war in our house . THANK YOU TAKER for giving it all you had and what you gave to a troubled little lady in Benton Arkansas 😊❤❤❤
That is hilarious. I never heard of anybody coming up with a tag team with Taker and IRS calling themselves Death and Taxes. I can picture them ending a promo with Rotunda saying ....:the only two things in life that is certain, Death" and the camera pans over to Taker and says ..."and Taxes" as Taker rolls his eyes back and throat slashes.
Yokozuna always had the best terrified look on his face when facing taker in matches. Looked legitimately scared to death. Also, the idea of Taker sending mideon a picture of flipper to illustrate what his toeless foot now looked like is the funniest fucking thing I've ever heard. 🤣🤣🤣
*FAN QUESTION* - At 7 & just getting out of hospital w/ cast from hip to ankle, I got to see *Mean Mark @ The Oil Palace in Tyler, TX in mid-80s* 1st row & get a hand-slap. There you did #OldSchool *W/O holding anyone’s hand.* When/what caused the change to hand holding? To go farther out on ropes? An injury? Or some other reason (ie, insuring against possible injury)? Thanks again for making me feel like the coolest kid for the high-5/hand-slap when everyone @ school was making fun of me for having to use crutches or be in wheelchair after taxi hit me.
I remember being a kid and my dad showed me a tape of the Royal Rumble Casket match with Taker And Yokozuna and 5 year old me thought it was the coolest and scariest thing I had ever seen when Taker was in the casket and said he would never rest in peace
If Yokozuna had ever dedicated himself to getting in shape he would’ve been one of the biggest athletic freaks ever. As heavy as he was he could do a whole match and was crazy athletic.
Imagine being a Bouncer and seeing Yokozuna walking in with Rikishi and Undertaker Together you would be like ''hey boss any problems tonight we ain't doing shit !'' 🤣🤣🤣
It would be interesting if you get to have Maven as a guest in one of the episodes! It would be nice to hear Undertaker and Maven share what they were thinking when they first met and how they worked together. The point of view of a Legend and a Newbie from that time is a great recipe for an entertaining episode!
@@KathyAnne28 it was Mable aka viscera the first time. Where he had to wear the mask. Second time years later. Rey Mysterio did it when he did the jump after 619. Rey slipped and his butt landed right on takers face
The conversations and seeing taker be mark so good, My table ended up like his almost filled with beer cans 😂 Like i was with them. Cheers six feet under
Yoko broke kayfabe in early 90's. They came to my town, my friends and I were waiting for wrestlers to show up in the parking lot at the back of the arena, yoko came out with the headshrinkers shook all of our hands and yoko stepped on my foot by accident. He kept apologising that when I knew he was a good guy and became a fan of his right away. He was was such a cool cat.😊
Fun fact: most redheads like Taker and myself have a genetic mutation which we need much more alcohol to get drunk as well as more anesthesia during surgeries.
Hey man big fan from the uk. Been a fan since your debut. Funny story for you, when i was about 8 maybe 9 years old, i told my mum i wanted to meet the undertaker so 1993 time. I begged and begged to meet you, my mum generally unaware of who i meant took me to an actual undertaker, I thought it was a joke, the man tells me he’s the undertaker there. I was not impressed to say the least. I basically threw a fit because he wasn’t you. And they were trying to tell me he was the undertaker. I didn’t even know there was a difference 😂. Anyway I just wanted to let you know how much joy you brought to my life growing up. So many memories. I cannot thank you enough! I’m glad you are doing well, love the podcast! Boy you guys do a great job.thank you
The sight of th undertaker sitting up, no-selling, hitting a tombstone for the win, while Paul bearer raises the urn up, is 100% responsible for me loving wrestling from a very young age
Ok. As a O.G. wrestling fan. I can honestly say that The UNDERTAKER is ABSOLUTELY the Greatest Embodiment of what Pro Wrestling is all about. That guy changed with the time as the years went by. Always different looks here or there. Probably one of Vince's Greatest creations
I love six feet under. Podcast its amazing i was wondering could you guys talked about THE UNDERTAKER and KANE stories please. The brothers of the destruction. WAS AMAZING❤❤❤❤❤

One of the first rivalries i ever got to see as a wrestling fan growing up was The Undertaker vs Yokozuna, on paper it looked like a mismatch but once they got in the ring and went at it, it was a lot of fun to watch. Two big guys moving at lightning speed was quite a rare sight to see at the time, there was always so much energy from the crowd whenever they hooked up. I loved their casket match at Royal Rumble 94, there was not a single dull moment in that one. My favourite moment was when they had a segment before the ppv and never said a word, they stared each other down with the crowd going completely nuts and once Taker got more close up to Yoko, the place popped even louder and then Yoko quickly backed off with everyone booing loudly at him . I would have loved to have seen them had a match at Wrestlemania 10 as they deserved it. Lots of great memories watching these two go at it

Yoko and Foley are probably top two. He and Yoko had amazing chemistry and the matches flowed so well. Taker and Mankind was probably the highlight of 1996 WWF with the wars they had, and then the title match the following year at IYH and then the Cell match the following year.

Mark you must live forever or at least until I pass so I can go out with a smile. You've given me over 30+ years years as The Undertaker but this is so special too. Thank you Mark!
I was in a bar and Andre the Giant and a few lesser known wrestlers walked in and Andre was drinking and I seen a bouncer who was about 260.00 pounds eyeing Andre thinking he was going to have some fun with the big dumb and drunk wrestler the other wrestlers told him he better think twice but he did not and to Andres credit he took alot of BS then I still cannot believe this Andre with one arm threw this 260 pound bouncer over the bar ! I think the bouncer retired after that.
How about a traditional 5v5 Survivor series match, BSK vs The Kliq? Or maybe the new version - War Games? It woulde've bee so beautiful, at the end of the match, Taker standing in his pose in the middle of the ring, all around him bloody bodies, weapons and carnage. And the music...
For me it was Yokozuna who made the Undertaker in my eyes. I was very young, but I remember my first exposure to wrestling was with Yoko as a champion, after the whole Lex Luger thing. In my young eyes he was this dastardly unbeatable monster... yet he was terrified of that guy. We used to call the Undertaker (not knowing his named) "The one that terrifies Yokozuna". The casket matches they had in 1994 are so much better than they ever had any right to be. I'd prefer Survivor Series '94 to Royal Rumble.
Taker,Yoko and Brett were close.
we need a BSK reunion on this podcast all living memebers.

@TomKeresey10 do it at the PC inside the ring for that episode

Taker and this guy have great chemistry. Their banter always cracks me up.

Man seeing Taker out of character is so cool. It’s really cool how his regular speaking voice sounds nothing like his character voice.
