- A new LEGO Star Wars TIE Bomber has arrived for 2023. It looks FANTASTIC. The mix of play and display here is perfect and at a reasonable $65 price-tag this is the best LEGO Star Wars 2023 set so far! While it fronts as a Return of the Jedi anniversary set, the TIE Bomber was predominately featured in The Empire Strikes Back while Minifigure Rae Sloane appeared in neither movie. Anyways, I think everyone should buy this m'kay?

I'm so exited that we're getting characters like Rae Sloane who only appear in games and comics, it's great that lego is exploring other Star Wars content

It works with the 2021 tie fighter. When you look at tie bombers or the tie advanced next to a standard tie fighter the wings are indeed significantly shorter.
That means the 2022 tie interceptor will probably match the size of thoses two

The 2021 TIE would look better if it were rebuilt using a smaller window like this one.
The only thing not to scale on the 2021 fighter is the cockpit “ball”. They should have constructed the “ball” for the 2021 fighter similarly to the bomber.

I’m so glad they made a new face print for Darth Vader. I think the old one we used to get where he’s smiling like a happy old grandpa would, just doesn’t fit the Darth Vader vibe at all? This is definitely one of the best faces we’ve ever gotten for him imo
Yeah it fits when he is talking to Luke in episode 6 and I guess they reused it since we dont really see him without the helmet otherwise. This new one is much better tho
I personally think this is the best TIE fighter so far, it has a clean look, and I like the size actually, just the price is quit off putting.
Tie Bomber's height makes sense here. Tie Fighters are about 29 ft tall while bombers are 17 ft tall.
If you keep pumping out content like this, you’ll be at a million before you know it!

This is definitely being added to the collection now that I've seen it in more detail! Unsure whether to grab it on release day or (more likely) hold off for a bargain, but it'll be great to finally have a TIE Bomber in the fleet.
Love how you get some of these sets before LAN members. Just shows once again how dedicated you are to LEGO, that you’re willing to pay double the price to get stuff early
I think that LAN members get their sets super super early, they just don't upload their reviews until LEGO tells them they can. I know Solid Brix has talked in his early reviews about how he's filming them months before he uploads them.
Well... by getting the video out first he maximises the interest and views it will get. The ad revenue covers the cost of precuring the set.
This set matches the scale of the Vader Advanced Tie from the Vader Castle set.

Seeing how well this came out really makes me want an official lego tie punisher, which is essentially this but with 5 pods, two stacked on top each other on each side of the cockpit. It's a bit overboard but it's also really cool
This is definitely a set that will be looked at fondly in the future, great build great figs and a great price at $65? This will be a legendary set.
Especially with that 20 year gap.

All the TIE design pretty much at the same time and probably at the same size is awsome, they wont look off together
I don’t know why everyone says the figures are great. There’s one (average) exclusive and the rest are figures everyone already has multiple of
@@johnnybaxter1953 Just because you might already have a few Darth Vaders or TIE pilots doesn't make the figures in this set any worse. They're still good figs.
@@crazydog1750 They are definitely good quality figures, but the more common something is the less value is has. If everyone had a cloud city boba fett it wouldn’t be cool anymore. The build looks great though, and I’ll definitely be picking up at least 1
I now really want a remake of Vader's TIE Advanced with this wing design and/or TIE Advanced vs Red 5 for the next mircofighter wave. Great videos, been a massive fan of the channel for a while. Keep up the good work.
I bet there will be a lot of people making modifications to turn this into a TIE Advanced, especially since Vader is included.
I think a 2x2 plate should be able to rest on top of the missiles. It would look good for display and easy to remove for the play feature. Would probably fall inside the build if it was used like a button to launch the missiles though
I think I'm gonna mod a 2x2 tile in that can press down but not fall out of the bottom or the top with a few special pieces. Kind of like a button
A 2x2 inverted tile might work too if you want it attached, although maybe the bars wont go in the holes far enough to look proper

I am surprised by how small the Bomber is when compared to the TIE fighters. The bomb-dropping function is a bit lackluster, but overall a great playset!
Just got this set for myself. It really was worth waiting 20 years. So much better than the older set we got back then. Hopefully we will get a Tie Interceptor too some time soon.

Its a rly good tie bomber and props to the designers. Kinda wished they were able to make that windscreen work so we can see the pilot, but I bet they tried their best and found out they couldn't properly do it.

Love tie bombers. Used to collect Star Wars Action Fleet toys when I was kid before LEGO Star Wars was a thing and the tie bomber model was always one of my favorites. Definitely getting this set. Only wish it was a little larger.
As a viewer who’s been on Ryan’s channel since literally day one, right now is what I hoped the future would look like! Lego is awesome and all of you guys in the comment sections are awesome keep it up and I love yall !

A part of me still wishes they had gone with a light blue color, instead of grey, like the actual screen used TIE Bomber model; but I think this looks great. The small size doesn’t bother me since I’m running out of space anyway. Easily my most anticipated set from the last several years.
I’m glad some characters seem to be getting consistent arm printing.

Will definitely be getting this to go with the few other LEGO Imperial Vehicles I have. Looks awesome and figures look great, especially Vader.
Looks like it would be very easy to tile over the flick launcher spot on top and if you were to replace the front of the bomber section with a flat 2x2 round tile it would be easily converted to a tie boarding craft as seen in Rogue One and Andor.
I modified my TIE Bomber by replacing the flickfire bomb missile thingies with a Y Wing style hollow bomb bay with a trapdoor for releasing said bombs (which are now much smaller). Definetly one of the best modifications I've done to a ship. It was pretty simple too. I gutted the ordinance pod, re-tiled the top and slapled a trapdoor where the missile gap used to be.
This Tie Bomber looks very cool. With the new Vader face abd the flick fire missles used as the bombs are very interesting. I like this set. It's very cool
The fact that they used the crate piece for the Gonk droid is really cool, although it still says 'cargo' in Aurebesh.

As a predominantly prequel Lego fan I won’t be picking this up but am super happy for the people who have wanted it!

I think so too, that TIE’s window is really too big. I’d try to modify it if I could get another window piece.
You could try the windshield piece from 2012 one.
Epic set with all the misprints on the clones so happey to see they put the effort in and gave us prints with cool figs and epic ship

I feel like all OT sets this next year may have the ROTJ crest. Just like the battlepack being based off of Battlefront 2 and having the Clone Wars anniversary set, despite not being from the Clone Wars ‘03.
I definitely want this bomber, but I definitely can wait for the price adjustment or sales. Walmart always drops the prices at some point.
A good Tie fighter with great minifigures (especially new Darth Vader) and at reasonable price. Perfection!
This set is just so freaking good, I plan on getting two of it for my Imperial Navy!
Although I understand that the uniform of a Grand Admiral looks cooler than the one of a lower ranking imperial officer I think the uniform choice for Vice Admiral Sloane is a little underappreciated by some people:
Not only is Lego's choice more accurate for the time frame (ESB and RotJ) being associated with this set as already pointed out here in the video, the 5x2 rank insignia Sloane is wearing in this set was never seen on a minifigure of an imperial officer before and might even stay exclusive for her given the fact that she is the most known officer in Star Wars media who held that rank. Also considering that Thrawn will most likely appear in the upcoming Star Wars projects again, it is even more likely that we will see a new Thrawn minifigure in the next one or two years and with it the actually accurate uniform of a Grand Admiral.
Otherwise this set seems solid although they also could have given us an Admiral Piett and/or Ozzel (maybe even instead of Vader) and therefor could have corrected the missed opportunity to throw these two characters in Vader's meditation chamber where they should have been. Looks like these two characters will not get a minifig until Lego releases a new Executor :(

I agree. I was hoping for either Piett or maybe a generic Lieutenant since the UCS Star Destroyer is retiring but Vice Admiral is good to finally have.
I hope we do get a new Thrawn soon- still can't believe they messed him up like that.
@@callumpears1523 True, it is kind of weird that higher ranking officers like naval captains and commodores are seen way more often (especially in cheaper sets) than lower officer ranks.
For the 2017 Thrawn minifig the rank insignia error at least has the advantage that this will most likely remain unique to this minifig and the minifig therefor could even keep its high value when they release a new version of him with an accurate rank insignia.
@@imperialesoberkommando yeah I was tempted to take an eraser to some of my old Captain figures and make them into Lieutenants (then the UCS destroyer with an official Lieutenant got revealed like a week later but it's still been hard to get hold of that figure lol). Crazy that one of the lowest and most common ranks is one of the most expensive officer minifigures.

I would have liked if they used the same mechanism from the Resistance Y-Wing for the bombs. It seems large enough to fit it... would like to test that.

Just got mine today. Never got to have the og version, I remember playing battlefront 2 space battle with this thing. Now all I need is an interceptor and my ties are complete

There is a way to drop the missile launcher down a brick's height and engineer a mechanism to allow you to simply push down a tile on the top of the bomber and have the missiles drop.

Got the X wing and Tie fighter for Christmas so when I get new shelves, gonna display them alongside their respective helmets and also add this bomber to the “tie shelf”…by doing this, I feel like it only makes sense to get the small Slave 1 and Razor Crest to go with the Boba and Mando helmets, should make for a couple of cool displays
I'm probably going to get a few. One for the set, another to turn into a TIE Boarding craft, and a third to finish the boarding craft and get other spare parts.

I was going to get this anyway as the Bomber is my favourite TIE variant but the Improved Vader and Sloane really finish it off.
a standard 2x2 brick with a tile on top fits perfectly over the missiles and when you push the missiles down it falls flush

These tie bomber wings would make EXCELLENT custom Star Wars the force unleashed custom set pieces with the imperial frost robots on kamino. Those giant ones with the shields and ice cannons
Fun fact that thing hanging off the bottom is not a bombing chute is actually a sensor to find the Target to drop the bombs on

They so totally could've put the sleek spring loaded shooter in the center of the 2nd canister to add another play feature. Despite that it looks amazing and I will definitely add it to my collection

I still can't believe after 20 years it's finally back...
I built this yesterday... best early birthday gift...
I made a few modifications to the roof (cover boms and changed the dark grey parts) around of the bomb tube and made a ramp so i can pretend its a tie bording craft...
Something ive relised is its too small.. if we use a minifigue as 1.5m tall the tie bommer id 6.3m wide 6m long and 5.1m tall..
The real size is 9.3m wide, 8m long but the hight is quite good
Ive been trying to find whats the small bit.. it seems to br the tubes and the conevting block but the solor panels ate just a but shot (not long enough like the tubes)
I also replaced the stud shooter with some bricks because they weren't inportant to me, will use them for something else...
My collector friend was not, happy ....
I really like the smaller sets that are good, because these are the one I can ask for from my grandparents and cousins, because they aren't going to spend as much money
