I can't understand what they are talking about. Please asure your students don't be frustrated about that. I i don't understand them at all. My advise! Carry on and go ahead. Be that as it may-which is a _real_ B2 expression, if not C1-as far as I really _am_ concerned, you’re my personal favorite online English teacher. 😇 Enjoy life, Wes! You only live once.

Yes, you can say "It didn't cross my mind," whenever you did not think of something. In this context, you would not say "I didn't get it through my head." Hope this helps. 👍

"No one really likes you, and I guess you won't be flabbergasted to hear you're such a pain in the neck!" "This meetup might break the ice and make you feel each other," he suggested. Yes, they are similar. But I think 'take one's breath away' is more appropriate with things that are beautiful. 👍
