Check the manufactures label before changing voltage. There are 2 motors, one for 110 to 120vac, the other 220vac. If you plug in a 110 volt motor to 220 volts you better have a fire extinguisher. 🧯 🔥 Yes a 220vac motor may run on 110vac but not in that shag rug. Otherwise, keep up the good work, great videos. 👍
I have seen comments recommending you to buy expensive voltage converters but don’t bother I owned a dc01 for a few years, and they are just “meh” Not bad, not great but definitely unique. I proffered my 93 hoover turbopower more. Also I don’t know how rare dc01’s are in the US but here in England they are very cheap and easy to find, even the old DA001 are fairly easy to find
Dc01 are cool and I’m looking forward getting Dc03 or Dc04 I know uk ship to USA is expensive I heard everyone put American cord and motor on to Dc03 or Dc04 and I heard those are interesting
You definitely want to get a transformer. To my knowledge there is no US motor that can be fit in these. Running it on 120 could damage the motor. Also at 2:57 you sucked some hair right into the motor
I can’t really justify buying a transformer because this machine is never used. I finished the refurb back in February and since then it had never been turned on. Just now realized the video. And yes I did see that I sucked some hair into the motor however I cleaned the motor very well on a live I did quite a while back and off camera as well. Motor sounds perfect now!
@@tmmaston I have a plug adapter that allows me to use it. The motor is running at half its normal power. But I am at least able to tell it’s in good condition
Running on half of the voltage, this thing sounds like an old cordless stick vac with half of the battery life left. I wonder what kind of US motor can interchange in this.
It honestly seems to work quite well but it would be interesting to see if a USA motor could swap in there. But I honestly don’t think so due to the casing of the housing
Can you still get a 122 to 240 V adapter i’ve been finding them at Publix and that thing will work on your DC 01 and Amazon has a portable worldwide power adapter on amazon
Hello delon❤ This is a good video that I've ever seen, friends are always connected, if friends need authentic Indonesian recipes, I make them, I complete your language for each video so you can try Indonesian dishes, greetings from Indonesia, friends
That turned out quite nicely. I am so jealous that you have a DC01

@@DillonCleans Did you use the DC07 motor in this?
@tmmaston it’s still got the original dc01 motor in it
@@DillonCleans That's the original? Nice. How were you able to use it without a converter?

@@DillonCleans The shaft diameter would definitely be probably the biggest issue, so it can still run the belt for the brush roll.
