- A Cape York Series Part Four
After exploring the North East part of Cape York we then set our sights on the west.
Starting the episode in Weipa, a relatively developed town & seeing tarmac for the first time in days! we then go fishing & mud crabbing seeking a close by estuary system that had a few local crocs hanging around.
After Weipa we then decide to hit the road again with our new friends Sarah & Reece from the NT who we have met along our travels, but we don't travel very far, Pennefather river is our destination, a remote area where the river meets the ocean, full of the craziest marine life we have ever scene!
We were very lucky to have met our new friends, who are experienced anglers that taught us a lot about fishing, this region was defiantly a highlight of our travels so far & we actually caught lots of fish! I know right....

Nice!, The little red fish is a tomato cod and good eating but not much on them. The four posts on the beach were the legs of our cleaning table so you must have arrived just after I left. The lagoon is saltwater but only slightly affected by the tides, the river used to run into it on the high tide but that stopped about 4 or 5 years ago. great video, stay safe, cheers, Bob.
