Chris, you're one of the most natural interviewers I've ever had the pleasure to listen to. And honestly, what you "might" lack in ability next to a Joe Rogan, you more than make up for it with your intelligence. Great work!
The conversation you had with Mike at around 27:00 I can relate heavily. When I have conversations with friends and family, I usually would love to dive into the topic and really talk about whatever it is in the moment and throw out questions about it. Once we reach an area where we do not have any idea about, I would ask about opinions and how they feel about it. Sometimes I get responses like "I do not know anything about it so I don't have an opinion" or "I do not know anything about it so I don't want to talk about it.". Though I can understand from their perspective that they may be exhausted from the conversation from thinking but just because you don't know much about a topic doesn't mean it has to stop there.
The secret to not being affected by comments is sitting and feeling fully, how you feel emotionally by 'x' comment. Once you have worked through them emotions you are less likely to care/acknowledge/receive such comments. It's a game changer. ❤ work through them.
Interesting to hear how guys feel about ageing too. A common piece of advice I hear from older people whenever I'm being self critical, is that I will look back at myself in 20/30/40 years with much kinder eyes. So I try to remember that, and appreciate what I have now. ...Actually that applies to life in general too not just physical appearance.
@@brianmeen2158 one of my regular clients told me last week she saw an old holiday photo of herself from her 30s and thought 'Damn, I was pretty hot there!' 😂 she's in her mid 60's now and I'm sure when she was that age she would have been riddled with insecurities about the odd wrinkle or grey hair or wearing a bikini. The bar in reality is low but the bar on social media is absurd. In addition to photo shop the number of women that have had "work done" is unbelievable. I have no intention of throwing shade, yet as a woman who is choosing to age naturally, trying to compare ourselves to others that are choosing certain procedures can be crazy making. You have to keep focusing on character and things that matter. No matter how you look, this is what draws people to you, sincerity and putting yourself to service, being a shoulder for those you love.
*It's quite strange for me to hear the things being said in the beginning of this conversation in regards to beating yourself up because you don't look as good as you used to look, because I was chubby in my teens, fat and unhealthy throughout my twenties into my early thirties, and only now at the age of 36 have I finally got in shape. Now obviously I would have looked better had i got in shape when i was younger, but I can honestly say that my body looks better than it has ever looked and I'm feeling great about it. So in a strange way, I almost feel fortunate that I took this long to get healthy.*
mike giving himself body dysmorphia is funny af purely because its so relatable. when I get diced my face is lean af abs just popping but then naturally you put on abit more water weight etc still lean af but the mental bullying from my face not being as lean or my quads not being as separated is unreal.
Love the podcast Chris!!! As a 35 yo male ur curiosity and guest choices are usually in-line with what I’m interested in. Speaking on the having a kid, just go for it if u know ur partner is right. Having a child is not an end goal, they grow and evolve and learn with u, and ur never prepared enough. Just jump and enjoy the ride and u will look back at the things u think are important now and realize just how much u grow from truly putting your child’s needs in front of your own.
I find it interesting how you mentioned your self doubt being "am I doing the right thing/doing things right". Because that is exactly the difference between efficient and effective. You're efficient by doing the right things and effective when doing things right. Now your podcasts are probably effectively efficient but that's another story I guess.
I think another major factor that plays a role in body dysmorphia is tanning. Being tanned can make one look vastly more shredded than someone who is pale. Also, a lot of bodybuilders shave body hair to create the illusion of more vascularity. Loads of factors and tricks come into it
Mike - in regards to what you said about relationships - as a person who has been married for +10 years and still feels like I'm on a honeymoon :), I'll say this: a relationship needs to be worked on from start to finish, sure - but... contrary to appearances, it's nothing hard. It just requires sytematicity (like the gym) and communication. So being a podcaster and looking the way you look, you won't have a problem with that. Of course, you have to make some concessions and not everything will always be perfect. But if the couple has similar goals (or a common goal) COMMUNICATES with each other and each party continues to care about being attractive to the other, the rest will work itself out. For example - our vision of the perfect evening is a glass of wine, good music and the opportunity to sit together and talk. If you find someone with whom (after a year of being together) you still have a ton of things to talk about - then you've good :). Best of luck in your search of "the one".

The problem is many of of these 'male models' with big muscles are not all being honest. Not just with editing pictures, but all the 'supplements' and/or 'gear' (drugs) they are taking. Therefore, giving young males the impression of working hard gives you these gains, it does not, so many young lads are chasing an unachievable goal (with out 'help')!
@@brianmeen2158 Genes play a massive part in building/gaining muscles, alongside diet and of course exercise itself! And where do you get that opinion from concerning the videogames over fitness?
He's successful in his fitness niche so not a hate comment but there's not much else is there? No real views or opinions or knowledge. Followed this guy for years too
I don’t want to hate, but I find it wild how people sit on TH-cam and make people rich by watching them do things, rather than doing things themselves. It’s kinda sad. No disrespect to these guys, but damn, it makes me want to continue going out and living my life and do the things I enjoy. The thought of millions of people watching a handsome guy live a “dream life” is kind of a symptom of what’s going on these days. I like some of the more intellectual podcasts, such as what Peterson puts out, but goodness sakes I bet our anscestors would have never thought in a million years that someone could get rich off of a lifestyle TH-cam channel. It’s insane. What a crazy time we live in. Let’s go out an live our life instead of watching others live theirs!!❤
Currently doing the long work hours and my training is holding strong, but I have about an hour a night to relax after dinner and before bed. For now an acceptable balance
If you have body dysmorphia you very likely have too much time on your hands and not enough important responsibilities or you work in an industry that revolves around physical appearance. That’s why it’s more common among teens and young adults. Too much time on your hands, too much social media, not enough important responsibilities. In fact I would argue that body dysmorphia is developed when you have too much luxury and comfort. Imagine one of your biggest problems in life is worrying if you look good or not.
Nah. Just because it can happen that way it doesn't mean it always happens that way. I work very long days in a well paid industry and have plenty of responsibilities to juggle. But I always had an extremely active metabolism and looked like a twig (to the point where my body weight literally has not changed between the ages of 16 and 26 when I started working out). And after I finally decided to put an end to it and really really work my ass off at the gym, I now live in perpetual paranoia that unless I work out like crazy and eat until I feel sick I will deflate like a balloon and go back to having no interest from women and no respect from men (like when I was a super skinny teen).
@@stereoheartsrnbIt depends on the problems. Some problems can completely change your outlook on life and override other problems. Not all problems stack, some override.
Hey Chris. Been listening to your LFPC, Moderwisdom for a while and just subscribed so I could share a possible guest for you, Michael Easter. I don’t want to seem like I am schilling his book so I won’t mention it but I think his story and message will fit you subject matter. Thanks for all the great guests you bring on. Cheers!
I couldn't agree more with the first point of this video. The transformation I had from skinny fat to fit, gave me a lot of confidence. My transformation after that was never the same. I was never satisfied after that. Although I know there is a change, it just never seems enough. But still, I show my fitness journey on my TH-cam channel and I show the reality of getting fit and staying healthy...
The only thing I would changed in this video would be doing the podcast in a different place rather than Mike's appartment... Sometimes you put a lot of effort to find the perfect place and enviromnent, while other times looks like its kinda irrelevant to you... Love you and Mike tho!
being healthy and fit physically is important, but if you place too much emphasis on appearance rather than your contribution to humanity, that is a dark path to travel down, your main focus should be drinking water and lots of sleep and a lot of walking, and be productive throughout the day, and effective in business, family, etc. you actually only need 30 minutes a day to exercise to be fit, too many people are placing too big an emphasis on their bodies, unless you are a pro athlete or stage athlete, it should not be you main focus
Podcast dysmorphia. I think is a thing. Probably better terminology out there but the idea would be you comparing yourself to these guys, or someone else's pod. Nothing against them, nor do I think they would want that, but it's just a "natural" thing for a person to do. I told my daughter, when she was learning to ride a bike, learning at the level you're at is okay and that when someone makes fun or says "well such and such already knows how...," to not take that personal, and that each person learns differently. I encouraged the other kids too, that it's okay and awesome they learn how to do it quickly at their pace.
Your idea about having a show where you know nothin about the guests is the same as the "Tommy Tiernan Show" in Ireland. It's a TV interview and he doesn't know which guest is coming and it's all improvised conversation. Very good watch.
“I feel like it's quite hard to be confident when you have no money in your account” Confidence is self worth. How happy you are with who you are. You get big swinging dick over confidence that manifests as EGO. And you get quiet confidence from someone who's at peace but doesn't feel the need to brag about it. You don't need to be a millionaire to give yourself permission to like yourself. Maybe Mike does (there's no *one* way) but just wanted to get this down. Money ≠ Confidence. Being proud of yourself = Confidence.

It’s insane. What a crazy time we live in. Let’s go out an live our life instead of watching others live theirs!!❤
Loved this one. Mike you have done so well, yet super chilled. Great mind set.
If it's a problem to you, having bigger problems isn't going to solve that problem. It's just going to add more problems.
@@stereoheartsrnb great insight
Absolutely right
@@stereoheartsrnbIt depends on the problems. Some problems can completely change your outlook on life and override other problems. Not all problems stack, some override.
Cool of Chris to interview his brother
Hey Chris. Been listening to your LFPC, Moderwisdom for a while and just subscribed so I could share a possible guest for you,
Michael Easter. I don’t want to seem like I am schilling his book so I won’t mention it but I think his story and message will fit you subject matter. Thanks for all the great guests you bring on.
Cheers!
0:20 blud says as his arms are 5 times the size of a regular fella lmaooo respect
as I get older I only feel I improve in looks and body, however the recovery is something I feel too.
I couldn't agree more with the first point of this video. The transformation I had from skinny fat to fit, gave me a lot of confidence. My transformation after that was never the same. I was never satisfied after that. Although I know there is a change, it just never seems enough. But still, I show my fitness journey on my TH-cam channel and I show the reality of getting fit and staying healthy...
wonderful podcast
Remember everyone……. Not everyone will like you. Not everyone matters.
Haters will always hate.

'Be careful with who you're following'
Top tip: don't follow Mike if you want to like how you look 😅
Your end of year show was the best! Completely human!👮🇺🇸
*Wishing all God's children a productive, peaceful, and joyful day at work. May you experience His grace and love in every moment.Amen 💕🙏❤*
Never thought this is collab we needed the most lol 😆
How the hell did he even last 1 hour. Dude has nothing to talk about except going gym, partying and socialising lmao
F'in love this podcast. I like Mike a lot and he is a 'real' guy who doesn't seem like his 'fame' has turned him into a douchebag.
You guys could pass as brothers
Good morning starting this morning listening to today's episode ❤
Goob is the guy mike talks about editing videos
I love Mike.
You have so many interesting people available for a chat, why choose him?
Who's next? Liver king?
i wanna see balzerian and pauly d.
You guys are so self involved! Step back a bit, just live, get a long view.
I really like Mike, but geez that whole juice question just hangs over his head. It's so obvious.
My reason for going to the gym was i was already a 5 foot 3 guy and didnt want to be small short guy.(Also short range of motion is OP)
Man Like Mike!
Stellar conversation from two of my favourite blokes ❤ Thank you 🙏
“I feel like it's quite hard to be confident when you have no money in your account”
Confidence is self worth.
An hour of Chris interviewing Chris😂😂
