  • BTS Sky Train is the first electric mass transit railway system to commence operations in Thailand, built and operated by the Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited (BTSC).
    Inaugurated on 5th December 1999, BTS Skytrain operates on 2 lines, serving 23 stations in total.
    Sukhumvit Line was royally bestowed with the title Elevated Train in Commemoration of His Majesty the King's 6th Cycle Birthday, Route 1, running over a distance of 17 km from Mo Chit Station to On Nut Station.
    Silom Line royally bestowed with the title Elevated Train in Commemoration of His Majesty the King's 6th Cycle Birthday, Route 2, running over a distance of 6.5 km from National Stadium Station to Saphan Taksin Station.
    On 14th February 2013, a further extension of the Silom Line commenced operation from Wongwian Yai Station to Talat Phlu Station. The new extension covers a distance of 2.17 km serving 2 stations, Pho Nimit, and Talat Phlu.
    On 5th December 2013, a further extension of the Silom Line commenced operation from Talat Phlu station to Bang Wa Station. The new extension covers a distance of 3.8 km consisting of 2 stations, Wutthakat and Bang Wa. The Silom Line extension, therefore, became 8.17 km in length, serving 6 stations in total.
    On 3rd April 2017, Sukhumvit Line Extension (MRT Green Line Project): Bearing-Samrong section commenced operation. The extension of a new station, Samrong, covers a distance of 1.8 km.
    On 6th December 2018, Sukhumvit Line Extension (MRT Green Line Project): Bearing - Samut Prakan section commenced operation. The 8-station extension covers a distance of 11 km, serving Pu Chao Station, Chang Erawan Station, Royal Thai Naval Academy Station, Pak Nam Station, Srinagarindra Station, Phraek Sa Station, Sai Luat Station, and Kheha Station. The BTS SkyTrain, therefore, runs a total distance of 18.05 km from On Nut Station to Kheha Station, serving 14 stations.
    On 9th August 2019, an extension of the MRT Green Line (Mo Chit - Saphan Mai - Khu Khot section) commenced operation. The extension of a new station, Ha Yaek Lat Phrao, covers a distance of 1.13 km, continuing from Mo chit Station on the Sukhumvit Line.
    On 4th December 2019, a further extension of the MRT Green Line (Mo Chit - Saphan Mai - Khu Khot section) commenced operation. The 4-station extension continues from Ha Yaek Lat Phrao Station to Kasetsart University Station. It covers a distance of 3.27 km comprising Phahon Yothin 24 Station, Ratchayothin Station, Sena Nikhom Station, and Kasetsart University Station.
    On 4th December 2019, a further extension of the MRT Green Line (Mo Chit - Saphan Mai - Khu Khot section) commenced operation. The 4-station extension continues from Ha Yaek Lat Phrao Station to Kasetsart University Station. It covers a distance of 3.27 km comprising Phahon Yothin 24 Station, Ratchayothin Station, Sena Nikhom Station, and Kasetsart University Station.
    On 5th June 2020, a further extension of the MRT Green Line (Mo Chit - Saphan Mai - Khu Khot section) commenced operation. The 4-station extension continues from Kasetsart University Station to Wat Phra Sri Mahathat Station. It runs on a total of 8.6 km route length serving 9 stations: Royal Forest Department, Bang Bua, 11th Infantry Regiment, and Wat Phra Sri Mahathat.
