I cannot say, since I'm not a dr. You'll need to be evaluated by someone who does these procedures. To find a dr, please visit our website, saveyourthyroid.org.
Thyroid cancer should be evaluated to know what type and how aggressive it is. If you have an aggressive type, then yes, you likely need to have a surgery and/or other appropriate treatment protocol.
@@ItsmeJenagain The FNAB came out with Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). The surgical oncologist said it needs surgery. But the medical oncologist said since it has spread to the lymph nodes and lungs, surgery is no longer the priority. We got confused since the result of TSH and F4 are normal, and the patient looks okay, like nothing is wrong with him. May I have your opinion about this?
@@vandi1911 I would encourage you to consult with an interventional radiologist, as they may be able to treat your mets. Dr. Giovanni Mauri talks about this in our interview here: th-cam.com/video/ZUb4OqspZ7A/w-d-xo.html

I've been researching this as I am waiting for the results of my FNA biopsy. What I can't seem to find an answer to is why they only perform RFA on microcarcinomas and not larger ones?
@@ItsmeJenagain Oh yes I've been watching them! :) Biopsy came back clean!!! Still got 4 nodules though so hoping insurance gets their head out of their butt and starts covering RFA soon. Thanks for helping get the word out there!
Possibly. You may want to look into the current clinical trials that are going on. More info on that in this video: th-cam.com/users/shortsTYzS8QbocI0?si=sQbMstshmlRzCsyr
I have a 1 cm nodule on the right side of my thyroid that tested positive for cancer. I also have a 1.6 cm nodule of my left side and it was Benign. My doctor wants me to take my whole thyroid out and I really don't want to. Do I have other options?
Have you been evaluated by someone who offers nonsurgical treatment options? That'd the only way to really know. You can find a list of drs on our community website saveyourthyroid.org.

What if the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes and lungs? What do we do? Should we still avoid the surgery for the thyroid?
